But I’m not used to … I’m not used to having help, and I want to do it all on my own. Will my stubbornness and independence push him away?

Jacob is the second book in the Alpha Cops series and tells the story of Lexi and Jacob. Late one night Lexi Stewart is working in her workshop at the back of her jewelry store making jewelry when someone throws a brick through the front door and she interrupts them. She is unable to get the alarm off so goes to sit on the curb to wait for the police. Well one massively sexy cop shows up in the form of Officer Jacob Davies. He is one tall drink of water in his tight uniform and take charge attitude…………now where did I put that fan again??? Anyway back to the review again……
Lexi has opened her shop in the not so nice end of town between a betting shop and a pawn shop. But she had a dream to open her own shop bringing together local jewelry makers who can both sell and show their jewelry in one place. She had to pick this location as she could not afford a shop on the main street but things are not quite working out as she had hoped and now with the break-in things financially are a bit tighter.
Officer Davies takes Lexi’s statement and she does remember the burglar being white and having a distinctive scar on his face. Jacob recognizes the description as being a known burglar and fugitive who has been evading the police for a few months since he skipped bail. So the police decide to stakeout the store because they believe he will come back to get what he wanted. Over the next several nights Lexi and Jacob become friendly and spend a bit of time together. Jacob even tries to “stake his claim” on Lexi when a man comes into the shop and he and Lexi are laughing and talking. Turns out it is another jewelry maker who is also married to a man. When Jacob tries to do something for Lexi and her shop without asking first, even though it is something she had mentioned she had wanted to do, her back goes up and her quills get pointed. Jacob in turn walks away leaving Lexi to realize just how wrong she was. But when she tries to apologize it turns out to be a different officer watching over the shop that night. Well maybe not quite so much as Jacob is fiercely protective of Lexi and is still watching over her and will be her hero before the sun comes up again.
I really loved this story and found it to be well written, sweet, romantic and sizzling hot. The story-line is well developed as are the characters, all of which held my attention. Jacob is a protective and possessive older Alpha cop who is determined to keep Lexi safe even if she does not want it. The Epilogue is a lovely little bite that shows just how these two are together.
This very well written, interesting and entertaining short story in the Alpha Cops Series that is sensitive and suspensful guaranteed to tug on your heart. Strong characters; the chemistry between them is explosive. This book is well though out and the drama and ups and downs make it quite the page turner. Definitely recommended.

Another great addition to the Alpha Cops series! Jacob is sweet and sensitive and considerate, as well as being an alpha. Lexi is in need of just a man, given that her jewelry boutique was just broken into – while she was in the back room! From the start, these two are attracted to each other. Jacob is very willing to pursue Lexi, but she’s more reluctant. Lexi is very self-reliant, and is unused to having anyone willing to help her. Thankfully, despite their ups and downs, these two find their happy ever after! This is a smart and sexy story, a great distraction from everyday life!

Lexi’s jewelry store is broken into again. Officer Carver answers the call, helps her clean up, and makes sure she gets home safely. He arranges for a detail to be put on her shop in the evenings. He even tries to help her out by painting the outside of the shop, but she doesn’t deal well with his help. This is a very sweet book. Of course, it’s instalove for Jacob, but it takes a little longer for Lexi to come around. She’s always had to do things herself, and it takes her a bit to learn to accept help for what it is – help, not control.

This novella jumps right in and pulls you in from the start. Great storyline of cop helping out the single lady shop owner. Good chemistry with the alpha cop and sassy shop owner, who doesn’t want help from anyone. I like how Jacob’s protective stupids comes out, only for him to see his mistakes and for Lexi to recognize her vulnerabilities. Nice read with an even better HEA.

Lexi is unsure what to do when her store gets broke into. She’s worked hard to have a store front but not at the cost of her sanity.
When Officer Jacob approaches her and helps her she feels like there is more to them. Can she give him a chance or will she push him away?
