Same story…updated cover!Living in Southern California, Cheyenne was used to seeing hot military men as she went about her daily business. An anonymous encounter at the grocery store cemented her crush on one such man. He was big, built, and incredibly easy on the eyes, but it wasn’t as if he would ever really notice her.Always in control of any situation, Faulkner “Dude” Cooper knows … Faulkner “Dude” Cooper knows explosives. As a bomb expert, he’s lived through many high pressure situations. Disfigured by a bomb while on a mission, he’s used to being looked at with pity. When he’s called to a local supermarket to assist the local PD, the last thing he expects to find is a generous act of kindness performed by a beautiful, amazing woman. Enchanted by her selflessness in the face of danger and intrigued by her actions to save civilians she didn’t know, Dude’s hooked.
Dude was able to save Cheyenne from the group of thugs trying to take her life, but when the past comes back to haunt them both, sometimes having the knowledge and the desire isn’t enough to beat the countdown of the clock.
**Protecting Cheyenne is the 5th book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s recommended you read the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

Ok, I admit it, Dude makes me swoon! Susan Stoker wrote an amazing book! It was so cool the way Cheyenne grew through the book, with Dude’s help, into a much stronger woman. The way she uses his first name, Faulkner, instead of his nickname, Dude; and the way he keeps calling her Shy, which she kinda is at the beginning of the book, . Totally love “Protecting Cheyenne”.
This is my favorite story in this series. I love Dude and Cheyenne and the way they meet is definitely great. I loved how Dude was with Cheyenne. Cheyenne has a terrible mother and sister and I am glad she is able to see what she does for a living is so wonderful. I also loved that there was always a different chapstick flavor. The chemistry between these 2 was great and their story had a great suspense aspect. I have read this book at least 4 times now because it is so good.
Oh my goodness this story brings a totally new meaning to “explosive”. Absolutely loved Dude and Cheyenne. Dude is definitely one of my favorite Alphas from Susan Stoker.
This series keeps getting better by the book. Dude and Cheyenne literally hit it of at their first meeting, when he saves her life from being blown up. Bossy Dude doesn’t take no for an answer and Cheyenne is just to mesmerized than die anything else than obey. Such a wonderful story, that doesn’t lack suspens.
I thoroughly enjoyed Dude, Falconer and Cheyenne’s story. After reading some of the reviews; I was skeptical about it but went ahead. I’m glad I did. Some of the reviews had some merits in that there is a predictability to the stories and seem to follow a sort of formula to each story. For me right now, even knowing that, it is entertaining.
There are certain aspects I don’t appreciate; the emphasis on drinking, getting drunk, and the girls night in or out. I would think they are old enough to not need to get drunk to have fun but I over look all that to the characters. The characters are strong and love intensely.
Stella Bloom did a great job portraying the characters and narration was top notch.
Can’t read Ms. Stoker’s Seal/Delta Books fast enough. Great story lines, throw in a little suspense, a little romance and a HEA!
The control factors in the bedroom was a turn off on the story line and the characters.
While Protecting Cheyenne does not have as much hard hitting action as other books in this series there are suspenseful, tense, hold you breath moments that will capture your attention. Cheyenne Cotton is at the wrong place at the wrong time and gets caught up in a life endangering event. Fortunately for her Faulkner “Dude” Cooper is on tap to save her. He knows almost immediately that she is his “one.” Finding what works for them takes time and effort because of past family dynamics. But loving one another comes as naturally as breathing.
Berrylicious
Faulkner is the next Dude off limits. When he’s called in by the local PD to help out with a possible bomb threat, he didn’t realise that he would meet the woman of his dreams. Cheyenne is a 911 operator who answers the phones when someone calls in an emergency….but never did she think the military man she liked, would be the man disarming a bomb that’s strapped to her at their local grocery store
Endless suspense and action in this book and I loved Cheyenne and all her flavoured lip gloss and also how she has no filter at odd times….very funny
Love this series. All stand alone but all the other books in the series adds to the current read. Navy Seals to the rescue!
this book was great!!!!! I couldn’t stop reading!!!!!!!!
