Jack Torrance’s new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he’ll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote… and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible … forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five year old.

Loved the Shinning, was a mind twister.
Hard to put down. The story starts simply as the main character takes a new job managing an isolated resort hotel, then the fun begins…
Classic King is the best. Read this one weekend while snowed in at my one bedroom apartment. Scared the bejesus out of me! Loved every minute of it.
Probably the scariest book I’ll ever read, along with The Exorcist. The scenes were so incredibly descriptive. King at his best.
Stephen King is one of my all time favorite authors. His imagination knows no bounds. As always he does a fantastic job with his writing.
Very scary
Loved the whole book
Love King; Read the book before the Movie! Think book was better!!!
Fantastic book for people who love horror. The very best there is…
Stephen King is an excellent author
Stephen King knows how to keep you awake at night! His thoughts turn into pages in a book that is still poplar even after many years on the market!
Awesome book
Great tension builder.
One of the best books he ever wrote and I’ve read them all. Maybe someday they try to make a decent movie out of it. The Jack Nickleson was pretty good because he was fabulous. With cgi etc hollywood should do better.
One of my favorite King books. It goes without saying that Mr. King is one of the greatest American writers in our history. Even without the paranormal features of most of his stories, he’s writing style is second to none.
Love Stephen King
One of the best of Stephen King and a great scary book. Really good.
It’s King at his finest.
Stephen King, a master at writing stories that delve into the human psyche, much like Poe. Examines what happens to the human mind and how it can become a danger to itself.
One of King’s best. A must read for fans of S.K. and the horror genre.
