The Highland Protector series brings to life four mouthwatering Celtic brothers in twenty-first-century North Carolina—where the lasses are anything but tamed. Highland warrior Alec MacDara and his brothers traveled forward in time to protect the sacred Heartstone. Their cover? Owners and operators of a theme park called Highland Life and Legends. As the chairman, Alec has been fending off … fending off requests to film at the breathtaking property. It’s only because of the charming correspondence from an enterprising production assistant that he agrees to a meeting at all. That’s when Alec meets a woman whose lush curves make him forget, for the first time, all about tenth-century Scotland.
A lowly assistant for her sister’s motion picture company, wannabe screenwriter Sadie Williams is shocked when Alec agrees to let them film at the park upon one condition: that she report to him daily. Sadie’s sister always told her that their parents only adopted her because they felt sorry for the ugly little stray. But Alec looks at Sadie like she’s the most tempting creature in the world. And with his gleaming, musclebound body stripped down to nothing but a hip-hugging kilt and boots, Alec clearly knows a little something about temptation.

“Sadie’s Highlander is an engaging, fun romp that combines a very serious ninth-century Scottish Highlander and a sassy twenty-first-century wannabe Hollywood screenwriter. A true hero to long for!
Sadie’s Highlander by Maeve Greyson
I enjoyed the strong and charismatic characters with their witty dialogue and sarcastic retorts were fun to read. I was excitedly intrigued by the rare direction of this romantic storyline between the handsome Highland warrior Alec and the enchantingly witty and curvaceous Sadie Williams. Sadie’s character endured unbelievable cruelty from her adopted parents and her sister, by their lack of acceptance, mental abuse, and the ultimate abandonment by her parents because Sadie did not meet their vane physical size criteria. Her perseverance to not let their small mindedness and her sister’s cruel words effect her was tearfully heart felt. Sadie deserved to have her happy ending with the man of her dreams, but unfortunately I fell short of feeling a real connection between them other than physical. I felt the relationship was rushed without having the basic foundation and experience of getting to knowing each other, becoming friends, and the building of trust and a deeper connection that draws and ties the characters hearts together.
The beginning of the book was an exciting and action packed page turner that I wished to have seen more of and to see it have a bigger part of story. I look forward to future reads from this author and I am glad I had the opportunity of choosing to accept an advanced ARC copy of this novel for an honest review. Happy Reading!
I loved this story about Sadie’s Highlander.
Sadie is a woman with the tenacity to get the job done, but has a ugly step-sister that will destroy everything Sadie has worked hard to get what she has But being threatened to withhold her inheritance and her career in the writing industry, she has to play nice with her. She feels inferior with her body, has no self esteem, and is always trying to make people happy.. She refuses to cry.
Alec is hot for Sadie, with her sexy curves in all the right places, he wants her, and will do whatever it takes to win her over. But it isn’t just her body he wants he’s enchanted with her spirit and her writings.
Sadie is threatened by her step sister, to give Alec whatever he wants even her body if need be to use his land for a movie. She is not willing and so the story goes, winning ones heart is what this book is about. Trust, and honesty, and being accepted as a human being with a compassionate heart.
Can two people from different backgrounds find a balance in harmony with faith and hope?
I honestly don’t want to give to much away, there is so much I could say, but will say it is a very good story. I am so happy the publisher thought it worthy enough in trusting my judgement in asking me to give a honest review.
ARC – I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Alec MacDara just meet his match.
Sadie was at the theme park for business.
She would never imagine that she would become part of the deal.
Spend 6 months w/ the mouth watering highlander? Sign me up.
Everything seems to going well for Alec + Sadie until the other shoe dropped.
Because of Sadie’s sister betrayal, Sadie thought that she lost everything.
How can Alex ever forgive her?
In reality, Alec knew that it was never Sadie’s fault.
You will have to read the book to find out what happens next.
Loved the storytelling.
I can’t wait to read the next book.
No real plot, just tons of sex scenes
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a truly wonderful story. The characters are wonderful and plot was well developed. It kept me reading until I finished. I LOVE this type of romance genre. The wonderfully strong alpha warrior from olden days come into modern time. It is swoon-worthy!!!!! I can’t wait for the second book!!!!! Alec and Sadie totally deserve one another and I hope they have recurring roles in the next story.
I don’t read many time travel books, but the blurb for this one caught my attention with its sexy Highlander in modern day North Carolina. I was a little worried about similarities to the Outlander series, but thankfully, didn’t find that. The story is well-written and it flows nicely. The characters could’ve done with a bit more development, but they are interesting – some more than others and some were quirky and humorous (Esme, in particular). Greyson does a good job of explaining why Alec and his family are in the twenty-first century and what their purpose is. Some elements of the story do require a suspension of belief, even for a time travel romance (Sadie’s too quick acceptance of Alec’s story, for one), and the ending was a little mushy. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the read and found the story entertaining enough that I would check out future books in the series.
