Some people will do anything for true love — even if they have to fake it.
Jen Maitland had no use for handsome guys with easy charm — until she met Zach. He’s the perfect fake date to end her mother’s matchmaking scheme before it starts. Besides, he’d probably just use her and leave her like her ex-fiancé did. At least that’s what Jen tells herself. The only problem is that Zach isn’t as … as predictable as he appears…
Zach Coxwell hates commitment, but loves a challenge. Like the pretty bar waitress who turned him down flat for a date — only to invite him to her family’s Thanksgiving dinner. Zach knows he can make Jen smile — and he’s betting that he can unravel her mysteries — even if he has to do it over candied yams.
A tofu turkey, a sister who threatens to have Zach’s love-child, the untimely appearance of a knitted avocado — and Zach’s discovery of her real motive — combine to turn Thanksgiving dinner into Jen’s worst nightmare. Zach, on the other hand, has the time of his life. And when he makes Jen smile, he finally finds a commitment he’s willing to make…but persuading Jen to believe him will take everything he’s got.

Enjoyed this book a lot. Very witty characters (especially her family) . The main subjects were written with depth of character. Very good book, fast read.
This is a romance story that I could actually imagine occurring in real life. I enjoyed that she could, in fact, resist his charm and not melt at his every glance like some others I’ve read. The characters are fun, balanced well by the staid and eccentric.
A delightful romance with witty dialogue and challenging circumstances. The reader is moved alongside the characters in some thought provoking issues.
Read it completely instead of going to the end. Kept me reading with a good story line
Unlike most modern romances in a very good way.
enjoyed, would recommend
It was a very hard plot to follow. Ended up getting confused on who was who at points.
Super entertaining. Not just a great story but such witty repartee. Wonderful characters, sweet story, little bit of drama and a page turner.
This book didn’t hold my interest as well as I would have liked but it was a decent read
I liked the book, it was different and funny.
Good story and a realistic insight into the effects of breast cancer on family and relationships.
Enjoyed the book. Light, not a lot of sex but romantic anyway, nice to not have all the sex in a romance novel.
it kept my interest from start to finish! Loved it….
I really liked the family dynamics of their families.
This book kept me intrigued and laughing most of the way through. Some of the characters seem quirky, just like so many people I know!
Enjoyed this book and found the characters very interesting.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the characters were likeable. The subject matter can be sensitive but the book was well written.
The last few pages didn’t flow with the rest of the book.
loved it.
Well written although wordy at times.
