Kason “Benny” Sawyer was the last single man on his Navy SEAL team. He loved his teammates like brothers and respected each and every one of their women. They’d all been through hell and they deserved their current happiness. But seeing the love between his friends and their women made it tough to be the odd man out all the time.Jessyka Allen had a good life, until it wasn’t anymore. Finding … Finding herself in an impossible situation, with no noticeable way out, her job was an escape. Working at the small Bar and Grill put her in contact with some wonderful people, who Jess figured couldn’t ever understand what she was going through.
Being a SEAL, Benny thought he knew the true meaning of teamwork and friendship. But Jess would show him that everything he thought he knew about sacrifice, trust, and love, paled in comparison to what she brought into his world.
**Protecting Jessyka is the 6th book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s recommended you read the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

I love this entire series and the personal obstacles that people overcome and lovers don’t see as a problem.
FAN-TAB-ULOS!! This is another GREAT story by Susan Stoker! I adore her stories and this is one of her best!! This is Benny and Jess’ story! It is heartbreaking and emotional and is also filled with hope and love! And, the suspense was perfect!!

Jessyka has always been there when the team went to Ace’s bar. She never thought that she would capture the attention of one of the handsome military guys.
Benny couldn’t stop thinking about Jess and how she grimaced when he held her arm. He noticed that her light had dimmed a little. He naturally wanted to know what was wrong. After getting Jess to open up about her abusive boyfriend, Benny tells her that any time she needed a friend he’s always there.
Jess texts Benny one day that she needs him, and he instantly drops everything to go to her.
I loved that they started out as friends looking out for each other, then have it develop for more. It was nice to see the last man on the team find a woman for himself. It was an unpredictable twist when it was one of the men who got taken this time, so it showed every man on the team that not only the women can get in trouble but one of them as well.
Once again Susan shows us that no matter how you look, what’s in your heart is all that matters.
So Jessyka is a waitress that works at ACE’s bar and grill. She is the SEAL’s favorite waitress there. The gang had started noticing that something was going on with her. Jessyka had started covering up and living in Southern California it was strange to wearing jeans, long sleeve shirts and turtle neck shirt was out of character for her. One day Benny couldn’t take it anymore, so he went to the bar to figure out what is going on with her. Once Benny got there he found and saved her from dropping a trey of empties all over herself and the floor. Benny told her that he would take her home after her shift was over because he wanted to talk to her to find out what is going on with her. Jess told him everything that was going on with her and that she had to find a new place to live because her ex-boyfriend was kicking her out. One night Benny gets a call from a frightened Jess, so he stopped everything that he was doing to go to her. When he had found her she had been beaten. Benny takes her to the hospital so that they can document all the bruises and marks on her body. When Benny is asked to step out of the room for a minute, he calls his team and explain what is going on. One of team members will get the bag that she packed before she gotten beaten. Once everything is done at the hospital Benny takes her back to his place and tells her that she a place to live for as long as she wants. One of team members came over the next day with her bag and he was made as all crap when he saw the bruises and marks on her body. That’s when Wolf and the rest of the guys deiced to go and get the rest of her stuff from there. Benny had taken a week off to be with Jess to let her know that he would always keep her safe. Jess had also gotten a week off of work to heal from her injuries.
It only gets better from there. Can’t wait to Melody in the next book !!!
Benny finally gets his chance for a woman. Jessyka is in an abusive relationship, but she doesn’t leave because fo Tabitha, Brian’s neice. Benny wants to be her friend and help anyway he can. There’s plenty of danger, heat and HEA.
A good read. Very entertaining. Loved the couple. As usual good chemistry between them made the whole story. Can’t wait to read Tex’s story.
Susan Stoker does love her damsels in distress. We’ve seen it in different ways throughout this series. This one was special. Kason ‘Benny’ is the last of this group to fall, and he didn’t see it coming. Their regular waitress Jess has some obvious issues, she wore the marks physically and mentally of an abused woman. Jess is an independent woman and doesn’t like asking for help…until it’s almost too late. The SEALS swoop in and save the day, or do they?
Revenge will bring danger to this couple and the last chapters kept me glued. Loved every moment of this story.
“Protecting Jessyka” is the sixth book in the SEAL of Protection series and it is time for Kason “Benny Sawyer to get his chance at a happily ever after. All of his teammates have found happiness with a woman and while Benny is not jealous he does hate being the odd man out when they are all together. Who would have thought that a woman with a slight limp that he had known for a while would be the one to bring him to his knees? Jessyka Allen works at Aces Bar & Grill and usually waits on the Seal team when they come in, but lately Benny has noticed that she seems off, something is not right with her and he just wants to help in any way he can. Jessyka has a reason for staying in less than suitable conditions and that reason is Tabitha and that is all I am going to say on that subject, you will just have to read it. Jess is not one to ask for help but sometimes you gotta do things you don’t want to do, and she eventually has to take Benny up on his offer.
