Another brilliant addition to B Celeste’s collection!!
I absolutely demolished this book in record timing once I started I just couldn’t stop kinley and Corbin draw you into a story that is so effortlessly addictive that its impossible to put down.
Kinley and corbins story is one of heartbreak and hurt a story of the one that got left behind with a heart shattered into tiny pieces.
Until life throws them back together years later and hate and anger turns to lust and longing and actions neither can control, with consequences neither could have predicted.
“We’re inevitably, little bird.”
Another fantastic read and after that ending part 2 cannot come quick enough!!!!
All books by B. Celeste are amazing and Where the Little Birds Go is not an exception.
Barbara managed to bring this second chance Hollywood romance to a whole new high level. This story is a slow burn romance that will grip your heart so tight from the very beginning.
You can feel the words, the love, the heartache, the intensity, the forbidden right in your soul. All while she put them so beautifully and impeccably together in this first book.
The circumstances, 2 different careers will bring back together a teenage love 10 years later. And while they did the hardest to stay away, life will pull them back to the same path like two missing puzzle pieces in each other’s heart.
The yearning, the characters Kinley and Corbin, feel for each other is so palpable that you will get goosebumps with each turning page.
The angst, bring a rollercoaster of emotions but you won’t be able to stop reading, you can’t get enough of it!!, like one of the lines says “We’re masochists-addicted to pain”, and damn right we are, because this story will break you and put you right back together.
The infidelity, and while it is a touchy and moral subject to many, in this story it is needed. You will ask why? Well, it is simple…….life.
Life will give you challenges where you will have to make hard decisions and sometimes act illogical bringing pain to those around you.
The cliffhanger, unexpected and shocking one, will leave you stupefy and with the anxiety up high wondering if they will make it…..
With all that said, I highly recommend this book and undoubtedly the final book coming few weeks later.
With each new release, this author solidifies herself as one of the greats, and continues to blow me away by the raw talent she encompasses.
When I first started this book, I didn’t realize it was part one in a DUET, and good Lord I just knew I would be in for a ride full of love, heartbreak, tears and every other emotion that comes with loving someone you shouldn’t. What I wasn’t prepared for (even though I should have been) was how I felt like I was *there* with our characters, watching their story unfold.
This book flip flops between the past and present, and in doing so, really cements the connection, passion and love these two characters have for one another.
Kinley and Corbin met at their high school when she was sixteen years old, and what started out as an innocent friendship between two people that had dreams much bigger than their small town, quickly turned into a love that neither of them was expecting. When Corbin makes the wrong choice, it ends with them not seeing each other for the next nine years. Now in the present, Kinley is a successful author and Corbin is the lead for her book-turned-to-movie. When these two reunite, you immediately feel the pain, longing, heartbreak, resentment, bitterness, and love that has long since been pushed to the side.
There are many reasons why Corbin is a forbidden love, and even when I wanted to smack him at times, knowing the fact that he regrets the decision he made as a teenager that has impacted both of their lives made me like him so much more. He was selfish at times, yes, and I wanted him to wake up and see what he was doing to Kinley– what he has been doing to her ever since their teenage years — but when you love someone you love the good and the bad.. And that really sums up their relationship.
Kinley: I loved her so much. Even though Corbin called her his little bird, she encompasses a quiet strength, one that most people don’t possess. She created a beautiful story that reflects her love with Corbin, and even though she struggles to protect her heart against the one person who demolished it, she knows that she’s fighting a losing battle.
There is so much going on in this book, but believe me when I tell you how special these characters are. Even when I disliked Corbin, I still loved him. You felt his internal struggle and anguish just as much as you felt Kinley’s. And though I called the cliffhanger, I am SO glad the second part of this duet is coming out later this month so I can get closure on these beautiful characters!! I need them to be happy, WITH EACH OTHER (don’t you go getting ideas, Barbara.) And am counting down the days until I have it in my hands!!
Barbara is definitely an author to watch our for — I have been bragging about her to all of my reader friends and groups because everyone NEEED to experience the beauty of her words. If you haven’t yet, pick up her books now!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
Read this book! Get ready for an emotional ride!
Where the Little Birds Go by B. Celeste is book one of a duet and tells the story of Kinley who grew up with Corbin prior to him becoming a movie star. They initially meet at age 16 y/o when Corbin is transferred to Kinley’s school and become best friends.
Kinley is the screenwriter for Corbin’s new movie, as she adapted her novel for the screen. She doesn’t want anything to do with Corbin, as he promised to keep in touch when he left their hometown, but never did. When Kinley looks at him, she sees her past. “The best friend, the loving boyfriend and the heartbreaker”
Corbin never forgot Kinsley and thinks of her often, even though he is now married. The movie script appears to mimic Corbin and Kinsley’s current status.
B. Celeste’s stories relationships are often complicated, in a good way, which makes them difficult to put down while reading. I’m not sure about Corbin yet, as he takes what he wants without considering the consequences. Kinley is coming into her own and for once beginning to stand up for herself.
