Who’s that knocking at my door? Come on in, stay awhile for sure!
Nestled in the hills of the Lake Michigan shoreline, the ranch overlooks open fields and rich oak, maple and beech tree groves. It has been owned by the Katzen family for generations. Once a working ranch producing cattle and milking cows, it has now turned into a therapy ranch for a multitude of special populations. The big, … special populations.
The big, burly, yet misunderstood farmer, Maxwell, moves his farm further along with his plans for spring planting and a bulging livestock business. All the while, a beautiful young veterinarian finds that his farm animals are not the only thing she is interested in coveting.
A road trip to Southern Illinois with a few friends winds up with an extra passenger on the ride back home. A new life begins with a stay at Maxwell’s farm for this mystery person who makes friends and becomes connected to the Little River Ranch community. Who else might show up, knocking at the door?
A Time to Embrace and A Time To Refrain is the ninth book in the Living River Ranch contemporary Christian romance series. All books written in this series follow Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “A Time for Everything” If you like a cleanly written romance series with fully developed characters that move through a series of books, you will love the A Time For Everything Series.

This addition to the A Time For Everything series centers around Annalise and Maxwell. Annalise came to living River Ranch for a job and learns she has a sister in Stormi. Maxwell thinks he may be too old for Annalise, but she doesn’t agree. I just love how everyone helps each other on the Ranch and in Little Bend. I can’t wait to read the next installment to this amazing series. If you’re looking for a sweet, inspirational romance series, I highly recommend these books.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Love this series and the wonderful ranch that accepts all just like Christ does. No one seems to ever give up and they are all a nontraditional family. Annalise and Maxwell’s story seems a bit rushed to me and not as well fleshed out as the others. Wanted more but still a enjoyable read. Received a free copy for a honest review.
I love how the verse in the title was used in the book. In a critical way, actually! We got to find out more about Annalise and Maxwell, which is fun. Maxwell and his mother moved in together and gave up looking for his sister. Until she came and found them, anyway! I love the love stories told in each of these books, and the faith included! I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As usual a wonderful story of amazing people. The characters of this book really appeal to you. I just want to read more and more about that special place.
I enjoyed reading this story as it clearly shows that age is not barrier when there is love. Every difficulty can be surpassed if we try hard enough and believe hard enough in a higher power. This is another lovely story with food for thought written by Everlee.
I received a free copy of this book from the author/Bookfunnel as a member of her ARC team in exchange for an unbiased review.
A wonderful Christian book
As usual a wonderful story of amazing people. The characters of this book really appeal to you. I just want to read more and more about that special place.
This is the ninth book in the Living River Ranch contemporary Christian romance series. All books written in this series follow Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “A Time for Everything” . Annalise and Maxwell are the main characters in this book book but you’ll see many of your favorites from the previous books. This series is a joy to read and it is heartwarming to see how everyone helps each other on the ranch. The age difference between the two did not bother Annalise as she knew he ‘was the one’ the first time she met him. A great series that just gets better with each book. Well written with amazing characters who are likable and lovable. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
Wonderful book. All of Everlee’s books have passion, fear, anger, and most of all love. This is one of the best series I have read. I recommend this book to all who love the cowboy. I received this book as a gift in exchange for and honest review.
