When former Marine and current rancher Cade Donovan inherits his grandfather’s business, he s forced to return home. There s just one catch. The store caused a bitter feud between the Donovans and O Rileys after his grandfather won it in a poker game. Now Cadehas to share his inheritance with the enemy…the all-grown-up and sinfully tempting Piper O Riley. After ditching two fiances at the … the altar, Piper has a reputation for being the town’s runaway bride. The irony is, Piper is woefully inexperienced when it comes to real, true physical attraction. And working with Cade is torture. The kind that can keep a girl up all night imagining naughty, delicious things. Things that Cade is more than happy to show her…
It’s all fun and sexy games…until the truth of why Cade left town comes out.

I give this book 4,5 stars!
I loved “Chasing the runaway bride”! It was funny, sweet, heartwarming and I just rutted for Piper and Cade all the way through.
Cade was supposed to marry Piper’s best friend Lonnie ten years earlier but left her standing at the alter and enlisted in the Marine. Now a former Marine and current rancher Cade returns to his hometown for his brothers wedding and to hear the reading of his grandfathers will.
Piper is known as the “Runaway bride” in town since she left two fiancés at the altar with the explanation of feeling no zing with either of them.
In his will Cade’s grandfather leaves him half the towns grocery store and Piper gets the other half. The reason for this is to bring the town together again since it was split in two after the grandfather won the store in a poker game from Pipers father. One half of the town believes that Cade’s grandfather cheated and the other half believes in his honesty. Now they have to work together to bring the town back to what it was before and how do they do that when they are enemies with a strong attraction to each other?
Cade and Piper are so great together and even though they won’t admit it to themselves their chemistry is of the charts and their encounters are so very steamy when they finally give in to temptation.
I will say that there are triggers for physical abuse on Cade’s family’s side and it can be a bit hard to read but it also explains why Cade is so hard on himself and has become a loner.
I can definitely recommend this book.
I got this book from Entangled Publishing and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was a fun read kind of original in a round about way. The storyline is really good keeps your attention and draws you in. Piper at first seems to be this wallflower who is trying to stay behind the scenes because she has had enough gossip about her. However you almost see her grow with in the pages which was refreshing in away, she lets her stubborn side show in the beginning and that is something that’s through out. Cade, he is just plain cocky I wasn’t sure about him at first but he really does grow on you as you read the story. I loved the small town, the crazy characters and the gossip just sums up about every small town there ever is. I loved how close the brothers are an how they will not stop at anything to protect those they love. This book has sex scenes in it so it may not be suitable for all. Overall I felt this was a fun quick read and well worth it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was adorable. I just love the Donovan brothers and the mother LuAnne. This story involves the middle son Cade. After the passing of their grandfather, (and after Finn and Ellie’s wedding, the couple from the first book in this series) the will is read. The Donovans are now rich. Billionaires to be exact. Now they really have to get their father to sign the divorce papers and not reveal the amount of wealth that they are inheriting. In order to keep this a secret, Cade had to co-own the grocery story with the family nemesis, Piper O’Riley! He has to stay in Harmony Springs for a year or forfeit the store to Piper.
The web of history is rich in this story. Cade is believed to have left his pregnant girl-friend at the alter just minutes before getting married!!! Fortunately the local doctor breaks protocol and shows Cade that he is not the father. Piper is best friends with the jilted bride (Lonnie) and believes the worst of Cade. Not once has he seen “his son, Hunter” or paid child support. How low can one man be! He has lived in Montana for 12 years. Now Cade comes back for Finn’s wedding and meets Piper. Piper is the manager at the pharmacy store where he stops to purchase a card for the wedding. Both are immediately attracted to each. Oh horror of horrors until Piper realizes who she is flirting with. She can’t flirt with Cade as he is the enemy. His grandfather won the grocery from her father in a game of cards. She also can’t flirt with him as she is the talk of the town as the runaway bride. She herself has literally ran away from two grooms!!! SAY WHAT?!?!?!
This story is just hilarious! I so enjoyed reading this second story of the series. I just adored the first one and this was a very close second. There were some moments that where a heart-twister but fortunately for my sinus, no tears. The road to Cade and Piper’s HEA was one that is a must read. I thoroughly enjoyed the complexities that the author put these two through. Their road to a happy ending was so full of bumps that I wondered how everything would come together in the end.
The author wrote this story in a dual POV format. That is a favorite of mine. It helps me to identify with the characters and really humanize them to me. I was so sorry to see the book come to an end. I look forward to reading the third book in this series.
This book has some scenes that should be only read by someone over 18. I otherwise highly recommend this book.
Cute story
This is the second book in the series and I was pretty sure that I read it years ago after I started to read, I had not realized when I requested that it that it was a book written years ago, but nevertheless I continued. This is the second brother who was about to fall in love and would fight it. So Cade and Piper start flirting with each other not realizing that their families are enemies due to Piper’s family thinking that Cade’s grandfather cheating Piper’s father in a game of poker and stole his store. The grandfather dies and requests that both Cade and Piper work the store for a year or if one of the them relinquishes the other gets, if they both relinquish it it becomes a parking lot. They are attracted to each other but there are so many secrets, Piper thinks that Cade walked out on her best friend and abandoned his baby, and let me tell you that her friend is disgusting there are no excuses for what she did it was plain wrong. Cade has to find the evidence that will exonerate his grandfather and he has to fight his demons..Back and forth, I liked Cade but was not really crazy about Piper, all in all we get out HEA.
Rcvd and ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
Very sweet and well written! Loved it
Book 2 of the Donovan Brothers, but it can easily stand alone. It’s a sweet and quick story about the youngest Donovan brother, Cade. He suffered an abusive childhood and then became the town scandal when he failed to show up for his wedding. Many in town have never stopped talking about it. Now he’s back, twelve years later, for his brother’s wedding and the reading of this grandfather’s will.
Piper O’Reilly was taught to hate the Hyatt/Donovan family. After all, their grandfather stole their family business. Oh, he says he won it in a poker game, but that isn’t true. That was the scandal she grew up with, but she certainly added to it when she became known as the Runaway Bride, not once but twice. Imagine her outrage when she discovers that Richard Hyatt, Cade’s grandfather, has left half of the grocery store to her and half to Cade. She is outraged but excited because she figures it’s an admission that he did steal the story from her father. There’s just one catch…they have to run the store together for a year…or it becomes a parking lot.
What could possibly go wrong?
