Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy in Damage Control, the smoldering, scorching next novel in the explosively sexy Dirty Money series from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones.
The only thing more dangerous than a dark secret is a damaged heart…
Shane Brandon has been pushed to the brink, torn between his corrupt family and his explosive, all-consuming desire for Emily Stevens, who he now knows is not who, and what, she seems. Has he trusted the wrong person? Will she, not his brother Derek, be the ultimate destruction of his family Empire.
Emily tries to run from Shane, but he will stop her, confront her, force her to reveal all – one hot touch and kiss, at a time, under every intimate detail of who this woman is, and what she wants, is exposed. But as he tears away the dangers of the unknowns with the woman in his bed, and in his heart, The Martina Cartel, has set their sites on his company, his family, and the one piece of leverage they believe he won’t gamble with: Emily.
This is book THREE of FOUR in Shane and Emily’s story.

If you read my reads of Damage Control (Dirty Money, #2), then you know I was expecting a lot to happen in Bad Deeds. Well, I can say I was not disappointed. There was so much that happened in Bad Deeds and it was all so good! I really enjoyed getting to know more about Derek and Teresa in this book. We even get a few chapters that are told from their points of view. My heart truly goes out to Teresa and her situation. I’ve always seen this series advertised as “Sons of Anarchy meets Wall Street” and that comparison has always been lost on me because I’ve never seen Sons of Anarchy. I can say, however, that this book reminds of the TV show Scandal, just battling for a company instead of a country.
I will warn you, this book ends with a MASSIVE cliffhanger. It’s one of the most anxiety filled cliffhangers I’ve ever seen, to be honest. Thankfully, Endgame has already released and we can find out what happens next, because I must know! I’m so excited to read the conclusion of Shane and Emily’s story. This series has quickly become my favorite romantic suspense series!
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
As Shane and Emily are getting closer, his family are getting stranger. His parents are pitting Shane and Derek against each other still but Emily is trying to get Shane to see that he and Derek need to work together to keep the family business in the family.
While they try to keep the business in the family and the family safe, someone is trying to steal the business, but who in the family is helping the bad guys? Mr. Brandon wants Shane to take over when he dies, Mrs. Brandon wants Derek to take over but then again who can you trust. And when Shane doesn’t want to tell Emily what is going on, she feels like he is hiding something from her.
So, who do you trust with your secrets, your safety and your life? Emily and Shane will have to learn to trust a few new people and still keep everyone safe.
But holy hell watch out for the cliff-hanger, it is a whopper. I can’t wait for more. I need to know how this one ends.

This was another great read to a fantastic series. This series must be read in order because every book ends with a cliffhanger including this one and if you don’t read the books in order you will miss a lot. Everyone is still fighting for control, but the players in this game realize that sometimes in order to get what you want, you must make your enemies your allies. Blood is thicker than water no matter how much you try to fight what binds you together; family will always be family. No worries though because new enemies are around the corner trying to take what you have and what they want at any and all costs. This is a great series full of suspense, romance and twists and turns I can’t wait to see what happens next.
ACK!!!!!!!!! Cliffhangers should not end like this!!!!!!! I have read all three in this series in the last week and really wish I could roll right into the final book *sigh* but *alas* will have to wait…
Shane and Emily have found their rhythm and work really well together even though they hit a few bumps, they did manage to navigate them with all the trust and love intact. The Brandon family is a dysfunctional mess with Senior pitting his sons against each other, Maggie playing games and not sure who she wants in charge, and Derek a wild card who is either going to self destruct or…not…
Twists and turns and betrayal and so much chaos and goodness I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! Love where this is going and can hardly wait for the final book in this series!!!! Bring it on!

You can never go wrong with Lisa’s books.
I have loved Shane and Emily since they met in the coffee shop. Bad Deeds, I think, is the best of this series so far. It keeps you hooked from the very beginning and you have to keep reading to see what happens next. But O.M.G…, that ending, I didn’t see that coming.. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!
I can’t wait to get my hands on End Game and to see what happens next.
Sizzling suspense…
This was the third book in the series and I am hopelessly addicted! Shane and Emily hit their stride in this instalment as their relationship was more solid than ever. A good thing as the forces around them were only getting more sinister and deadly…
Enemies were abundant but not all of them were far away. Shane’s family was unbelievably driven to succeed. Money, power. It was hard to say which one held the upper hand as they each were working their own unique angle. Shane knew things were not going to end well if he didn’t pull off the impossible but it was hard to say who was working with them, or against them. If things weren’t already serious enough, the stakes were only getting higher. And deadlier.
All I can say is hold onto your heart as that cliffhanger had me dangling off a steep, steep cliff! Grab this book but don’t forget to read the two stories before it or you will be hopelessly lost – and missing out on all the glorious steamy and tension-filled buildup…

I only have two words for this series…. MAD LOVE!!! Lisa Renee Jones has a way of writing a story that draws you in and then throws you off with its twists and turns. This is the perfect way to describe to you my thoughts about the entire Dirty Money series!!
I feel like if I told you anything about this book, it would be NOTHING because you need to experience it yourself. Lisa Renee Jones will take your heart on a journey with suspense and have you cheering Shane and Emily on. Trust me on this one.
Oh, and did I mention that Lisa Renee Jones is the master of chiffies?!?! If you don’t like Cliffhangers, then don’t read her books. But I don’t know of anyone who wouldn’t… You would be truly missing out!

