Gaston battled for duty and honor—until his new wife tempted him to fight for her love.
Gaston has had his fill of war and the Latin Kingdoms when he learns that he has inherited his father’s estate in France. He accepts one last quest for the Templars, the order he has served for fifteen years, and agrees to deliver a package to Paris on his way home. A practical man, Gaston knows he now has … now has need of a wife and an heir, so when a lovely widowed noblewoman on pilgrimage catches his eye, he believes he can see matters solved to their mutual convenience.
But Ysmaine is more than a pilgrim enduring bad luck. She has buried two husbands in rapid succession, both of whom died on her nuptial night, and believes herself cursed. Accepting the offer of this gruff knight seems doomed to result in his demise, but Gaston is dismissive of her warnings and Ysmaine finds herself quickly wed again—this time to a man who is not only vital, but determined to remain alive.
Neither of them realize that Gaston’s errand is one of peril, for the package contains the treasure of the Templars—and some soul, either in their party or pursuing it, is intent upon claiming the prize for his or her own, regardless of the cost. In a company of strangers with secrets, do they dare to trust each other and the love that dawns between them?

Loved this book. Wished it would never end. Loved the characters.
Ending was lacking! Story was wonderful. I was so disappointed that the the story did not tell of Gastons return to his ancestral home.
A good happily ever after book. Well written story wonderful characters. A book that holds your attention.
Love the characters and strength of the women in the story
The mindset of Pilgrims and Crusaders, which is so different from ours, is excellently drawn in this series. While the places and lifestyle of medieval Europe are described, it is the hopes and prayers (and romance!) of the characters which drive the readers emotions to peaks and valleys.
Exceptional read!
“The Crusader’s Bride” (nook version) has an intense story line which kept me engrossed. I love that both Gaston and Ysmaine try to stay true to their high moral standards. The deceptions each undertakes is to aid and protect each other and adds to the angst. A great story.
Great story and interesting characters
I read the whole Crusaders series and loved it!
I really enjoyed this historical romance. This took place in a part of history, that I have heard little about. I voluntarily chose to review this, and I’ve given it a 5* rating. This had a lot of things going on in this. This was when the English were not allowed to celebrate Christmas. The heroine called this in the story, a Christmas miracle.
I really enjoyed this book. Good romance, and a really good mystery to solve.
Stopped reading in the middle. Main characters just kept covering the same ground, same issues. Not much plot progress, mostly annoying each other. Got bored. Might go back later as I really like the author.
The lead male character was not depicted in a strong light, but it was an okay read.
This book was unrealistic (don’t want to give away the plot) in and left me wondering about the ending – supposed toread the next in the series to find out if they arrive ‘home’?
