I’m going to get my bitching out of the way right away. The one and only thing I disliked about this book was how it jumped from past to present. As far as I can remember, it really offered nothing to the mystery or the story and only managed to confuse me. It could be for a number of factors though. I listen to audiobooks at 2.55x speed, so it could be the dates just went by too quickly for me to grasp. But aside from mentions of having a kid or being pregnant, there wasn’t really anything to tell you when the story was currently set.
This book filled me with a range of emotions. Half an hour later, I still don’t know what to say about it though. Unfortunately, I have too many review copies to get through to give this book a second listen. But I really don’t think this is the type of mystery you’re supposed to solve. It’s better if you just sit back and enjoy the ride as Arielle does her best to do right by her daughter and pick up the fractured pieces of her life.
I find most of the characters in this book deplorable as people, not as characters. But that’s because I’ve known people like most of the ones in this book, which adds a level of realizm to it for me.
I’m not going to sit here and invent things to say about this book. I really enjoyed it. It’s a well done mystery and the audiobook is very well performed. There’s one skip where the clips weren’t properly lined up and a sentence of dialogue is repeated. The only other issue with the narration is the narrator saying “acrosst” which is something I find exceedingly annoying. Definitely give this one a listen.

Arielle was ready to end it all, but then Caleb came into her life. Then tragedy… the truth might finally be revealed five years later from a very unexpected source.
I absolutely loved the suspense and tension throughout the story. I will certainly be checking out more works by R.M. Demeester.
The narration by Ariel Williams seemed somewhat detached, but it really worked with the story.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
A very interesting, entertaining read. Had a hard time figuring out what Ianthe knew! Great characters. The author did take a lot of prerogative. Not sure why Caleb felt he would never see his girlfriend again and write letters to her and their unborn baby.
I was gifted an Audible version of this book from Story Origin and this is my voluntary review.
The narrator does an excellent job telling the story. She reads a little too slow for my liking but very distinct and easy to follow.
Abused, abandoned, lost and alone, Arielle thought she had found her soulmate in Caleb Young. Caleb was young, irreverent but always, always treated her as if she was special; as if she mattered. How could Arielle NOT fall for him?
The sudden and unexpected loss of Caleb is almost more than Arielle can take. But Arielle knows she must be strong… For her unborn baby, Ianthe…
But Caleb wasn’t who Arielle thought he was; dark secrets and darker deeds hide in the shadows, and those shadows were reaching out… reaching out to the daughter Caleb never knew he had… Ianthe…
An eerie, haunting tale, one that will leave your mind spinning!

The book was a pretty fast read. You follow Arielle’s of love, hurt and motherhood. I enjoyed reading how Arielle and Caleb’s relationship began and evolved. The author was great with explaining all of Arielle emotions, from her loss through to the protection of her daughter. The story jumped back and forth between the past when Caleb and Arielle first met, to the present where Arielle is still trying to come to terms with losing Caleb and keepint his memory alive. Suprise ending. Overall goodread.
I ENJOYED READING WHAT IANTHE KNEW. I FOUND IT TO BE A GREAT SUSPENSFUL THRILLER. THE STORY ALSO WORKED MY EMOTIONS AS WELL. IT HAS A WELL WRITTEN, INTERESTING STORYLINE AND WELL WRITTEN CHARACTERS. I WOULD RECOMMEND READING.

Suspenseful and heart-touching, this is a book about a man who loved his child before she was born. Who killed Caleb and why? Arielle won’t give up until she finds out. I loved the characters in this book, who are realistic in their desire to make a better life for each other and their daughter, Ianthe.

This book was essentially Caleb and Arielle’s love story. The author seamlessly transitions between the year of their short but sincere relationship and where the story picks up five years later with Caleb and Arielle’s young daughter. At the time of Caleb’s death, Arielle does not realize she is with child as she tirelessly tries to put this puzzle together once and for all. Arielle simply does not give up on her quest to find out what happened to the man she loved. How did Caleb die? Why don’t the pieces to this puzzle fit together? What does Ianthe know? You will have to read this book to answer those questions and more.
I absolutely loved this story and the ending is not what I expected! What Ianthe Knew was the first book that I have read by R. M. Demeester, but I can guarantee it won’t be the last.
