NATIONAL BESTSELLERAn engaging no-holds-barred memoir that reveals Howie Mandel’s ongoing struggle with OCD and ADHD—and how it has shaped his life Howie Mandel is one of the most recognizable names in entertainment. But there are aspects of his personal and professional life he’s never talked about publicly—until now. Twelve years ago, Mandel first told the world about his “germophobia.” He’s … his “germophobia.” He’s recently started discussing his adult ADHD as well. Now, for the first time, he reveals the details of his struggle with these challenging disorders. He speaks candidly about the ways his condition has affected his personal life—as a son, husband, and father of three. Along the way, the versatile performer reveals “the deal” behind his remarkable rise through the show-business ranks, sharing never-before-told anecdotes about his career.
As heartfelt as it is hilarious, Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me is the story of one man’s effort to draw comic inspiration out of his darkest, most vulnerable places.

A quick easy read about a funny little man. Sometimes heartbreaking
I would not recommend reading this to children or in public for that matter. I chose to read the book, because I wanted to better understand ADHD. I now have a much greater understanding of how it affects people’s lives. That said, if I hadn’t really needed to understand this condition, I’d have put the book down, because parts of it were shocking and vulgar. That said, I think it was another sign of the impulse control issues that stem from the ADHD. Parts of the book were hilarious; others were cringe worthy. I came away understanding ADHD and OCD much better, and grateful that Howie was brave enough to share his story. I think this book will help others better understand their friends and family who also deal with ADHD and impulse control issues.
I wanted too read this book because my husband has some emotional issues, and my kids have some issues (like OCD) and I wanted to get a better perspective on what they may go through. I found this very informative, as well as humorous at times. I listened to it on audio book, read by Howie, and I think that made it even better.
Boring . I left it unfinished. I rarely quit reading a book, but this was not enjoyable.
There were so many hilarious stories about Howie’s life I laughed until tears were running down my face!
Well written, witty but serious, and very informative. Howie Mandel was brave to be so honest. His details were very informative and important to inform.
loved it. love howie Mandell
a better than average “star” book. somewhat self-deprecating…but not searching for sympathy. humorous. all the things one likes about h. mandel come thru….respectful, observant, witty, spontaneous (as much as possible in book form). just an enjoyable read.
wonderful.
Howie is brutally honest in this book which is admirable and interesting. Reading about the real man behind the comedy at first repulsed me then after consideration makes me want to see him in more shows. I used to wonder if him not shaking hands was just a joke. Now I feel bad about him being mesmerized into shaking a man’s hands on America’s Got Talent years after this book was written. God bless you Howie.
