When Lily Jacobs was born, she inherited Fazire – a genie. Her family had three wishes and they’d only ever used one so Fazire was stuck in the human world. This worked since he’d become a member of the family anyway.Even with a genie, Lily’s young life wasn’t perfect. To escape the kids making her miserable at school, Lily buried herself in romance novels. One day, when the teasing was just too … was just too much, she used one of her wishes. She told Fazire she wanted to find a man like in her books and she made the most complicated wish Fazire had ever heard. Her wished-for man had to be impossibly handsome, virile, fierce, rugged and ruthless (amongst a dozen other things).
He also had to think she was beautiful and he had to love her more than anything in the world.
Nathaniel McAllister wasn’t born to a life where there were such things as genies granting wishes. His life was filled with drugs, crime and neglect. He was running errands for a gangster before he was in his teens and, even though life and hard work led him to wealth and respectability, he always knew, deep down, he was dirty. When Nate met Lily he knew he was no good for her but as virile, fierce, rugged and ruthless as he was, Nate was no match for the pull of sweet, innocent Lily.
Unfortunately, Lily’s wish included that she and her hero go through trials and tribulations to test their love. And Fazire wasn’t only a good genie, he loved Lily – so he gave her exactly what she wanted.

It’s a rough ride for sure but totally worth it. Another amazing KA feat
I have to say that this book brought me to an extreme emotional roller coaster ride because all the conflict and trials that the main characters have to face were heart-wrenching However, I do love their chemistry and how they handle their relationship Seriously, there are some parts where it is extremely swoon worthy and I can’t help but fangirl a lot. Not only that, even the Genie a.k.a Fazire is an absolutely lovable character and I think he’s totally my favourite
Audiobook edit: Excellent book with a dang fine narrator. I love this author and I’m finding that I really like her narrators as well!
This author can do no wrong. Seriously. Unlike most of this author’s other novels, this one is more of an emotional roller-coaster, but in a good way. Nate and Lily were beautiful to read about. Heart-rending at times, but awesome. Very glad PassionFlix is planning to make a movie out of this one!
This book was 4 1/2 stars, in my opinion. Very well written and entertaining. However, it seemed overly long. I look forward to reading other books by this author.
Fazire, Lily and Nate. After using one wish for the perfect man, only one with a broken heart, encased in ice, Fazire grants Lily her wish.
Only Fazire didn’t realize those trials and tribulations that damaged Nates heart and Lilys body were going to cost them in such sad, grief filled ways.
A beautiful story, fun to see some of Kristen Ashleys first words, caused me to cry ugly, snottin tears with an absolutely perfect ending.
Lily Jacobs grew up with humble beginnings but she also grew up with a genie who had been with her family for two other generations. Fazire had given the family three wishes, only one has ever been used and now Fazire has to give Lily news he knows will devastate her.
The timing was all wrong, Lily had fallen in love with Nathaniel McAllister in a whirlwind romance but when she receives news that shatters her world she heads home. Despite all her efforts she doesn’t hear from Nate. Eight years later Nate finds out Lily had a child that was his and he wants answers. Everything he thought he new turns out to be a lie but Nate always was battling himself with not feeling he was good enough for Lily, will he figure it out in time or will he let his insecurities ruin the best thing that ever happened to him.
Throw in a genie with a temper, a warm soul and a alpha male and you have a magnificent read. This was wonderful, had a few teary eyed moments and I was surprised how it played out. Loved Lily, she is sweet and yet has a bit of a temper that ignites with Nate. Nate is broody and a bit to hard on himself but a perfect match for Lily. Excellent read.
I go back to this book yearly, sometimes more than once. I turn to it in my hardest of times, and it never fails to give me a moment of relief, escape, and peace. The story grabs you from the beginning, makes you laugh, tugs at your heart, and cheer for each character whether minor or significant, except for the bad guys, forget those guys. I’m a reader, I wear this badge proudly, and I boldly declare this book as one of my true favorites.
I read this book a few months ago and just loved it. I read and/or listen to a lot of books and remember very few titles and find most stories too formulaic and predictable. This story was just wonderful and probably one of my favorite romance (not steamy/sexy) reads/
I loved it. I loved it so much it hurts. My heart cries for Lily, for Nate and for the not-so-gentle Fazire. I want to have my own Fazire. I can’t stop reading this book and I crave for more. The angst, the drama, the ‘misunderstanding’, I got ’em all and I couldn’t be more happier. Kristen Ashley is my goddess. The end.
