Emma Duarte just volunteered to be the ultimate badass. She agreed to try out for an elite eGaming team to draw out the criminal mastermind behind the dangerous, illegal underworld of video gaming. The problem? She doesn’t know jack about the game she has to pose as an expert of. What makes it worse? The guy hired to train her on the game is her brother-in-law (not the one married to her sister, … sister, but his older brother). Oh, did she forget to mention the ill-advised one-night-stand with him after her sister’s wedding?
Michael Harrison loves seeing straitlaced Emma off-kilter. Sure, she rebuffs him every chance she gets, but that just makes it more challenging—and fun. But at the end of the day, the goal is to get her on the Dynasty eGaming team and catch a criminal. Michael already lost his brother to this underworld, and he won’t lose Emma too.

Awesome series
Wow I loved this whole series and this was a fast read with romance and suspense.Emma has taken on the challenge to go into gaming to help draw put the criminal in the underground gaming world.Michael her sister brother in law is chosen to help her with her gaming and strategies . There is a deep sexual connection between the two which they both try and put on hold.Lots of suspense and ending is great.Great series
I’d give this more like 3.5 , but because I enjoyed the rest of the series, we’ll go with 4. The answer to the long, somewhat drawn-out question of “who’s the bad guy” is finally answered in this book. Unfortunately, it was an answer that I figured out early on in this read. There were some decent twists, and I truly enjoyed the push and pull between Emma and Michael, as well as Quan’s continued involvement, but I found that this story didn’t engage me quite as much. Maybe I’m burnt out on the gamer aspect, but that didn’t change the fact that this book did keep me reading to find out how Emma and Michael get to happy, as well as if my guess was right. I’d probably read another book by this author in the future, too.
