Shame. It wounds us. It damages us.Or, for the few poor souls out there like me…it defines us.I’m the son of the devil, himself—the most feared mob boss who ever lived.I was cursed from the moment I took my first breath.I hate him…and I never wanted to become him.And I sure as hell never, ever, wanted anything of his.Until her.My name is Ricardo DeLuca. There are two things you need to know … There are two things you need to know about me. The first—is that I’m in love with the girl who belongs to my father. The second—is that it turns out I am my father’s son after all.
My name is Lou-Lou, and you probably think I’m a bitch.
You would be right—because I am.
You think you know all there is to know about me because of the man I belong to.
What you don’t know—is my past, because I’ll never tell you.
What you don’t know is my shame.
Because if you did—you’d be worse off than dead.
You’d be broken.

OMG! Why has it taken me so long to read this book. I thought I knew what I was getting myself into, but boy was I wrong. Blame It on the Shame is dark, twisted, and so uncomfortable. It will push your reading boundary because holy hell, the things that will happen in this book will test you. I loved every second spent reading this book. It blew my damn mind in the best way possible.
I don’t want to give much away because its so gratifying to go in blind. I couldn’t get enough of Lou-Lou and Ricardo. I loved that he was never what his father wanted him to be. It made a lot of actions surprising. Lou-Lou had a terrible life and it was made worse by being stuck under the thumb of Bruno. But even when there’s times you want to hate her, you can’t help but want more for her after all she’s been through because none of it was her fault.
There is lots of violence and Bruno is truly a monster. I don’t care how much he actually cares for Lou-Lou, how he treats her is despicable. I liked Ricardo from the start and how he never gave in to what his father wanted despite him using things he cared about against him. I also loved his relationship with his fighters. I really can’t wait to see what will happen next.
Everything about this book from the very start is; deep, dark, and raw as all get out. It all comes out as the most serious book ever.
Lou-Lou, that girl has gone through so much, to much for a girl her age. The things shes been put through, there is just so much emotion that drips from her words, her thoughts, everything. She is so broken, yet wants so much to have someone that loves her. Yet she obviously “finds” it in the absolute worse place, with the worst person ever. Ugh, she just goes with what ever Old man DeLuca wants, as long as he “shows love” to her. 🙁
Ricardo, boy oh boy. This boy/man! He has so much pent up, and he’s hiding so much. Yet he just wants to escape and be normal. He comes off strong and scary, but that man is just as Broken as Lou-Lou.
The connection between these two characters from the start is like chemistry forming. Its so think and real. Yet they fight it, at first because they don’t know what else to do, then because they have to.
But these two need to pay attention to EVERYTHING. Because DeLuca will not just let her walk away, heck neither one…
The devil’s possession, hiding broken and shattered pieces, scrambling to find her way, Lou-Lou finds herself faced with impossible choices. The most forbidden, off-limits man in the world might just be her saving grace. Ricardo is all too familiar with the devil, yet he has not let it take him fully. These two share more than they realize, and the pull is inescapable. From start to finish, didn’t put it down, one sit read, do not bother me, I wanted nothing more for the entire day than Lou-Lou and Ricardo.
‘Her eyes penetrate me and I have to suck in a breath because whatever her secrets are…something tells me they’re the worst kind.
“Because if I do…I’m afraid I’ll break.”
I cup her face in my hands. “You won’t if I hold you together.”
She looks down. “You’re not that strong.”
I give her a small smile. “Wanna bet?” ‘
Oh this man…still all swoony from something he did for Lou-Lou that I can’t tell you, but it made my entire day!! You won’t put it down, they are real, vulnerable, and so stinking broken. You want them to find peace, but Ashley jade throws some wrenches, while I threw my kindle, secretly telling the Author she was awesome. It gives you a million “what just happened” moments, and you’re saying….I give!!!! I recommend getting both parts 1 and 2 because finishing 1 at 2am and staring at the next book dying to start it will drive you nuts!!
