Starting over from scratch, with a new career in a new town, was not what I wanted to do right before I turned thirty. When my best friend came to cheer me up, I played along. I promised her I’d take one last night to let loose and have fun before I embraced my future. A sexy as sin bartender, and the hottest one-night-stand to ever exist, was not part of my plan. Neither was the connection we … the connection we had. We had nothing in common other than the same sense of humor and a spark neither could ignore. Yet fate kept shoving us together.
Lucky was the whole package – smart, athletic, and kind, he was the football hero in our little college town. A filthy talking bad boy, who could have any woman he wanted. Despite all our differences, that woman was me.
Sometimes, despite the odds, you roll the dice and go with the flow. Because love is worth it. And this just might be my lucky chance.
“One night stand my ass.”

Lucky was such a good read! I enjoyed Lucky and Sunny, some might think this was forbidden but l didn’t! Lucky and Sunny are so perfect for each other, no matter the 8yr age gap! So many hot steamy moments but a great story line!
It was a typical August Friday night at Hooligan’s. The bartender was watching two women stroll into the bar. They found two empty bar stools directly in front of him. He found out the short brunette was named Sunny. His night had gotten a lot brighter since she had walked through the door. His name was Lucky, and he just knew that name would be fitting that very night. Both thought it was going to be a one-night stand. One crazy night, but fate had other plans for them!
Lucien (Lucky) Chance and Ms. Emerson (Sunny) Bernard had no idea what fate had in mind for them. They would meet again under the most unexpected circumstances. Both of them came with baggage. He wanted to be with her, and hoped she felt the same. If not he wasn’t going to stop until he’d changed her mind. When they were together: “We didn’t say it, but we fought the dawn, refusing to sleep. I could feel her reluctance, weighing as heavy as my own. You can’t stop the inevitable, and the sun always rises.”
This is a wonderful contemporary romance. I kept on reading to find out how this “unlikely” couple would be able to find a HEA. Their attraction to each other is more than “scorching hot.” Everything happened for a reason, and there was no such thing as coincidences. “This.” He motioned between the two of us. “Is the universe pushing us together. I’ve waited for you, Sunshine. Just like you’ve been waiting for me. This is going to happen. You and me? We’re going to be an us. A real us. An us that’s a real couple.”
I absolutely loved this book!!! I’m not sure how I’ve had this book on my kindle for so long without reading it because once I started this story I devoured it. It was a fantastic story from beginning to end. Lucky and Sunny’s story is one of a college student and professor, and a younger man older woman. Their relationship was funny, steamy, sweet, romantic and everything in between and throw in the sports aspect, and you have one hell of a read. I enjoyed all of the characters in this story, the storyline and the flow of the story. It was perfect for me. Now, I’d really love a story with Josh and Loretta. Their relationship seemed as serious, funny, steamy and interesting as this one and I hope the author decides to write a book for their characters. I’m love the younger men, older woman vibes. I can’t wait to see what other books I have on my kindle from this author. I will definitely be recommending this story to family and friends.

LUCKY is a stand-alone sports romance that has LITERALLY been on my bookshelves for over two years – EGADS
This was a quick read, set at a fictitious Maine College and stars a star football player and the “aftermath” of a one night stand.
I enjoyed the flow of the story, the camaraderie among the friends and players and the romance. After the first scene, I did skim through the open door sex. Loved the epilogue.
There are a few backstories that are delved into on the surface and felt like they were important, yet weren’t elaborated on. I think it would have been a 5 star read for me if the storyline was eliminated or explored.
