By book two in this series I’ve fallen in love with the Walker Family and Maple Grove.
I was introduced to Melissa Tagg when I read Now and Then and Always. Now, I’m working backwards so to speak with the Walker Family series and I’m loving every minute of it. I listened to this in audio form and the narrator is great. The story is very engaging and really helps me pass the time as I work around the house. I love how Melissa Tagg brings two people with similar struggles that the other can help, support and compliment the other person. These were real people with real problems and trials. I’ve fallen in love with Maple Valley and enjoy reading about the Walker family. I think it’s wonderful the other family members and townspeople make appreances in the story. The secondary characers really help round out and move the plot.
Melissa Tagg is on my list of “automatic purchase” authors because of her charm, wit, and heart.
“Like Never Before” (Book 2 in the Maple Valley series) is a Contemporary Romance that will make you smile and wish you could move to Maple Valley posthaste. I love the fun dynamics of the Walker family! Logan Walker is my favorite Tagg hero thus far while “history geek” heroine Amelia Bentley brought a fun element of mystery to the plot. Highly recommend!
Absolutely loved this book! The main characters, the whole Walker family, the pull-you-in-and-make-you-part-of-the-family small town with its odd but delightful traditions, the challenges the characters face and the way they really work through them and the laugh out loud situations and conversations they have. Melissa Tagg writes the most delightful romances and yet I come away feeling as if God’s been teaching me right alongside the characters. Highly, highly recommend to anyone who loves a really well written romance.
This story is so sweet! I loved seeing Amelia fight to save the paper and Logan trying to help his daughter. There are so many sweet moments in this book. Especially the ending!
Another fun Iowa-based romance, I loved picking up with the Walker family and seeing what would happen. Tagg did a great job of keeping the same feeling/atmosphere as the first book while also creating new, as equally engaging characters. A fun read!
Like Never Before is a story of facing the pain of the past and dealing with it so that you can face the future unencumbered and with hope. Amelia is trying to hide from the pain she encountered in her past and that means keeping walls up around the hurt and not letting anyone get past those walls. But God wants her free so He can direct her into a joyful future. Logan has used work and busyness to not have to face his own past. He has plans for his future and he plans to stick to them. Until God strips him of all those things so He can offer him something precious. It was a pleasure to be allowed to watch as both Logan and Amelia are pursued by a loving, healing, redemptive God until they both surrender to Him and the joy He has in store for them. Great read with both wisdom and humor mixed in as well as wonderful dashes of swoonworthy romance.
Sometimes I feel like Melissa Tagg writes books just for me. Romance and chemistry? Check. Witty banter? Check. Fabulous kissing scenes? Check. Elements of faith? Check. References to classic movies I love? Triple check. This book had ALL THE FEELS and fabulous well-developed characters. Melissa Tagg has a way of drawing the reader in and submerging them in her book-world and her character’s lives. I can’t wait to dive in to the next one in the series.