I did guess where the story would take us, but that did not take away from the characters and yes, the story does end in a cliffhanger, but book 2 Where the Little Birds Are will be out in a couple of weeks. I for one cannot wait!
This may not be as intense as her novels from the previous year but this story will tear your soul to shreds. It’s a constant battle of love and hate, right and wrong. You’re emotions are all over the place with the characters. You will keep reading and hoping for the happy ending Kinley and Corbin deserves but B. Celeste doesnt give you a happy ending she gives you a cliff hanger that leaves your heart and soul shattered in the pages of this book!
Corbin and Kinley became best friends and then lovers in high school but Corbin leaves to pursue his dream of acting. He puts himself first, but does he really? Kinley always dreamed of becoming a published author. When their futures collide on set to the movie adaptation to Kinlys books, bottled feels overflow and they just cant stay away from each other.
This story has cheating and does not end in a HEA but is so worth it. This is only the beginning of Corbin and Kinley so be aware this is just the first book in their story. I recieved an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
This is the fourth book from B. Celeste and honestly you would think she was a veteran author with a long and highly successful career(which of course she will have). Her writing and storytelling is amazing. She has the ability to tell a story and create characters that locks you in and takes your emotions on a unique ride.
This is the first book in the duet, the story goes back and forth from the past to present telling how the H and h met and how their relationship began and ultimately ended with heartbreak. The second chance romance burns slow and ends with an exciting twist that will leave you impatiently awaiting the sequel ‘Where The Little Birds Are’.
Be warned because Corbin Callum is all kinds of hot and swoon worthy and leaves you sweating, panting and wanting more. I can’t wait until the second book comes out so I can have one more taste of the Hollywood Heartthrob.
I am new to B. Celeste but I can say she is a wonderful writer. I could not put this book down. Great story and unpredictable. I can not wait to see what happens next.
B. Celeste is one of my go-to angst read author. She has a gift of shattering your heart in a million pieces yet putting it back together again with all the warmth and fuzz. Where the Little Birds Go is another angsty second chance romance from her that gave me all the feels. Kinley and Corbin’s story pulled me in from the very beginning. They were both flawed and their love was complicated. I’ve enjoyed every minute of their consuming story.
I liked that the story travelled back and forth in time to show the connection and chemistry between the couple. Their friendship in their younger years were genuine and pure. They understood and respected each other’s aspiration. I loved that they built each other up with encouragement and support. Their separation was inevitable but I think Gavin played an important role because there was a hint of some miscommunication that was not fully revealed yet.
I ached for the present day couple who reunited after a decade. Their love for each other was still strong; however, their timing and situation were all wrong. The turmoil of seeing the love of your life but knowing you have to let go was the biggest torture. Their affair was morally wrong, but I totally see the intensity and passion of their love and you just could not act logically under these circumstance. I could relate to Kinley – it’s always the love of your life who would weaken you to act irrationally.
The shocking ending had me on pins and needles. I cannot wait to find out how their story continues in the next book, Where the Little Birds Are.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
B. Celeste writes an amazing array of forbidden romances. Each on is unique, gut wrenching, and beautiful. The characters are flawed but relatable. Can you get any better than this? To be able to slay each novel you write is astonishing, and B. Celeste does it every time. She doesn’t write perfect characters but instead, writes normal, raw, and flawed people that everyone can find some sort of kinship with. Her characters aren’t always likeable in the moment, and they do some things that many people may not like, but its REAL. For these reasons, I am always looking forward to the next B. Celeste book and why many readers ADORE them just like me.
Where the Little Birds Go is the first book in the Duet. The second book is coming SOON so don’t worry that you’ll have to wait long. Yes, the cliffhanger is THERE AND GASP WORTHY, but book 2 releases soon. You can find it here on GR if you’re interested >> WHERE THE LITTLE BIRDS ARE
B. Celeste writes a Hollywood romance between an ACTOR and the AUTHOR who wrote the script for the movie. Their romance isn’t something new though as they fell in love when they were teenagers… So, you’ll see the build up from that in flashbacks and what happens years later when they are reunited…
This is a SLOW BURN romance. You’re going to be so aware of the angst that your heart is going to feel as if it’s on fire when reading. You’re going to feel the FORBIDDEN ASPECTS of their relationship and while it may not be RIGHT it makes sense for the two of them. My gosh, my HEART. But you will most likely also SLOWLY fall in love.
Ladies, I recommend this book. It’s a great story, written with precision and heart, and tells a great tale of forbidden love. I cannot wait to get my hands the next book and am anxiously awaiting its release!
B. Celeste
Sooooo…freaking cliffhanger – and a doozy at that! I’m sitting here processing all that is and isn’t between present day Kinley and Corbin. He’s definitely an alphahole through and through. Their past is sweet, their present not so much…Kinley has some walls she erected to protect herself from Corbin. Unfortunately for her, he knocked them down one by one. I’m debating if he has enough redeeming qualities to deserve Kinley. They definitely have some big obstacles in their way to get to an HEA.
