A bad-boy photojournalist chases the one that got away in this addictive novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Contract. My name is Adam Kincaid, and I’m the best at what I do. After losing my parents, I decided to follow in their footsteps, and now I’m the most daring freelance photographer in the world. Maybe some think I’m a loner, but I don’t care. All that matters is the … I don’t care. All that matters is the shot: braving danger and devastation in search of a single image with the power to tell someone’s story. But as good as I am, accidents happen—and thank god for that, because it’s what leads me to her. . . .
Alexandra Robbins. My nurse. My savior.
With her fiery red hair and crystal-clear blue eyes, the camera loves her . . . and I have to have her. We soon find that we’re perfect together. We just fit, physically and emotionally. And yet something isn’t right. Something from her past is haunting her, and no matter what I do to help her break free, I lose her.
Today is the day I try to win her back. Not only do I need an explanation, I need her in my bed once again. I don’t just want a damn picture—I want her. Because what we have is a love that never fades away. . . .

Once again Melanie Moreland enchants me with her words. She has one voice in contemporary romance that is not to be missed. My Image of You cocoons you tightly in their world that you never want to leave. Adam and Alex are beautifully complex characters that are delivered to the reader with equal parts of lust, humor, tenderness and love.
Adam is what I would refer to as an understated alpha. His persona is charming and captivating. He has a job that would make any adrenaline junkie jealous. And he passes that passion onto those he loves with evenly matched ferocity. As a reader, you can’t help but feel as deeply as he does throughout the story.
Alex is a gorgeously written heroine who waters run deep. She has an inner strength that shines brighter as the story progresses. Although her glow may dim at times, it’s finding that one that helps you glimmers all the time. With Adam, her character doesn’t just twinkles but radiates. You don’t feel sympathy, but empathy for this endearing heroine. You WANT her to have her HEA.
I would be remiss without mentioning the secondary characters. Ms Moreland never writes these characters as someone to move the story along . They are as necessary as the main characters need air to breathe. Elena again is one character I wish I knew in real life. She leaps off the page and into your heart.
If you are familiar with Melanie Moreland’s writing, My Image of You is right up there with The Contract and Beneath The Scars as favorites of mine. If you are not, you will not be disappointed with this bewitching story. 5 out of 5 stars
I reread this, all the time because I love the characters.
O.M.G. This has to be my most favorite book of 2017 thus far!!!!!! I have no words…..
In 2016, I broke away from my go to authors and discovered a few new gems, authors that just blew me away. Melanie Moreland was a gem that I am so happy to discovered! I read The Contract and it was brilliant so I decided to take a chance on My Image of You. O.M.G. You all have to stop what you are reading and pick this one up!!!
Adam Kincaid is a super successful photographer. He ends up having an accident while on shoot and has to go to the ER where his nurse is Nurse Nightingale (a.k.a Alexandra Roberts, a.k.a Ally). Adam and Ally have an instant connection! Adam convinces Alex to give them a shot. But little does Adam know that Ally has a whole different life per say.
“I only met you a couple days ago, Ally, but I’ve been waiting for you all of my life. Waiting for you to find me.”
~ Melanie Moreland, My Image of You
I feel like if I say anything you all are going to be disappointed so I am talking in circles at this point. Needless to say, Adam and Ally have to fight for their relationship.
“How did you settle into my heart so fast, Ally?”
~ Melanie Moreland, My Image of You
This book broke my heart and yet Melanie Moreland put it back together again in the end.
“I’m going to explore you —- everywhere. I’ll touch and discover every part of you. I want to know what makes you gasp, what drives you to distraction. I’ll find out what I can do to make you groan and beg me to take you. I’ll know your body better than you do.”
~ Melanie Moreland, My Image of You
Melanie Moreland is brilliant. Again, this is my top book for 2017!
Thank you Melanie for your brilliant words and your characters that have found their way into my heart. You have a fan for life! You have a bright future in this crazy book world.

