A $5M superyacht unmanned and adrift, a trail of blood, and a bikini-clad blonde with a knife in her back. That’s what Florida salvage captain Seychelle Sullivan finds when she responds to a woman’s Mayday call.Worse, the missing skipper is Neal Garrett, her ex.But when she ties the salvaged yacht to the pier, the Fort Lauderdale detective zeroes in on her as a suspect and raises questions. … detective zeroes in on her as a suspect and raises questions. Questions she can’t answer.
Is Neal dead or alive?
Who is the dead blonde?
And who owns the lavish yacht Seychelle just salvaged?
She wants answers, too. Her business is in trouble, and this salvage claim against a yacht worth millions just might save her from having to sell her father’s beloved tugboat, Gorda.
Besides, she knows Neal’s alive. Somebody broke into her cottage that same day and stole her cash stash. Nobody knew where it was hidden except Neal.
Ever since her mother’s death, Seychelle has devoted her life to saving boats and people. Neal might be a jerk, but he’s definitely in trouble, and she has to find him.
As she searches from waterfront bars to strip clubs to halfway houses for run-aways, another girl’s body surfaces.
Seychelle is confident she can raise wrecks and navigate the seas, but can she salvage lives by stopping a killer?

I read in 2 days.
Well written book by an author who writes about what she knows, or has done some great research. Facts about the sea and boats, locations in Florida and off shore, and other tidbits ring true to someone who also knows these areas. I never felt the need to go = ‘no, wait a second, that isn’t right’. Great read.
I suppose for a person who understood nautical terms this book would be more exciting to read. I often had to research the terms used, which made reading this book somewhat cumbersome. The main character was well developed and likeable, the other characters no so much. I would have liked to get to know the boyfriend a little better, but he …
Enjoyed this book a lot.
I enjoyed her characters and plots.
A solid first novel for a series. It wasn’t perfect but I enjoyed it enough to want to read another story featuring this young woman.
Mindless, but entertaining enough.
You need to read this book! Great characters and the story is set near the sea. Lots of nautical information that is spot on. I stayed up ALL NIGHT reading this page turner. Highly recommend this book.
Really likes this book an would like to read more
I like to read about strong women and I like boats–so what is not to like?
Loved this book
Good air plane read. Some plot devolpments seemed unreal
This book had great characters and was well-written. With the advent of digital self-published books, there’s a lot of trash out there by wanna-be authors who clearly slept through their high school English classes. It isn’t unusual for me to read a few pages of a new book, then delete it! This book stood out as well worth my time to read!
A fun read, with characters well constructed, and that draw the reader’s interest.
Worthwhile
A great suspensful novel with twists and turns
I struggled a little with this book. While reading it, I didn’t want to put it down, but I did have to read it in segments and I found myself hesitating to pick it back up. As soon as I was reading it again, I didn’t want to put it down. My reading behavior made no sense to me.
I have book 2 in my reading queue.
Original subject and a nice read.
