The sizzling-hot Caldwell Brothers series–perfect for readers of J. S. Scott and Emma Chase–hits the Vegas strip as a bad-boy gambler from Detroit Rock City shows a single mom what it means to play for keeps.
For Morrison Caldwell, life is a game of chance. A high roller with a legendary poker face, he’s the wild card of the family, always chasing the next thrill and never staying put for … never staying put for long. The one place that always lures him back is Las Vegas, with its hot tables and even hotter women. He’s perfectly content to live his life as a series of one-night stands. But when a parking lot confrontation with a cocktail waitress takes a naughty turn, she leaves Morrison aching for another round.
After a long losing streak in Sin City, Hailey Poe is ready to get lucky. A steamy tryst with a cocky, mysterious stranger is the kind of no-strings encounter she’s been craving . . . until Morrison Caldwell asks for more than she’s willing to offer. But when Hailey’s controlling, soon-to-be ex-husband tries to take her daughter away, she can’t afford to turn down a helping hand. In this winner-takes-all game, Morrison is gambling with Hailey’s life–and her heart.

Another Caldwell Brother
Morrison is the card shark and has had a rough go of it in his life. He isn’t looking for anything for more than one night stands…that is until Hailey comes into the picture. Hailey is married to a loan shark and has left him. She’s trying to pay off the debt he has on her and her daughter.
Morrison is the man for the job to help Hailey out. This is definitely a sizzler that you want to get your hands on.
A sinfully sensual, entertaining and charming story. Morrison and Hailey are absolutely perfection. Loved every single second of this story.
Morrison “Aces” Caldwell is the second brother. He was brought up by a loving mother and abusive drink of a father. He stays in Detroit often when visiting his two brothers and helps out at his brother, Hendrix’s bar and when he needs more money he heads back to Vegas where he has a condo and he gambles.
Hailey “Hard Knocks” Poe is a wife to a loan shark. She’s had a rough get go from life. She has a three year daughter Marisa who means the world to her. Her husband, Sean “Monte” Timmons throws them out but she owes him. Everything is about “checks and balances.”
One night after work and after some gambling Hailey and Morrison meet and sparks fly. Their chemistry is hot. He finds out who she’s married to. Does Morrison stay and help when she’s in need of help or does he walk away?
Hailey wants to break the mold. She wants better for her daughter. But can she escape Monte and his control over her. Morrison wants nothing to do with a relationship. One woman is just like another, no different. They are all the same. That is until he meets Hailey. Once he has a taste of her, he is done for. She owns him. She is unlike anyone he has ever been with and from their first time he knows she has to be his and he will do anything to protect her and get her away from Monte.
I could not put this story down. Once I started, I was hooked. MJ Fields does it again. Never disappointing her readers. Always giving them stories that are beyond the stars. Morrison and his brothers are men who could have gone to the dark side so to speak but rather they made their momma’s final plea come true. They are men that she would be so proud of. Their upbringing was not one for fairytales. Their stories inspire. Never settle, always strive to be better and stronger. A lesson learned by all three and one they pass on to their significant others.
5 Platinum Stars
I can’t get enough of the Caldwell’s. Morrison loves playing cards and going back to Vegas he finds someone worth fighting for. Hailey has had it rough with her mom being a prostitute, Hailey wanted to get her and her mom out and goes to a poker game where she meets Monte and her life is forever changed. Wanted a good life for her and her daughter, she will do anything to be finally free. Her life will change when she meets Morrison. Love the Caldwell’s and can’t wait to read Jagger.

Morrison , book 2 in the Caldwell series…
Morrison, a player of all things important to himself until he meets Hailey …..
Hailey’s life is difficult , sad and just darn hard .
Both their lives change completely, they take their time and great things happen.
Can they see a future together?
Read and find out.
Written well by MJ Fields & Chelsea Cameron , these Caldwell brothers are all about family ……
Morrison is book #2 in the Caldwell Brothers series and focuses on the ‘middle’ brother
Morrison aka Aces, is a card shark, trying to earn enough money to give him the life his mother would have wished for them.
A manwhore, Morrison isn’t looking to settle down, but just like Hendrix, when that person crosses your path you’re hard pushed to ignore it.
Hailey has had a rough start to live, the daughter of a prostitute, married off young to a loan shark – Monte, who won’t let her go easily – all she wants is to give her young daughter a good life, when Monte threatens their daughter she needs to escape.
I loved that Hailey was a strong character and that Morrison saw the vulnerability in her – the love and loyalty of the Caldwell family still shows through – another read
The second book in the Caldwell Brothers series, this romance story features a hot, dirty-talking, bad-boy poker player and a feisty, single mother cocktail waitress. Morrison is well written with great characters, drama, twists, sizzling chemistry, action, hot scenes, LOL moments, and of course, a HEA.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
I received this ARC for an honest review and I loved the book! Morrison/ Aces is a character. He had a rough life but doesn’t let it get him down. He meets Hailey and is totally enamored with her. She has had an even tougher life and doesn’t want nothing to do with him. He put in the effort and proves to her that is worth it! Thank you again to MJ Fields and Chelsea Camaron for another fabulous read! I couldn’t put it down.
Morrison has always been the wild card of the Caldwell brothers. He is a gambler in Vegas with a penchant for hot women. He meets cocktail waitress Hailey in a parking lot. The two end up having a sexy, hot one night stand that leaves Morrison wanting more from her. Hailey never planned to see Morrison again until her ex takes their daughter and she needs his help to get her back. This is a steamy, drama and action filled read.
This is the second book in the Caldwell brothers series. This can easily be read as a stand alone, however, I always recommend reading a series in order, as this book will provide spoilers for the first one (Hendrix) and we do meet Morrison in the first book so it will give you an early insight into his character.
On the surface Morrison appears to be a much more open and lighter character than his older brother and for that reason, I found it much easier to connect with his character. He has alpha male qualities but most prominent is the fact that he’s a solid good guy.
For every man, there’s a lady and in this instance, we’re introduced to Hailey. As we get to know Hailey, we realise that she has not had a great start to life and she immediately draws you in and has her routing for her.
Morrison and Hailey are both more than likeable characters. I loved the pull and push between them and the way they gradually build each other up and break down their barriers. I would say that I would have liked more of a glimpse into their emotional connection as a couple earlier on, but they clearly have great chemistry and their scenes together are smoking.
Morrison is a Steamy Romance, however, it also has a real dramatic storyline running through it. I found it to be a real page turner and finished this in one sitting. It’s also laced with humour throughout and a cute three year old to make you awww. If I were to grumble at all, it would be that I felt the Casino scene in the middle could have amped the angst and drama up a notch or two but picky grumbles.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book and this series to date and would happily recommend it.
I’m really looking forward to Jagger next.
It is hard to believe Hailey was able to get away from her past. Could not believe how Morrison and Hailey meet. There attraction was instant. Morrison really put himself out there to help Hailey and Marisa. The Caldwell family really look out for each other. So glad Hailey and Morrison found each other. Morrison is such a caring loving person. Glad Hailey finally realized what she needed. A must read.

I really enjoy the brothers- strong alpha males with a tough heartbreaking childhood. Not surprising their partners will be just as strong. This was a dark story so at times it was difficult – sometimes too difficult and unbelievable for every day life. This story had more depth in both the characters and the story line than the first book. I enjoyed it and liked the flow. I look forward to Jagger’s story next.
