The #1 New York Times bestselling first-person account of the planning and execution of the Bin Laden raid from a Navy SEAL who confronted the terrorist mastermind and witnessed his final moments. From the streets of Iraq to the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips in the Indian Ocean, and from the mountaintops of Afghanistan to the third floor of Osama Bin Laden’s compound, operator Mark Owen of … compound, operator Mark Owen of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group—known as SEAL Team Six—has been a part of some of the most memorable special operations in history, as well as countless missions that never made headlines.

Thank God that men like these are willing to fight for our country. At a time when few in this nation have experienced military service, this book will provide a first-hand account of what it means to serve. For those of you enjoying the protection they provide, please just say thanks.
Good read.
The author was a Navy Seal and tells of several of his experiences both taking down the bad guys and rescuing Americans. He writes of the extensive training needed to be successful in these operations. The highlight of the book is when his team along with other selected personnel kill Osama bin Laden. The reader will get a real appreciation for the sacrifice these men make to keep our country free.
This a great account of the lives of Navy Seals, much more than just an account of the Bin Laden mission.
I know this writer was highly criticized for “breaking the code of silence,” but how else could the general public get a first hand, accurate, no holds barred account of Bin Laden’s final “capture?” I was amazed at the training and focus these men have, the constant state of absolute readiness. The politics involved made me laugh. Why was I not surprised for the credit that administration took – especially when it is recorded fact that President Bush determined the CIA agent’s sole purpose was to track Bin Laden? The lack of military experience was highlighted a number of times, as in wanting the team to reveal their identities by signing a flag for the president. Really?
I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the telling was credible and realistic. Am so glad proceeds designated for families of the fallen. GREAT READ and I’m a woman!!!
Everyone should read this book!
Fantastic
This book does a good job of telling an entertaining story while telling what happened in Mark Owen’s life. Its a fast paced read that you cant put down. Mark Owen holds nothing back as he tells his action-packed story. Highly recommend this book.
I have read criticisms that the author of this book may have overstated his own role, and/or that he compromised confidentiality or even revealed classified information that could compromise similar operations down the line. Not having been a combat veteran (plus I wasn’t along on this op) I can’t speak to any of that, but I can say that this book is a gripping, heart-pounding page turner throughout, and the one thing we can say with certainty is that we GOT the SOB. For those of us who watched the tragedy unfold in real time on 9-11-01, getting the SOB was a pretty big deal. Revenge is best served cold.
Gives an excellent understanding of the Navy Seals and the operation to get Bin Laden. The writer is concise and captivating in his style.
Great true story of some of our least appreciated American heroes. A must read for our teen generation to give them a frame of referene of true patriotism and unrelenting giving.
Great insight, into the background of a SEAL and some of the events leading to raid on UBL compound.
A compelling story that needs some editing to make it even better.im
A story of an historic happening.
