Elizabeth knows what’s expected of her, perfection. She’s the daughter of an Earl and expected to marry well, say and do the right things with a smile on her face when inside she’s dying for a chance to escape. Thanks to an inheritance her godmother left her years ago, her chance will come with her next birthday. Her hopes of escape abruptly end when Robert, her childhood nemesis that she hasn’t … hasn’t seen in over fourteen years, comes back into her life and does everything he can to drive her out of her mind even as he steals her heart.
He hated her.
At least, he tried to hate her, but it was so damn difficult to hate someone that he couldn’t live without. He tried to ignore her, tried to focus on anything but her, but nothing worked. Somehow she made her way into his heart and started to make him want things that he never thought possible, made him smile and laugh even while she drove him out of his mind and started a legacy by turning him into…..
A Bradford.

This book was great, I just loved reading Robert & Elizabeth and what started the Bradford saga, I may even think they are my favorite couple, such a sweet and funny story.
Great book. Loved that it was historical for the Bradfords!
I love the Bradfords
Whatever this author writes read it ! The books are laugh out loud funny, steamy and a joy to read and re-read. I own every book she has written and they are a delight !!!
Another great story
This series has totally stolen my heart. The stories all have romance and fun. Everyone has funny over the top situations that cause compulsive giggling. They have HEAs and this one is not any different. I would say that every one has also caused my sensitive self to tear, this one caused crying. I love this series and Truce definitely keeps the series going. (
I love this series so I was so glad that another book was added to it. Robert he can be considerate at times, “if that’s what you wish, but I should give you my name in case,” his gaze dropped to her stomach. “you and I made a child tonight,” he finished quietly.” He really does care for Elizabeth and it shows in just how passionate that boy can be, “minx?” he asked breathlessly as she deepened the kiss. Good God, they were going to make love in the kitchen, he realized with a possessive growl as he took over the kiss.” And he shows the utmost love for her at the right moments when she needs it the most, “Elizabeth was curled up on her side. She looked like an angel, his angel. His minx. He had to hold her. Now. He raised the covers and crawled beneath them.” I really hope there’s more books to come in this series.
Love R.L. Mathewson’s Neighbors from Hell series! Always funny, loving, and full of charismatic characters
I have to start by saying that I haven’t read a historical romance in years but this was wonderful! I love these Bradford men!
It takes us back to the beginning to where it all started for the Bradford men.
It begins with Elizabeth at 7 and Robert at 12 and the battle of the sexes is in full swing between these two! The families are friends and they have a hysterical way of dealing each other.
It picks up years later at a chance meeting between the two of them at a party. Elizabeth is now 23 and Robert is 28, neither knows who the other is and the sparks fly. Robert has no interest in the women that his mother is hand picking for him. They are emotionally, sexually and intellectually not stimulating to him. Elizabeth vows to never marry and have a husband controlling her. Once they figure out who the other is the banter is hysterical and refreshing. Can Elizabeth find a man that will love her independence and stubbornness and can she love him back? Does Robert have it in him to forget the past and start new? You will have to see for yourself.
