I truly had a hard time putting this book down. I absolutely loved it!
I enjoyed this book, the 1st in the series. Lacey Doyle finds herself starting over and tries to start this new life where she remembers the good days of family vacations. Of course, she has enough money to move to England and start up a little antique shop, but ignore that and enjoy the story. Someone Lacey does business with winds up dead, and since she is the new person in town everyone looks at her. Throw in the love interest from across the street and a lost dog and you do have an enjoyable read. The crime is not overly obvious which makes it a great cozy read.
I’m a sucker for a good mystery. Murder in the Manor is a good one. After being slapped with divorce paperwork by her husband, Lacey takes off to England to revisit a holiday she had taken with her family before her dad had left them. It is everything she remembered and more. Through a series of fortunate events, she finds herself leasing an antique shop, receiving the attentions of the baker across the street, and being accused of murder. There are unfortunately too many leads and not enough evidence for that murder. Is it one of the woman’s children? Her butler? Or the next door neighbor who is trying to drive Lacey away?
The book had heart and the entire story worked together seamlessly that didn’t sacrifice either intrigue or personality. I loved the characters – so many great characters! I can’t wait to read whatever Fiona Grace writes next!
I received a free copy of this book on Amazon and have reviewed it because I wanted to.
This delightful mystery kept me guessing to the very end. I loved the original setting, plot, and characters. With a touch of romance and a wonderful theme (when one door closes, a window opens), this was definitely worth reading!
Good story; best I have read in awhile. Intelligent acting characters.
