If you were to pass me on the street, you probably wouldn’t even look twice. I’m that normal. I’m just like you, only wealthier. I have it all. The kids, the family, the dog, a house on the hill. Hell—I’m so cliché, I even have a white picket fence. I guess you could say that I’ve dotted my I’s and crossed my T’s. But what I also have—what no one sees in yoga, or at Nieman Marcus, or during the … the dreadful Ladies Who Lunch charity events I attend (because only God knows why), and perhaps most importantly, in the school pick up line—are secrets.
Deep, dark, deadly secrets.
We all keep secrets, don’t we? We all have thoughts in our heads, things we do, things about us that if people knew, they’d be shocked…right? Well, what if one day we just decided to let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.
What if we decided to let the whole world in on our dirty little secrets? And what if along the way, as we were spilling those secrets, we realized that things aren’t always what they seem and with that knowledge, it changed the whole story?
In this book, I’m laying it all out there. The unraveling of my life. My coming undone. What one might’ve seen had they been paying attention.
What I’ve found in life is people often believe lies before they’ll believe the truth. Well, here it is, in a nutshell. I’ll let you decide which is which.

I liked the beginning and the end of the book. I almost gave up in the middle because of the inconsistencies of the story and lack of character development, but it wasn’t bad overall
I thought it unnecessary to add the “gay factor” to the husband’s character.
Also, predictable ending.
I loved the first third of the book, and then I intensely hated it. The male character’s behaviour was beyond what I could tolerate for where the book was going.
Good read
I liked the main character and how she overcame her adversities. It didn’t have the usual fairy tale ending but liked the more true to life ending. Always shows that one can overcome their problems.
This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time and cannot wait to read more of your work!
This one definitely needed a proofreader. It should have been recounted, not recanted. It should have been vial, not vile.
I didn’t expect it to be romantic, but it was. The characters had so much more depth than I expected. It kept me up reading way too late. I do recommend this book.
Typical romance
Very complex, as well as a fast and interesting read.
An unusual and interesting novel
I really enjoyed the writing style Britney uses, can’t wait to read more of her works, great character development and fresh writing!
One the best books I’ve read in a long time. It was like being in an emotional roller coaster that you don’t want to end.
I just loved this book, I could not put it down. Ended so sad. I could read over and over again. A must read.
Was very predictable, afterwards I wanted my time back.
I did not like it.
It is not often I find a book that has everything I look for.
Great Author!
I was quite taken by this one. Didn’t expect it to but it turned out to be a very rewarding love story. The two main characters were amazing. I loved their honesty – fiction yes…but the author gave the two such integrity and strength….and I could believe it was true…. o my gosh…there was heart raising joy and heart stomping sorrow…and so hugely satisfying….I cried tears o joy and of deep sorrow. Beautiful story.
Just realized I have read other books she has written. This book was a tragic, but also a beautiful love story. The characters are so real. Just ordered two more of her books.
