Another great book with Cronin and Alec, I have so much fun with them I beginning to feel like Eiji sincerely, but it’s just that they are so fun.
I love how the author actually brings a little history alive too from any part of the world and legends as they say sometimes have something of truth in them, seems here that held true a lot of the time.
I just love how well they keep coming together, I have been so enthralled with the story and the characters, Jorge in this one was so interesting and cool actually, can’t wait what else will come next.
This is a book two in the Cronin’s Key Series, and I feel it is best read in order since this one picks up after the first.
Alec, Cronin and all his friends are back and recuperating from the last mystery. They are also waiting to see what the next task is for Alec before he can be turned. What they find out is rather grim. We are introduced to a new vampire Jorge that is a child vampire with very special talents. (this is where the audio really came in play as Joel Leslie knocked this character out of the ballpark. You could feel his childish excitement than the very creepiness as well. I loved him so much… maybe more so than Alec and Cronin…LOL)
There is lots of action and another mystery. This one too gives us an awesome lesson in history When we find out who the evil vampire has risen this time is. I loved all the code deciphering, the friendships growing tighter, the suspense and the romance.
This story has it all and in vampire, form so what isn’t to like!
As Usual Joel Leslie knocks an already fabulous story up a notch with his wonderful voices, accents, and excitement. If you can possibly get the audiobook, I highly suggest it.
I listened to the audio version of this and just absolutely loved it.
The fated relationship between Cronin and Alec is just so consuming. I love each of the friends in this as well as Jorge.
N.R. Walker’s descriptive writing was amazing, as usual and the narration done by Joel Leslie was perfect. He has such a way with distinguishing different characters that I’ve just really enjoyed.

Sexier and more emotional!
Ms. Walker has created such a fantastic world with her Cronin’s Key series! I don’t want it to ever end and so I’m putting off listening to the third book for just awhile, to delay the inevitable.
I am loving Alec and Cronin even more than book 1, if that’s possible. They are such the perfect match for each other- I love their banter and their back and forth! And again with that “Oh” and “No”, gah!
And the friendships with Jodis and Eiji make my heart happy. I love that they are so accepting of Alec. But I do feel bad for them, with all the phermones floating around! Eiji cracks me up, for a vampire he’s so full of life!
This book was sexier than book one, but it was also much more emotional. It probably wasn’t the best idea to listen to the last couple of chapters at the gym- I had to pretend the sun coming in through windows was causing the tears.
I really would love this to turn into a television series- I’d watch it over and over again.
