“I was sent to kill her.”
There was one rule for this job. No witnesses.
Then I saw her. She wasn’t supposed to be there, and I can only imagine what those dirtbags had been planning for her with her gorgeous blonde hair and her deadly curves. So I did the one thing I knew I shouldn’t: I killed every a**hole in that room and I took her as my prize.
I don’t save people’s lives. I’m a killer, a … people’s lives. I’m a killer, a hired hitman for the Russian mob. But I tell her to trust me, and I mean it. I’m not going to let anyone take her away from me. I’d sworn off women long ago, but I can’t resist her long legs and wicked mind, and every time I tell myself I’m being foolish, she gets down on her knees and begs me not to leave her.
I’d rather die than lose her and the baby I know she’ll give me.
A full length Standalone Romantic Suspense novel. No Cliffhangers. Safe from cheating. Explicit language & swearing.

The ultimate bad boy does the honorable thing.
Good story with happy ending.
I didn’t know what to expect with this book. LOVED IT!! Following that he saved her, to then protecting her, to then deciding he wanted to keep her no matter what – GREAT READ!!
The characters in this book were very well written. The plot moved quickly and kept me very involved in the plot. Great read!
Captive of the Hitman is a fast paced, intense, and unbelievably HOT read!
Alicia works for this slime ball politician and is so excited he said she could come along for a business dinner but then things get blurry for her.
Mikhail is a Russian assassin who works for the Bratava and he has a job to do. Take out these crooked politicians and be done. Well as he arrives to do said job he realizes there is an extra person in the mix and she is a female. Who looks drugged and his rule is to harm no women or children. What to do now?
I love the Hitman series from Alexis because she promises you a ton of action and bad boy romance. Like the song from Tammy Wynette. The women stand by their man. These are HEA and everyone features the Russian Mob (Bratva).
If you like action and bad boy romance read these.
Besides who doesn’t like a bad boy. Take a risk on these books.
3.75 stars for me. There is plenty of fast-paced action; both in and out of the bedroom. Mikhail is a complex enough character to really capture my interest. He’s cold, calculating, gruff, but on the flip side he’s has a moral code and is so sweet with Alicia. I liked that Alicia didn’t turn into a simpering puddle of tears at every turn. She had a quick mind. She saw underneath Mikhail’s shell to the man he really was.
The few things that really detracted from the story for me were the repetitive words and phrases the author used. There were also some awkward cheesy scenes. All of these just pulled me out of the story.
Another round of Hitmen. Oh I do think Mikhail has taken the spot as my favorite. Strong, loving, empowering and protective at all costs. Alisa was his perfect fit, she adapted so well as her instincts were strong. Bring on the next one.
I love a ruthless hitman with a heart! Once Mikhail decided to save Alicia, he set in motion a chain of events that kept the action pumping and the heat burning between Mikhail and his kotika. It was an inst-lust/insta-love romance, but with a man like Mikhail, you know he will protect Alicia, whatever it takes!
If you like HOT, sexy, tough-as-nails hitmen, this book’s for you! Alexis Abbott brings lots of action, suspense, sexy-times, and sweet love to this story of a hitman and the young woman he saves and then decides to keep for himself. It’s insta-love/lust on the run! Captive of the Hitman is a very exciting, suspenseful, action-packed quick read with well-developed characters who you can’t help but root for. Mikhail and Alicia are quite the couple! Grab this book and give this talented author a try!
Deteriorated rapidly and I didn’t finish. Premise was promising and it started out okay, but it went off the rails early. Raunchy, pointless. I don’t mind explicit sex or bad language when it fits with the author’s style or the plot & dialogue of the book. However, that wasn’t the case here. I tried twice to continue but felt dirty reading it, like I was watching Jerry Springer—which I don’t do as it represents the worst way to spend one’s time. That’s what reading this book felt like—a terrible way to spend time. And so I didn’t.
I can honestly say I wasn’t prepared for the first sentence in the book! Hey, not that it’s a bad thing at all. As long as you love some quick, steamy love then you’re good! Alexis also mentions in the description that it does include explicit language and swearing. There is an abundance of violence and sexy times throughout the story. Granted this should be obvious to the reader (the title for example) that the theme surrounds the story. But just in case, be prepared for sexual situations, explicit language, and violence.
Mikhail does his job and does it well. He’s swift, ruthless, dedicated and never hesitates. He’s a contracted killer who survives a rough childhood, even scarier adult life and will stop at nothing to get the job done. He never lets anyone close because if he does, then it’s more than just his life at risk. It’s the risk of someone else and a weakness that can be used against him. How many times has he seen that himself? How many times has he used that exact option against a mark? Mikhail can survive on his own, he doesn’t need the love of anyone. But does he really? What happens when his job is compromised and he goes against every single rule he has? Will he survive his latest hit?
Alicia has worked hard to get where she is. She realizes that part of her appeal is her good looks, but she works even harder to be viewed as who she really is. A strong, intelligent, dedicated woman. She’s working for a congressman who she has no idea is not only crooked but dangerous. She willing went with him to a networking party, she should be safe right? He wouldn’t put her in a position that would get her hurt right? The last thing she remembers is being given a drink or two. She wakes up a full day later with bits of fuzzy memories. She’s with a man in a strange house. She recognizes nothing and is immediately on the defenses. She’s thinking she did something wrong and can’t accept what’s going on when Mikhail gives her a bit of information. Will she survive getting away from this man and getting to safety? It has to be a mistake or a joke someone is playing on her. What does she do when everything goes to hell and she realizes that she has no choice but to rely on this strange man? Will she survive it?
For the first time in his life, he hesitates. There is something about her that draws him and he knows that he can’t take her life. It’s as if they’re drawn together by fate and their new mission is to find out who set him up and why. It’s a dark and dangerous world that Alicia never expected to see. She would be completely dense to not know that shady moments make up the world just as much as the good ones. But why her? Why him? Can they do this together? Will their love be enough?
Creative adoration (positives): I loved that Alexis didn’t hold anything back. Right off the bat, you get a peek into Mikhail’s mind and motivation. He’s so strong, fierce and you can’t help but see a bit of lightness in him that was sparked by Alicia. For a person who has suffered through this huge ordeal, it makes Alicia stronger and braver. Her ability to catch on quickly and fight for what she loves and believes in is incredible. Yes, she’s perceived as being all the stereotypical bimbo types. When it comes down to it, she has no qualms about fighting. Both characters are very complex and I loved them!
Creative indifference (negatives): It almost felt like the pace was a little too fast. They move around so quickly it was hard to pick up where they were sometimes or who the extra characters were.
Creative appraisal (overall): This is an awesome read! It’s not exactly what I expected and I love that. Alexis has created a story set in a world that really exists. The corruption of politics, organizations is a part of everyday life, even if we choose to ignore it. I appreciate the creative way she was able to bring it to the forefront and with interesting details. I say run out and get this one for yourself today! Full of sexy times, a hero with a light heart (deep down) and a heroine who can be just as ruthless as her lovable hero.
