Third Grave Dead Ahead is the third installment of Darynda Jones’ award-winning paranormal series that’s “hilarious and heartfelt, sexy and surprising.” (J.R. Ward) Paranormal private eye. Grim reaper extraordinaire. Whatever. Charley Davidson is back And she’s drinking copious amounts of caffeine to stay awake because, every time she closes her eyes, she sees him: Reyes Farrow, the part-human, … the part-human, part-supermodel son of Satan. Yes, she did imprison him for all eternity, but come on. How is she supposed to solve a missing persons case, deal with an ego-driven doctor, calm her curmudgeonly dad, and take on a motorcycle gang hell-bent on murder when the devil’s son just won’t give up?

Charly Davidson is my soul sister
Third Grave Dead Ahead is #3 in the Charly Davidson series.
I enjoy reading about Charley, her sexy guy Reyes, her bestie– Cookie, and Rocket. This book is the best yet–though I tend to say that with each book. We know she’s a Grim Reaper and we are slowly discovering what else she is, and what she can do. The audiobooks really add to the fun.
I have read the entire series. I love the characters, humor and storyline.
I’m so glad I discovered this series after it was over, because I don’t think I could wait year after year to read each book — I’m seriously in love with Jones’s humor and these characters.
Like the first two books, book three has some steam, a bit of swearing, and lots of humor. Honestly, though, sometimes I want to smack Charley and Reyes on the head — they’re never completely honest with each other, thereby creating their own drama and issues. I’m invested, though, so I have to see how this thing ends.
One big surprise in this book — tears. Like I said before, I’m invested, and not everyone makes it in this book. I wasn’t expecting to cry, but I consider the tears a good thing. I cared enough about the characters that I didn’t want to see anyone get hurt (much less die).
I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
R-rated for language and sex.
I’ve been speeding through this series nonstop. Seriously. It’s excellent. I want to kill Reyes half the time even when I want to steal him from Charley! He’s hot, he’s sex, he’s a big jerk!
Still, I really am completely into this series. I can’t even tell you why. Some parts of the nonstop snarky humor are annoying to me but I’m just absolutely dying to find out what happens!
A fun third book in this fabulous series. This series is just so good.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.
I read the entire series and love the interaction between Charlie and Reyes.
