Liam Williamson was a legend in the NHL. Or rather . . . his family was legend. He was the least talented of his family of hockey players—with his father and two older brothers seriously outplaying, outscoring, and out-succeeding Liam’s limited achievements. He’d been traded to four teams in as many years and it was widely accepted that his career was nearly at an end. Now he was with the San … Francisco Gold, barely on the lineup and just waiting for notice that he’d been scratched from every game. His trade to another—and probably final—team was imminent. That was that. He was embracing the fact that his playing days were over— Then he met Mia. She was funny and sweet and the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on. Unsurprisingly, Liam had fallen and fallen fast. But he was about to be traded and Mia lived in San Francisco. Her life was there . . . And how in the hell was he going to leave the woman he loved?

Liam becomes the player he is meant to be!
Hockey player Liam Williamson wasn’t anything like his Hockey Hall of Fame family and he expected the trade to the San Francisco Gold to be the end of career in the NHL after getting traded three times within twenty-four hours. Until he met fifth-degree black belt Mia Caldwell when she saved him from getting run over in the street.
Liam needs to figure out what he wants to do with his hockey career and meeting Mia gave him the confidence to play the style of game he was meant to play. Mia needs someone to be there for her and she finds him in Liam.
Centered is the ninth book in the Gold Hockey Series and worth a binge read of the series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A fabulous addition to the Gold Hockey family! Liam is a little lost, and Mia knocks some much-needed sense into him. He turns things around, getting out of his head by helping her get out of hers. Something in him recognizes something in her, and he’s not about to let her go now that he’s found her. An absolutely absorbing read, and hard to put down. Liam and Mia are new additions to the Gold, and just as compelling as those we’ve come to know and love thus far, and they quickly become part of the family. Definitely recommend, whether you’re already a Gold fan, or just being introduced. Perfect for fans of Helena Hunting’s Pucked series and Natasha Madison’s hockey series’s.
Liam Williamson is the last in the long and distinguished Williamson hockey dynasty, but not nearly as successful on the ice as either of his brothers, his father, or even his grandfather. He’s on a downward spiral, overwhelmed by constantly being traded and shuffled about as well as by his Father’s well-meaning meddling and advice on his game. He’s convinced he’s a failure, and can’t get out of his head enough to recover the love he once had for the game.
Mia Caldwell understands being stuck in her head, because she’s had the same problem for the last decade. Similarly, being stuck in her head is due to her relationship with her Father, and feeling that she failed him in every way just by being herself. A 5th-degree black belt, she lives her life in the spirit of self-punishment, living as he wanted her to and fulfilling his legacy in the martial arts studio he began and continuing the programs both he and her mother created.
The two collide in the most unique of circumstances, with Liam having been so in his head that he nearly got hit by a car, and Mia happening to be in the right place at the right time to save his life. Liam instantly feels a connection to Mia, and makes no bones about the fact that he intends to pursue her; while Mia resists both it and him, continuing on in her tradition of self-denial as her Father taught her to.
But there’s no denying fate, and it soon becomes clear to Mia that Liam was made for her, her perfect complement. But she resists as much as she gives in, and Liam has to work hard to not only find his game again—and with that, himself—but also to convince Mia that what they have, and what they could have in the future is worth not only pursuing, but fighting for. However, between Mia trying to resurrect her Mother’s voice in her head where her Father’s has long overpowered it—trying to remember the parts of her long buried, and Liam’s probability of being traded again if he even still has a career at the end of the season, the couple have a number of obstacles to overcome in pursuit of the future they both want.
