Finally read this and loved it! Full review to come.
Loved the story. And it’s believable. Stupid shit is done like this all this time for PR. One thing I didn’t like was I wish that they went after the guys who hurt Brit. They had photographs so obvi they could prove assault. Loved Stefan. He was awesome the genuine nice guy who was head over heels for Brit. And Brit is just kick ass.
Great Story & Listen StefanBrit a Pucking Golden Couple!

Gold Hockey, Book 1
By: Elise Faber
Narrated by: Lacy Laurel, Gregory Salinas
This is a great sports romance, it is well written with interesting and original storylines that captivated me from start to end. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. Brit always wanted to play professional hockey, she has faced several hurdles before landing a position in an NHL team, the San Francisco Gold. I admired her strength and determination to make it and how she handles her teammates, not wanting special treatment and wanting to be with the team at the cost of her privacy so she would not be kept out of the loop. Stefan, the teams captain takes a liking to Brit is not interested, besides he has a reputation to be a ladies man. I adored Stefan, he has a lot of heart, wants to do what is best for the team and looks out for his mom too. When management approached Brit and her coach and gives he a task to do, one she was not happy about but obliged to help the team and the coach. There is great chemistry between Brit and Stefan and the more they get to know each other the deeper it gets. But all goes to hell when secrets are revealed. This book is heavily plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, heartfelt moments and a hot romance. There are some great secondary characters and I am looking forward to their stories. Elise Faber, thank you for this pucking great story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They do an awesome job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. I loved Lacy Laurel’s Brit, she grasped her persona perfectly, Gregory Salinas’ Stefan was spot on too. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen

Great start to a hockey series! Love the way Brit is able to make it in a man’s world! Definitely recommend this book and series!
Britt’s goalie hockey skills and perseverance is put to the test. Getting romantically involved with a team member is dangerous to the team. The Management of the club has other ideas. Does Britt go along with their blackmail to lose her integrity and respect? Stefan has insecurities of his own! demons from his past resurfaces and haunts him. Can they reconcile their differences?
Lacey Laurel and Gregory Salinas narration is emotional and they keep the story flowing. audiobookobsessionreviewer
I love hockey books where the heroine also plays the sport.
Ooooo I love the way that Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas brought these characters to life is fantastic. They pulled me into the story and didn’t let me go.
I love the set up of this book, the woman in a man’s world and all she has to cope with and go through. It’s a new angle on ice hockey for me and I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed watching the characters and how they coped with everything going on around them and how their relationships built and what happened after. I love the way that Brit doesn’t take any crap from anyone yet she has a vulnerable side too. I just really enjoyed the story and would highly recommend it.
*Audiobook Review* I really enjoyed Blocked! I’m a huge hockey fan, and I loved the fact the Brit was making it in a male dominated sport! How many women out there are a goalie for the NHL? I’m going to say-zero!
Brit has what it takes to make it in the NHL. She has strong determination and definitely isn’t a pushover. She’s probably stronger than some men I know . She stands up for herself, and doesn’t let the guys take it easy on her because she is female. But, she’s has some bad experiences from a previous team she played for. To top that off, higher ups from her current team, brought there under false pretenses. They want her to date the captain of the San Francisco Gold, Stefan. Trust me when I say, it’s not a hardship. Dating him would be like winning the Stanley Cup . But, nothing ends well when you mix business with pleasure. What happens when her heart isn’t safe either?
Lacy and Gregory did a fantastic job bring Brit and Stefan’s characters to life!
Blocked by Elise Faber is a sports romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas.
This is the first book of Elise’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. You can’t help but fall in love with Brit and Stefan. I cannot wait to read more books from this series.

Gold Hockey, Book 1
By: Elise Faber
Narrated by: Lacy Laurel, Gregory Salinas
I was never interested in hockey until my Godson started to play. Now with an understanding of the game and some minor league games under my belt, I can truly appreciate a good hockey romance!! Elise Faber has crafted this first book in her Gold Hockey series to grab and keep you listening! Brit is new to the team, and as a female goalie has to prove herself. With grit and stamina, she is on her way to acceptance. Then management steps in and blackmails her into seducing the captain to get additional press for the team.Stefan is good looking, focused and guarded, but there is something about Brit that intrigues him. Will this couple get together? And at what cost? I really enjoyed this story. Not only does it give women a leg up in a men’s sport, but it shows acceptance and teamwork. Stefan is an amazing character. Though reserved, he has good values, has his priorities in order and proves to be a good man. Brit is spunky, and courageous to take on her dream. I loved the couple, the supporting characters both good and evil and can’t wait to hear Mike’s story next!
Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas bring this story to life. I can hear Laurel’s passion not only for the couple, but for the sport too! She finds Brit’s strength and vulnerability, letting us feel all her emotions from her decisions. Salinas has a smooth voice and he is the perfect Stefan. He is strong, yet soft as we can hear the difference from the locker room to his mother’s house. Together they create a fantastic story.

Blocked (Gold Hockey, Book 1) is a sports romance with a leading-edge unexampled mastery. I revel in how smoothly continuous of sports aspects that were creatively intertwined into the romance suspense aspects of the story. Sporty aspects involved playing on the ice hockey, locker room antics, and media blitz that were crossed with betrayal, suspense and romance. Supporting character’s whether you loved them or hated them they are a pyramid that brought out the sports camaraderie. One of the best aspects is the deep profound love of the game that is shown and a strong leading female with a equally strong male equal. This ended with epilogue that had throw for a loop. Looking forward to listening to the next audio in this sports romance series.
Narators Lacy Laurel, Gregory Salinas are finely tuned narrators. Their inflection flowed through smoothly throughout at the right pace. Lacy articulates her words in a way that exhuberates her abilities. Gregory put all his emotions into the part. Together, the story and characters were brought into existence.

Audio Review: Blocked (Gold Hockey, #1) by Elise Faber (Author), Lacy Laurel (Narrator), Gregory Salinas (Narrator)
Blocked deserves a perfect 10. Faber breaks down barriers with a great story. Brit is more than window dressing. She’s all heart. Behind her tough exterior, beats the heart of a battered soul. Her demons run deep, but so does her determination. Despite life’s hard knocks she finds the courage to follow her dreams and maybe, just maybe open her heart to more than the game she’s dedicated her life to. Through Blocked isn’t the average romance read, it definitely leaves it’s mark on the heart. Faber, Salinas, Laurel and Co. make it easy to cheer for the underdog.
Good story!
Who ever heard of an NHL goalie being a female? This book starts there and goes forward. The female is very gutsy and talented. Its a tale of how a female athlete fends in a male dominated world. She is no willowy model: she is close to 6 feet tall and weighs about 190! But, she also has a very female side that is lovely to read about.
Great
I really liked the characters Stefan and Brit. They have instant chemistry and even with their pasts they learn to trust and respect each other. Really liked the book and looking forward to reading the series.
Hooked on this series. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next one. Great read and I adore the characters.
This book is just okay. Very predictable with not much of a storyline. Very little sex.
