This book is amazing!! I picked up this book because the cover caught my eye and plus it was free on iBooks so I began reading this book and let me tell you I devoured this book!! Mina’s character is easily to love her and feel for when she has certain crisis. It certainly plays to the YA genre and I’m a big fan of this series. I love how …
I have to admit, after reading the first few chapters, I thought ‘Okay, this is a tad boring and the writing was too…simple….’ However, I had nothing else to read to sleep every night, so I kept reading. And I was glad I did. The story and my interest quickly picked up! (Especially when a certain dark haired handsome came into the picture… …
This has to be my favorite book of all time. I love the imagination of the story and the confidence Mina gains as she goes through the story. I hung on every word and couldn’t put this down.
Just starting this book out I know I am going to love it. Mina has everything I look for in a retailing of the fairy tale world. I look forward into getting to know her world and how she is going to deal with so much stuff she has going on. I don’t know if she will have what it takes. But that is part of the story that is going to make in …
This book is a take on the fairy tale world and the Grimm brothers. Chandra Hahn does these fairy tale adaptations so well. I am a huge fan of her writing.
Be aware that this is the first in a series and does not have a totally resolved ending.
The heroine is a genuinely nice person and Chanda Hahn writes believable and charming characters and family life. Her settings are simple, but richly detailed.
I really enjoyed this book. I bought and read the whole series, then my daughter read a couple of them. Great stories and a clean read.
This is by far my favorite series I have read. It’s been 4 years since my first read and I still go back and read it from time to time
A definite twist to your classic fairytales in the real world; a good book
Have you ever said to yourself, “I wonder what it would be like to live in a fairy tale?” This is your book! While blending the traditional elements of the stories with the quirks of modern American teenage life, this book reminds readers that lots of those fairy tales are dark and twisty. Mina Grimm realizes that she is the latest Grimm in a long …
Exactly what teen literature should be – light, captivating story, definitely more entertaining than life-changing
I loved this book and the whole series. Definitely leaves you compelled to read the next book. I liked the protagonist, she was neither annoyingly bold nor wishy-washy. I find it difficult to find books and authors that can deliver this balance of characteristics.
The story never slows but doesn’t leave you befuddled by a blindingly frenetic …
A very interesting and entertaining story. It starts slow, but hang in there. It is unusual in using the Grimms brothers’ fairy tales in the story line.
Lol this one grips you pretty early on, and doesn’t let till last page. Looking forward to next book.
I like it
Great book for pre-tweens who are looking for a good book. Great series
I loved this book I can not stress that enough cant wait to read the rest of the series. Im hooked.
I absolutely fell in love with this series and subsequently bought every other book in the series. The first book was less developed initially, but as you get through and continue that series becomes so much more and so very entertaining. From the beginning development it is a twist on the fairy-tale realms and I loved the way it progressed. The …
I’ve had this ebook for ages and finally got around to reading it. This book really helped me get through a delayed flight with a long time sitting in an airport. I got so caught up in figuring out what fable Mina was in and what twist to the story would happen that when I finished the book I ordered the rest of the series.
I’d like to rate this at 3.5 stars, but alas it doesn’t seem to work that way.
This is a good book if you want to pass some time. It’s not world shattering and not the most original but it definitely gets the job done. My favorite part (apart from it being retelling of the Grimm’s fairy tails) was probably Mina, Brody, and Jared. Together they …
