more
This romance between Kyle and Steve was short but packed with action. I loved seeing some of the guys from Delta Force and how they helped the JTech team in rescuing Kyle from a mixup. The idea of other authors writing in an already established world is brilliant and I love to see it through these awesome series.
Kyle was a motocross racer traveling the European circuit. He meets up with his look alike cousin and his friends. There he meets Steve a CIA agent. Instant attraction and chemistry. They get together but circumstances out of their control Kyle gets kidnapped by terrorist thinking he’s his cousin. Steve and Delta Force rescue him. They need to learn to navigate on how to be together. It was a good story line. Lots of action, steam and low angst. I’ll definitely be looking for more in this series…

Worth It
“Nothing having is going to be easy. Working hard is what makes it worth it.” Life definitely isn’t easy for Kyle or for Steve in this book but it is full of adventure and excitement but as we learn sometimes a quieter life is better. I enjoyed meeting Steve and Kyle and watching them find their way to happiness and love. I am curious about some of the side characters and hope that we will see them again in the future. A fun read that had me racing to the end.
This is a terrific story. Kyle is a Motocross American racer, currently on the European circuit. Steve is a CIA Agent stationed in Germany. This story has it ALL for me. Military and motorcycles. I’m a sucker for big strong, gruff military guys with a heart of gold. I’m also a big fan of Motocross racing. This is a fast paced intriguing story that is full of heart. For me, Lynn Michaels gives me the thrill of the holeshot, the flight of the jumps and the freedom to ride. Did I mention HOT?? Well it’s that too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!
Motorcross, CIA agents, secret covert military teams, and action-packed rescue operations… there isn’t much to not like in this contemporary M/M romance. Probably the only bit lacking was that the insta-love at the beginning felt a little off. I think this was mostly due to the fact that yes, while the instant connection between Kyle and Steve was evident, I felt I missed the establishment of it. The emotional intimacy level just sort of elevated a fraction too quickly for their level of interaction.
But these two were incredibly hot together, and really very sweet and caring. Steve certainly proved this (and his glorious protectiveness) when he was faced with losing Kyle so early into their relationship. I also really liked the drawn-out uncertainty they had over whether they could be together long-term, and the pining they do trying to figure out a solution to their separate lives is well worth sticking with them to the end!
Rescuing Kyle by Lynn Michaels is a part of the Special Forces: Operation Alpha Universe… which I am new to. But I enjoyed this title as a stand alone and may look up the other titles.
This story is a contemporary m/m romance with a taste of CIA suspense and Motocross sports theme. Theres drama, suspense, action and steam. The characters are interesting and great. Fantastic story.
Rescuing Kyle is the first book in the Special Forces: Operation Alpha series by author Lynn Michaels. I really had a hard time connecting with this story. I really did not feel the heat between these characters. I am a huge fan of Ms. Michaels and was disappointed I could not connect to this book.
Kyle is a motor cross rider. He is in Europe. He is a person who loves life and is not interested in really settling down.
Steve, he reads spy novels. Takes pictures at the motor cross. All around good guy.
The idea of this story is they have instant chemistry and connect. Also, Kyle has a best friend who is like his brother that he looks just like. I just did not feel the chemistry between Steve and Kyle. And for me, that was the deal-breaker to this book. There are some great ideas, and funny moments, but for me, a love story is all about me connecting to the characters. Because I could not in this story it is a miss for me.
I will however be looking for more from this author in the future, normally I am a huge fangirl so for me, this was just a miss.
Kyle rides in the motocross circuit in Germany and meets up with his Army Ranger cousin who introduces him to Steve a coworker. Kyle and Steve have an instant connection and the hook up.
Kyle is kidnapped because of mistaken identity for his cousin and Warren and Steve fight to rescue him. This story has drama, action and some hot steamy moments. Definitely recommend this book!
