The New Rulebook Christian Suspense series Books 1-3 from Joy Ohagwu is a well-written suspense series based on Christian principles. It is a very exciting story in which you get to know the great characters well. It is a faith-building story that makes you think about how you handle certain situations yourself. The series shows you how dangerous it is when certain very rich people can be a danger if they push their own agenda and try to realize their own ideals at the expense of everything and everyone. The series makes you think about what is happening in the world around you today and how important it is to follow God’s way at all costs. The series touched my heart deeply. Evil might as well play their game but God is still in control and still has the last word. Very curious about the next book.
I loved this whole series. It’s God centered, but what an edge of the seat ride. They are full of suspense and intrigue. If you like clean thrillers, I highly recommend all of the books in the ‘The New Rulebook & Pete Zendel’ Series.
These books are clean Christian romance books. I loved them I couldn’t stop reading them until I finished all 9 books in the series.
I received ARC [Advanced Reader Copy] copies of the first three books in The New Rulebook Series. First, I want to say that I really enjoyed the books. I have read all of Ms. Ohagwu books and find her to be an excellent author. I know that many people read books and just see all kinds of grammatical errors, such as: misspelled words, tense irregularities, dangling participles or prepositions, and punctuation mistakes. HOWEVER, I’m a little bit different. When I read a book, especially one written by Joy Ohagwu, I become so engrossed in the story that I don’t see the individual words. Therefore, I don’t see any mistakes. I started reading Red, the first book in the series, and couldn’t put it down. Yes, the violence is not in most Christian books; however, these books are Christian Suspense not romance books. The storyline needs the violence to portray the evil that is the true character of Pete Zendel. I thoroughly enjoyed reading The New Rulebook Series. The characters are realistic and well thought out. As a Christian, I know that the battle between good and evil is real; therefore, I could relate to the characters and enjoy the books.
I had never heard of this author when I got this book. I stumbled onto it and after reading it, very quickly worked my way through the entire series. What a wonderful and wild ride. It took me through a gamut of emotions as the characters experienced life. Full of love, suspense and character growth this series is well written and worth the read.
Ruby is unwittingly thrown into a situation that puts her in danger. She can always count on her best friend Robert who comes to the rescue. What she didn’t count on is falling in love with him. There is much to overcome including navigating their inter-racial relationship as they seek to unravel the “New Rulebook” and stay alive in the process.
Throughout the series as danger lurks, a new faith grows in each of them. I like that the faith aspect wasn’t like a lightening strike where they both change at the same time. It was more of an individual journey and more realistic to me.
The secondary characters are complex and also well written adding to the overall excellence of the series.
This series had interesting and original plots, but were poorly developed without much depth. It felt like a rough draft of what could be a very good book if worked on, but not all that interesting in this stage.
read all the series in the New Rulebook. Keeps you going to see what happens. Intriguing.