Oh wow, so suspenseful and intense. Emotions running high with the plot moving forward, this is edge of your seat reading at its best with a powerful story in four parts. Is it worth investing in four books ? Oh yes! The characters are fabulous and there is an amazing mix of highs lows and love and hate, plenty to keep you turning pages and gripped throughout. I know many don’t like cliff hangers but believe me they work in this series and each following book pretty much picks up where the last finished so no gaps. Plus the series is complete so no waiting. I am loving the fast pace, the intrigue and struggle for control mixed with the dark and anger. Lisa writes completely addicting stories you just don’t want to put down.
BAD DEEDS is yet another stellar book in the “Dirty Money” series!
Where the twist, turns, suspense and that fire that Lisa Renee Jones is known for ignites! Engulfing you, with sultriness of it all! Then having you second guessing it all! Leaving you teetering on the edge of nothingness!
Wracking my brain now!! My mind is still swirling WTF???
BAD DEEDS is a true mix of a mind-blowing vortex, sexy as sin and that typhoon of emotions! Which always has a way of erupting! Making you a puddle of mush! This book will hit you with a Bam!!!
OMG, I needed this Mind Caper of volatility in my life!
Talk about epic cliffhanger…
I’m glad I noticed book 4 on Goodreads before I even started this book. Otherwise, agony, anger, and rage will consume you at the bitter taste of unfulfilled answers.
This series has been intense and gets your blood rushing at the mere mention of all the possibilities. Too much has happened. Too many things can still happen.
I’m dying to vent all my worries, anger, and issues but clearly Ms. Jones wants us on edge and panting for more. She may not like the consequences of HER actions…
Maybe we can make some calls…lol. Bad Deeds has an incredible ending but the crazy part is the beginning. This series barely leaves room for breathing. It is 110% imperative that you read these books in order. That being said, I appreciate the recap that the author includes because let’s face it not everything remains fresh in your mind 6 months after reading. It’s especially helpful for reminding you of key elements that will come back into play.
It’s an incredibly tense series. I love each and every calculated moment.
That cliffy about killed me!!
The relationship between Shane and Emily keeps solidifying and getting stronger here in Bad Deeds. There’s more drama, more intrigue, more action, more steam, more everything. This is definitely my favorite installment of this series so far.
I like that one of the characters does some serious growth and changes my opinion, a little, of them. It’s not something I expected and took me by surprise. I’m wondering if they will get their own story.
Shane is still fighting to take his family’s empire onto the right side of the law, and it’s taking its toll on him. That dark side that he was fighting so hard in Damage Control is making more and more appearances and Emily is starting to wonder if it will take control of him. After the batshit crazy ending of Bad Deeds I’m having to wonder, too. If it does, though, it will most certainly be the end of not just Shane, but of Shane and Emily.
I’m pretty pissed at Lisa that I have to wait until January, yes, JANUARY!!! to see what happens to Emily and Shane and how everything will play out. I’ll be a serious wreck by then. Perhaps she’ll cut us a break and release it earlier? Pretty please with sugar and cherries on top?!?
f you haven’t read this series from the start, please stop and go do that. Bad Deeds is not a standalone. It picks right up where Damage Control ended.
In Bad Deeds, we see Shane and Emily united as a force stronger than ever before. Their love is fierce and their loyalty is off the charts. Too bad for them that it seems like it is them against the world right now. They continue to have to worry about Shane’s family and the game his father keeps playing on them. For almost the entire book, I felt like Shane and Emily weren’t going to make it. That there were too many odds and too many people to battle.
We start to see a shift in a few people but the entire time you are left questioning everyone and their motives. I felt like I was riding along with Shane and Emily and was on their side, fighting against everyone else. Just when you think you have someone figured out, a new twist comes and you start to second guess what you thought you knew.
I liked how strong and intelligent Shane is. He is a worthy opponent in his father’s horrific chess game. He starts to bring Emily more into the loop and allow her to show her strength as well. Again, I just loved how united they were.
For some reason, I was living under a rock and thought that this was going to be the conclusion of the series and it most certainly isn’t. I’m actually glad that I was surprised by that because it left me pissed off and happy at the same time. Drawing emotions from me that meant I have connected to these people and care what happens.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and have enjoyed this series. I still have so many questions that are left unanswered so I can’t wait to get my hands on End Game and finally figure a few things out.
To say this series has completely captivated me is an understatement! While book 1, Hard Rules, had me scratching my head a little, book 2, Damage Control, got that under control and started to suck me in, and then lord have mercy, Bad Deeds comes along and has me totally enthralled and on edge. So many things happened that I never saw coming!
This book was so intense, so passionate, so heart-pounding! Just when you think all the secrets and lies have been exposed, Ms. Jones throws in even more twists to keep us on our toes. I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down! I really love how this story has come together, with Shane and Emily forging a united front in the fight to keep the Brandon empire under family control. With not only his father and brother fighting against him, the Martina cartel is becoming more forceful in their quest to further infilitrate the company, and now there’s a new player on the scene set on causing even more havoc. This really is a chess game brought to life!
Bad Deeds is full of twists and turns, surprising revelations, and one heck of a cliffhanger! Lisa Renee Jones sure knows how to get her readers invested in a story, as we’re left wanting, no needing, the final chapter in the Brandon family saga. I swear these books are better than any serial drama on television today!