This audio was fantastic! I was so engaged in the story and when the twist came, I was glued to my Kindle and couldn’t stop. This book had quite a bit of angst but it also made me laugh a ton.
5 star Review My Image Of You by Melanie Moreland
Having read several other books by Melanie Moreland I couldn’t wait to read this book and I was not disappointed in any way.
Melanie Moreland sucked me into the story from the first page. I kept thinking just one more chapter and I couldn’t put it down until I had finished. I Love the characters of Adam and Alexandra .Ms. Moreland weaves a story so well that was immediately immersed in her writing.
Not only does she write strong main characters but I have also found that the secondary characters are also given their chance to shine and in My Image Of You this is the case.
This is a story full of love, romance, angst and humour. Ms. Moreland writes strong characters with depth and Adam and Alex are no exceptions. I loved the strength and determination that Alex had and Adam, whilst not a true Alpha, has the soul of a determined and caring man.
I will say I was not a particular fan of Alex’s mother and step-father who continuously tried to run her life. My Image of You was an emotional story full of romance and love and will certainly draw you in.
I adored this book. I felt emotionally connected to the characters, loved the premise of the story, and thought it was beautifully written. Didn’t want it to end, really!
Heartwarming love story, my favourite thing is that the two main characters don’t put any pretense on – they are very straightforward in expressing their feelings for each other and are quickly swept up into a deep and intense love affair. Adam, is no nonsense, protective and caring I love the way he doesn’t hide his feelings. Ally is sweet and kind, at times she lacks any self confidence, but with Adam she has a feisty side which is adorable.
Unfortunately there is always a manipulator in the background trying to mess things up, and in this case it happens to be Ally’s family – they have an alternative plan for her future, that fits into their version of appearances much better.
You will get your HEA, but you have to go through some stuff to get there!
Watch out for Elena – she’s a wise old woman with a dirty mouth – you are going to love her!!!
Adam Kincaid is a renowned photographer who travels all over the world to photograph the destruction left behind by man and nature. He’s never wanted to be tied down until he meets a sassy nurse named Alex Robbins after he ends up the emergency room with a head injury. There’s instant attraction and chemistry. They are fascinated by one another and he convinces her to explore what that means to each of them. They fall hard and fast, but she has a controlling family and his photography takes him away often threatening their relationship. It’s a sweeping love story with a few twists you don’t see coming. Their story was swoony and surprising with a beautiful epilogue and a happy ending that left me smiling.
Oh, did I ever love this book!! This was a book that as soon as I finished the last page I wanted to go right back to the start and read it all over again!!
Adam is a photographer who is constantly traveling all over the world looking for the best shot. During a trip to the Emergency Room he falls hard for his own bright and spunky Florence Nightingale.
“I only met you a couple days ago, Ally, but I’ve been waiting for you all my life. Waiting for you to find me.”
Melanie Moreland’s writing flows effortlessly and I didn’t even realize how deeply I was being drawn into this story. It wasn’t long before I had completely fallen in love with some of the characters. (Plus there were a few characters that I can’t even think about without a bit of hate bubbling up.)
“Thank you for staying beside me.”
“There isn’t anywhere else I want to be.” He paused. “Are you up for this? We’ll leave soon.”
I drew in a deep breath. “I have to be. With you there I can be brave and do this.”
“You are brave. You always have been.”
My Image Of You is a beautifully sweet, steamy and emotional romance. It has some twists that caught me by surprise and kept me guessing and really rooting for Adam and Alex to get their Happily Ever After.
My Image of You was a good read. This story focuses on Adam and Ally. The prologue was absolutely perfect and I was completely hooked. However, after the prologue the book had a slow start. I enjoyed both Adam and Ally’s character, but I completely hated her mom Sarah. There were a few surprises in this story, some I saw coming and some I never expected. Adam loved Ally unconditionally and she deserved to have someone love her and be there for her. Overall, it was a good read with a sweet ending and I look forward to reading more books from this author.