Who doesn’t love a story about finding love when you least expect it? Throw in hot CIA agents, dirt bikes, a rescue mission, along with some steamy action, and I found myself little intrigued. I liked Steve and Kyle together. Things progress fairly quickly, but life works that way sometimes. Since life has a different time table for everyone, this didn’t bother me at all. The book itself wasn’t rushed. I enjoyed the way the story progressed. Lynn Michaels is a new, to me, author, and I like how she puts pen to paper. I really enjoyed the little things she worked in, such as the motorcycle with the dinosaur glued on it. When Steve played with it I couldn’t help but chuckle. It was endearing. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This story draws you in from the beginning with all the high actions. What is not to love of a super Motor cross hero and then one night meets that mystery man Steve. The twist and turn that comes from a mistake identity. When Kyle is mistaken for his cousin. The characters draw you into the story with their strong and steamy connections. Highly recommend this book today

I would rate this 3 stars.
Kyle is a motorcross racer traveling across Europe when he mets up with his cousin Warren, an Army Ranger, in Germany. Which is how he meets Warren’s colleague, a CIA agent named Steve. Warren and Kyle grew up together, acting more like brothers than cousins due to some family rift not really explained. Being of Chippewa heritage, much is made of the fact they look so much alike that people can’t tell them apart. When mercenaries kidnap Kyle instead of Warren, the race is on to rescue him before it’s too late.
Even though Steve feels his job makes a relationship impossible, he sure dives into one pretty fast. After their first night together, Kyle leaves for his next race but they keep in touch, have phone sex. Even when they meet back up, there are sentences like: “they managed to see each other a few times during the week.” So really the story is telling you without showing you what happens between the sex, which doesn’t encourage the reader to be emotionally connected to the characters, their lives, nor their relationship. I didn’t feel the chemistry even though I’m told it’s there. The sex scenes, though explicit, didn’t feel that hot to me, but I appreciated the sense of fun and laughter at times. Yep, you are allowed to be stupid and have fun during sex. Yet, as soon as he is out of the hospital, of course there is sex, which I’m not sure is necessary. Then later in the story is this quote: “He used it [lube] liberally, trying to get the stretching done fast. Even though that was normally fun foreplay for them, he wanted to get to the best part, the most intimate part.” No. That is not the most intimate part of sex. So as an erotic romance, this didn’t work for me.
It also didn’t work for me as an action adventure. When Kyle is not at the ticket booth at the festival, Steve freaks out and I’m not sure why. He could have gone to use the toilet! Why is the immediate response panic? After the fact that Kyle and Warren look like twins is mentioned to the reader numerous times, the only one who thinks about that when Kyle is taken is Steve, who has to point it out to the rest of the highly trained, elite, special forces team. Spy novels are referenced several times and it seems there wasn’t too much research done into what a CIA agent’s job might be like, even for Steve before he became one. Steve is supposed to be trained at gathering intelligence, but doesn’t know how to search the dark web. That is ridiculous. In fact, because it is mentioned so much in books, I tried it. It’s not the navigating that is difficult; it is paying for things without getting caught that is difficult. Then there is the complete lack of professionalism when Kyle is taken and Warren falls apart and ceases to function.
I have to say, this wasn’t my cup of tea. There wasn’t much depth here, so all the characters fell flat for me. There are about eighteen characters in this story, but the reader only gets to know three of them: Kyle, Steve, and maybe Warren. This is not helped by the fact that one character is half of the time called Chase, and half of the time called Jackson. In fact the author seems to know this since in chapter 17, the reader is told that Oz is Kyle’s manager, again, but I actually found it helpful. Most of the characters are interchangeable military men with nicknames. When Steve and Kyle make changes to their lives in order be together, all new characters get thrown into the last five percent of the book. Or are they from another book and I missed something? Some guy named Jeff lectured to Kyle at the end and it really annoyed me, but it felt like a poke at people who think they know how dangerous these men’s jobs are, but honestly have no idea. I think the point here is that Kyle knows more than most since he “lived it” for two days in an attempt for the author to show that they will have their HEA and can make it for the long haul.
The cover by Kris Jacen shows the motorcoss part of the book, but don’t communicate the terrorist and military action elements.
More sexy men and motorbikes
Kyle and Steve were great characters, well-written and engaging, and I really enjoyed their sexy, suspenseful romance.
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
Well, unsurprisingly for Lynn Michaels, she has managed to produce another gem! There is nothing in this story I didn’t like! The characters were likable from the get go, the story interesting and the progression of the plot kept me totally in it’s hold until the end. Just what you expect from a book!
