How very lucky for her that she stumbled upon that road. We have what seems to be a more laidback Meryn. Why do the mates always seem to get in trouble? I always find it interesting the the human mate is always the fiercest.
Rebecca Morgan is lost L..O…S..T. She lost her job, her home and now she is traveling only to have the musicality of her car breaking down and her GPS on the fritz. When she ends up in a little out of the way town of Arkadia, she finds she is accepted with warmth and comfort from everyone but bear shifter Sheriff Aleksander Arkadion.
Rebecca thought after the searing kiss he greeted her with that he liked her a little bit. When she finds out she is his mate, she thinks he will accept her but Aleksander makes it clear he doesn’t want a human mate. Of course when Aleksander realizes he has been a bit of a fool, everything changes and he realizes he has a lot of ground to make up for and sets out to woo her, Arkadion style.
Very fun read. The story had several laugh out loud moments and the cast of side characters are truly enjoyable. Looking forward to more from this talented author.
A hidden shifter town, and the human women who becomes their heart. Loved this series, happy to see it make a return.
After losing her job and boyfriend, and seeing all the work she had done at the library she managed being undone by his new girlfriend, Rebecca decides to hit the road. Time to explore and find a new life. She finds an amazing town of shifters hidden in the Carolina Mountains. Her mate in the town sheriff, a bear, who will one day be the Alpha.
Aleks Arkadion, is thrilled and terrified at finding his mate. She is tiny and human and he fears he could hurt her. He tries to reject her, to keep her safe. His six younger brothers, his parents, and friends all think he is over reacting. He saw some terrible things working in the all shifter police on what can happen to humans in relationships with shifters. Rebecca gets a little help from Aleks frenemy, Liam, the towns Lion Alpha to help Aleks see reason, and if that fails, make him plain jealous.
Rebecca is a force of nature. Her kind heart, open friendliness and easy acceptance wins over all she meets. She becomes fast friends with Kate, the wolf Alpha’s mate. Liam, treats her as a sister. His pride adores her. Two of the smaller shifters have already pledged to her, claiming her as their Alpha Mother, a roll that she seems a natural at.
The peaceful town of Arkadia, a haven were all shifters can live in peace, has been disrupted. The hyena shifters are making trouble. Rebecca has become their target. They learn from a powerful vampire prince, Gabriel, that someone is pulling their strings. Shifters are going missing. Vampires are behaving erratically, it all points to dealing in shifter blood.
When the hyena’s get their hands on Rebecca. The leaders of Arkadia, along with those who call her Alpha mother, and Gabriel’s coven, will stop at nothing to get her back.
A fun, fast paced, and steamy romance. Rebecca is sweet, smart and fierce. Aleks is a alpha-mellow, at least were Rebecca is concerned. She manages to reduce the other alpha’s to the same state.
Loved this series, happy to see it make a return. Hopefully some new stories are in the works. There are a few Arkadion brother who need mates. Then there are Rebecca’s friends from college. I do have the original release of this book. Picked up this re-release to support the series.
Stumbling onto the right path
Ms Alder has added another gem to her writing crown with the addition of this book. The laughter and comedic breaks are on a parallel course with the Meryn moments in her Bewitched and Bewildered series. And in a brand new group of paranormals, a deadly enemy, and a fantastic group of friends and family to start a new series that I know I will be reading over and over again. I can’t wait to read what happens next in this secret little town that has been brought to life by the quirky human who has found her HEA.