Whew! Lots of exciting and scary things happen to Cheyenne. Faulkner (Dude) is there to save her, not just from horrible situations but also horrible people. I love these characters, there’s a heroine that doesn’t realize how fantastic she is jut by being herself (and haven’t we all thought that at one point or another in our lives), a fantastic over the top alpha male that will do anything to keep her safe and has his own insecurities. A wonderful story-line and writing, this book was so worth the re-read and it is definitely helping to cure my book funk. Fabulous story Susan Stoker!
I love all of her books! If you have never read her books – you need to start – NOW!!! You’ll love how all the characters fit together, they are part of a SEAL team, a brotherhood and the women they fall for are so strong and sometimes just down on their luck. Love Cheyenne and Dude – great book.
You don’t have to but read them in order – the women get to know each other as the books continue!
SEAL Faulkner “Dude” Cooper is a demolition expert. Cheyenne is a 911 operator. They meet under explosive circumatances. Protecting Cheyenne by Susan Stoker can be read as a standalone but I strongly recommend, as does Susan, that the series be read in the order written.
Susan Stoker has wonderful characters, people you would want as friends. The SEALs are hot alpha protectors and their ladies are kickass heroines. I have laughed out loud and cried at the situations they find themselves. The hot bedroom scenes will steam up your ereader and keep you reading late into the night.
Thanks Susan for sharing you stories with us.
WOW! Scary events and all without leaving the state. Explosive chemistry between Dude and Cheyenne! Love the friendships and relationships between the SEALs and their women! And I’ve never laughed so hard at word vomit before! I’m loving this series!
Living in Southern California, Cheyenne found that there never was a shortage of hot military men to be seen. And she actually managed to develop a crush on one that she came to see at the store she shopped.
Faulkner “Dude” Cooper expertise was in explosives, he was a bomb expert and during his tour in the Navy as a Seal he had come across many situation. In one case he was disfigured by a bomb while trying to dismantle it.
This day he is called by the local PD, of all the things that could happen this one was one that he did not count on, he met an amazing woman who in act of courage and kindness that totally enchanted him. And Dude is totally hooked, by this enchanting woman, Dude is able to save her but as usual the past comes back to haunt them both. Will he be able to save her and the others, another amazing story with super fantastic characters.
In this book you have a seal who is a bomb expert. You also have a woman who has been “beat down” by her family (anything she has ever done is NEVER good enough). I enjoyed this book, because from the moment they meet, she does everything she can as a selfless person. Me, I’d have run into the crows, just out of being scared crapless. I wouldn’t have the forethought to get away from as many people as I could.
Dude/Faulkner being the “Dom” that he is (he is NOT a hard core dom at all) is able to keep her calm. He turns off (lol) the bomb and everything goes like it should. Oh, wait until you see what happens when she gets any kind of painkiller. HILARIOUS!!!!!
I totally enjoyed this book! It has fun parts and it has serious parts. It is a good mix of both. I don’t understand why there are low reviews. This is such a fun book!
So after impatiently waiting for this book to come out, I finished it in about 4 hours and now have to wait for Jessyka’s story! I loved the story of Cheyenne and Duke.
Cheyenne is just your normal, everyday woman who wishes for a happy ever after. She gets taken hostage in a grocery store and a bomb strapped to her chest. This is where Duke comes in. After admiring her cool, under the pressure attitude while he’s trying to dismantle the bomb, he’s impressed enough to follow up on her. You learn Cheyennes story and why she is how she is. Duke can’t get enough of her and moves along at a quick pace getting to know her better.
I liked that the book didn’t start out with them immediately jumping into sex, but that they took the time to get to know each other first. However, that didn’t stop the pages from heating up with their interactions. When they finally did make love, I had to turn the fan on!
I liked the quick pace of the book, it didn’t slow down for a minute. The interaction between Cheyenne and the other ladies as well as the team members made you feel immediately that she was accepted as one of them. The twists and turns near the end of the book kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out how they would handle everything. Ms. Stoker worked it out perfectly! Loved the book as much as the rest of the series and can’t wait for the next one!