This is an emotional read that pulled at my heartstrings and I am sure it will yours. Finally all of the members of this SEAL team have met their match, well except for Tex!!
Benny doesn’t like the way Jessyka flinched when he touched her arm, so he goes up to Aces one night and makes sure she know he is her friend and there for her. Good thing because soon after she calls because she needs him. And Benny quickly finds he loves everything about her, from her sense of humor to the way she walks due to being born with one leg slightly shorter than the other; and for Jess, well who wouldn’t fall for Benny, SEAL, genuinely great guy, he protects her and he cooks! This is such an amazing book, Susan Stoker is awesome.
Such a wonderful story. I love how Kason first saved Jessyka and then she turned right around and saved him.
Oh my. Jessyka – with a yka – seems to be at the end of her rope with no idea what do to… So it’s a very welcome gesture from Kason, aka Benny, to want to be her friend… But when her past comes back to her, not only her life is in jeopardy but Benny’s as well and it’s up to his teammates to come to the rescue… Such a wonderful story.
It was terrific getting to know Jessyka. She has been in the background throughout the series and had me wondering about her, and hoping she would be ‘the one’ for one of the guys. It was good to see that Kasen/Benny noticed the change in Jessyka and take action to find out why. Jessyka seems to fit in as though she was always there.
Stella Bloom did another awesome job narrating. I’m so glad she has toned down Caroline through the last few stories. She is much more likeable now.
Kason “Benny” Sawyer is the last unattached man on his SEAL team and he’s struggling with that. Jessyka Allen has become a familar because her character has appeared throughout this series. Their romance varies from all of the other couples in that it is not love at first sight. Rather they become friends first and then lovers. This romance does have an unusual twist but it is no less entertaining than all the rest.
Good character development and treatment of the cloak of silence surrounding sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Kason/Benny and Jess
Jess is the waitress at the SEALs favourite bar, Aces. Benny notices one night something’s wrong….especially when he thinks back to their interactions with Jess from when they first started coming to the bar. Benny interacts with Jess to see if she will trust him to help her.
Jess has an abusive roommate, who also happens to be an ex. He’s given her a timeframe to vacate the place where she lives with him and unfortunately before this can happen, things go pear shaped. She calls on Benny to help her, which he does
Love this story and keen as mustard to find out what Tex is up to next in finding Melody
Oooh! I love Jessyca and Kason’s (Benny) story. There’s a crappy ex-boyfriend/troll (who is truly evil), abuse, a death (not one of the SEAL’s or their women), more than one confrontation, along with an absolutely fantastic heroine and hero. I loved the little bit of a twist in this story, and no I’m not going to tell you what it is. An engaging story-line, top notch writing and characters I adore. Wonderful story Susan Stoker!
I am loving this series! I can’t get enough reading time in. I have to know what drama happens with each SEAL as they find “their” woman! In Kason’s (Benny) case, she was there in front of him all along. Things seem to move quickly for Kason & Jessyks, but trouble was laying low. Another fabulous story!
Kason “Benny” Sawyer was the last single man on his Navy SEAL team. He loved his job and his teammates like they were his brothers and in this circle were also the woman who were with his brothers. But after seeing the love they had for each other Benny felt like the odd man there and was considering leaving the team.
Jessyka Allen had a good life, but now that life was no longer as good as it had been, in a position that she found really hard to leave, she did not have enough money saved to be able to move or even leave Cali, and she believed that none of the super nice people she knew from work could come close to understanding what she was going through.
Benny thought he knew the true meaning of teamwork and friendship. But Jess would show him that everything he thought he knew about sacrifice, trust, and love, paled in comparison to what she brought into his world.
If anyone was ever in a abusive relationship or lived with someone who abused them will empathize with what Jessyka is going through, it brought some bad memories for me, but like her , we can overcome what has happened, specially when you have someone who has your back and can protect you.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! It was such a great read!! I got to catch up on some of the other characters, but seeing Benny find “his one”, was amazing! I kept me hooked all the way through! I even stayed up late to finish the book, since I just COULDN’T go to sleep with 1 or 2 chapters remaining. IT WAS WORTH THE LOSS OF SLEEP!!! Jessyka is such a badass in her own right, as much as the others were. Susan Stoker’s protection Series is AWESOME!! I am so glad I came upon her, while looking for other books to read. She has NOT disappointed me yet!!
I started the book at about 8p and couldn’t put it down until I read it all the way through! I was worried about how the author would handle any situations in the newest Protecting book and was surely surprised with the twist in this one. I’ve always loved strong heroines and all the women in the series certainly are that, but Jessyka goes beyond even them with what she has been through and still deals with. I believe I’ve found my favorite in the series! (At least until we see what Tex comes up with!)
