Ruby is desperate for one last escape before her wedding, and Callum is never short of schemes. But will he be able to give her up once their adventure on the high seas comes to an end?
A steamy pirate novella that is sure to be an adventure!

Pride writes strong, dashing and daring heroes that make you go weak in the knees and so it goes with this swashbuckling tale of a noble Scottish pirate and the woman who stole his heart.
I loved this action packed adventure story! Be it a full length novel or novella Mia packs it all in. Her characters are beautifully created. Ruby was a delightful character, a young woman longing for adventure and when faced with the opportunity she took it. Callum Campbell is that delicious opportunity!
Chemistry explodes and passions and emotions flow in this wondrous story filled with excitement, betrayal, romance and fun. If I had any complaint at all it’s only that the story was a long enough (because I can never get enough…lol).
A fast-paced novella. Ruby Berry wanted a high-seas adventure before committing her life to a man she doesn’t love. Callum Cullen understands her needs and schemes to help her. This is a well-written story with wonderful characters that are realistic. I enjoyed the adventure and the love that developed between Ruby and Callum.
Yowza! An adventure you will not soon forget! A handsome Scottish pirate and Laird of his clan, Callum Campbell makes his own rules and lives as he wants, finding riches of every sort and depriving himself of none. Seriously? A braw Scot who is a Laird and Pirate? Oh yes and when he meets Ruby, daughter of a privateer at a dinner party, there is a fiery attraction!
Ruby has been forced by her father to become engaged to William, a very cruel Vice Admiral of the English Navy, who she rebels at marrying. She wants to have an adventure and when she meets Callum, he offers her the perfect way to achieve that by sailing with him on his ship!
As these two spend time together, the attraction grows, but so does everything else! Suspense, deceit, betrayal and a blackguard that tries to bring these two down.
Mia Pride always weaves such wonderful tales and I am lost in a world of her imagination that always brings such wonderful emotions and delight until I turn the last page and just have to sigh…..
I loved, loved, loved this book. It is so full of action, adventure, suspense, intrigue, and so much more. I loved Ruby’s character she wanted so much more from life, than what her parents wanted to give her, so she took what she wanted. Callum proved how much he loved her through his actions.
Enjoyed this short but action-filled story. Filled with surprises. I received an ARC of this book.

Book heated up on Callums ship, his crew added to the story. Find out who gets Ruby, Callum or William.
Be swept away into this swashbuckling action-adventure as the Siren of the Sea calls to her one true love in Jilted and Kilted. Mia Pride has outdone herself with this novel, she has given readers a book that is well-written, filled it with great cast of characters and a strong plot that brings this read together perfectly! Her characters come to life as you find yourself drawn into their story with all the deception, deciet and betrayal with a villain spinning a web of ruination. Callum a brawny pirate\highlander lives the life of freedom and adventure and little does Callum’s relizes his life is about to be turned upside down the night he meets Ruby! Ruby the daughter of a privateer who is a rebellious minx but with a kind heart wants one last adventure before she must marry a Vice-Admiral of the Queen’s Navy, who is boring and controlling. The last thing Callum needs is for Ruby to steal his heart on their adventure filled with sensual awakenings, drama agnst, , trials and tribulations, turmoil and while the suspense builds and tensions escalate with the twist and turns abound that makes this one outstanding story!
3.5 STARS
Of course when you purchase a novella, you know things happen at lightening speed. So it was with their attraction to each other. I liked the character’s but they needed to be flushed out more.
I couldn’t understand her father inviting the guest he did to their home for dinner. He should have known since he was a Scot this wouldn’t sit well with the Vice Admiral. There is some violence, but most of it happens off page.
I did enjoy the ending and everything is tidied up quickly with a nice bow. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, tad on romance and spice. Heat level 4 out of 5 outside of marriage. (ljb)

Noble born and bred, Callum Campbell is the Earl of Argyll by day and a devilish pirate by night. A very entertaining read, which I read in a sitting, it flowed very well & the characters had depth. I really liked Callum & Ruby, it was very much love at first sight but their feelings grew the more they were together. A love a pirate story & was totally engrossed in this one. I’d love for there to be more
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Too many times when it’s a novella sized story, the characters are underdeveloped and you always feel like you’re getting only half a story. Not so with Mia Pride, she manages to completely satisfy your curiosity about the main characters AND you get a story filled with passion and danger. I absolutely loved Callum and Ruby’s story, the way they interact with each other and the passion that sizzles between them.
All Ruby wants is to experience life doing what SHE wants but unfortunately her parents have her betrothed to a man she doesn’t even like and she knows her life will be nothing but boring. Callum is a pirate and a Laird of his clan and when he meets Ruby, he sees himself in her, having the same adventurous spirit. He offers her a way out of having to travel on a ship with her betrothed and instead she can travel on his own ship. They have 3 days but that’s all it takes to change both their lives:) Amidst the danger, their passions flare and life suddenly becomes very adventurous!!
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