Barbara has put out some AMAZING books this year…and I mean amazing. Where the Little Birds Go was right up there with the others…I’m patiently waiting for Where the Little Birds Are and hoping that they finally learn…please let them learn!!!
I devoured this in one sitting.
I was hooked from the first page and captivated throughout.
Then it ended, I’m screaming for more.
Please I need it now!
Kinley and Corbin are incredible character’s.
This story flowed so effortlessly, I loved the back and forth of the past and present.
Amazingly written as usual.
I love B. Celeste, ive read all her books to date and loved every one of them and this exceeded my expectations but cursing her right now for realing me in so deep in to their story and making me wait for the rest of it.
This is another love that will stay with me.
I’m excited and nervous for the next book, I got butterflies just thinking about what is to become of Kinley and Corbin.
B. Celeste really has a way with making her Characters with flaws creep there way into your heart. Just like all of her characters Kinley and Corbin fight for a piece of your heart.
I’m usually not a Hollywood romance fan however B. Celeste has definitely sucked me in with this beautiful yet ugly in ways, soul touching story!
I loved the pace of the story and how she was able to portray Kinley and Corbin’s story in such a way that it resonated with me.
That ending had me biting my nails and keeping me on the end of my toes. Looking forward to seeing how there story continues in the next book.
*arc received for an honest review.
Comment
This book gave me all the feels, you will fall in love with Kinley and Corbin, in the same way you have with all of B. Celeste’s characters.
Kinley was always the quiet one, the one who was always in the shadows, until she had to show the new kid around. Corbin Didn’t want to be in a new school in his Senior year, but here he was.
Corbin and Kinley became fast friends they did everything together, and like most friendships it developed into something more.
Corbin wants nothing more than to make it big as an actor, while Kinley wants to be a famous author, they are totally supportive of each other’s dreams, even when there families aren’t. Corbin promised to come back for her, once he made it as and actor..but life happen and their paths where inevitable to cross again.
Kinley has the opportunity to make her book into a movie, she is so excited for this opportunity, even with Corbin taking a staring role in her film.
Will Kinley heart survive seeing Corbin again after he broke her in every way? Will Corbin survive seeing the one he regrets letting slip away..
5+stars
Recieved this as an ARC And it was amazing. A must read for 2020. Great characters and great writing. It is a duet so it does end on a cliffhanger. B Celeste brings us all another great story.
I just finished this book and I’m feeling so overwhelmed with emotions. I don’t know how I genuinely feel at the moment.
First off this book contains something I’m not okay with. I skipped those scenes because I can’t stomach them. So when you start this book keep two things in mind
1) Keep an open mind
2) The main hero lead is an ACTUAL selfish asshole. Not the kind where he is an asshole first but then redeems himself by being super amazing hot sexy loveable. Well at least not in the first book. We will have to wait for the second book to release to see if he is redeemable.
Okay so this story has two parts, past and the present.
The Past between Cordin and Kinley, how the met and how their friendship bloomed into a relationship is cute. I really liked how they both supported each other and their dreams, already planning on being each other’s dates for the oscars and the RITA awards. Kinley had always been a shy loner kind of gal but Cordin pushed through her boundaries and made a place for himself well……until he ruins everything by not keeping his promise.
So fast forward to the present Cordin is now the main lead for Kinley’s book based movie and they meet again. Kinley tries her best to ignore Cordin but like I said he is a selfish jerk he still goes after her even though he has a very VERY good reason to not pursued his ex. Who he is still in love with. Apparently. I’m sorry I just don’t like him okay?
I REALLY really really DID NOT like him. He has A LOT of redeeming to do in the next book. You think he learned from his past mistake with Kinley? And start thinking about others than himself? No! He still is a selfish jerk. At least he admits it. So. Yeah. GOD! Trying to keep this review spoiler free without ranting all his flaws is difficult. Because I want you to know why I hate him so much but I guess now you have to just read it for yourself. And then be free to drop by this review and rant with me.
Kinley, my heart aches for her. I just want her to say “fuck you Cordin” and move on. But we all know that’s not going to happen. She deserves so much more like GIRL why are you torturing yourself! Forget about his sorry ass. I just want to knock some sense into her. Like Little bird become a falcon or an eagle and eat men like Cordin.
God I wish that could happen. Barbara? Next book please?
I don’t know how I feel about Kinley but Cordin is a NO from me. You boy better beg on your knees in the next book.
The reason I actually finished this book is because of how well it’s written. I never wanted to hug and bang someone’s head on the wall as much as I wanted to while reading this book. I was completely engrossed into the characters and keeping my personal judgements aside and just feeling what the characters were going through (at one specific point, I just could not because Cordin is an ass and Kinley is too naive).
And omg the cliffhanger. Why do authors love torturing me. Like now I need the second book but I’m scared also. Because I’m hoping Kinley at least tries to be an eagle/falcon instead of a little naive bird. And I also need Cordin to make things right with me before going after Kinley. Because my girl is hopelessly in love and she isn’t thinking straight.
This book is going to make you feel happiness only during the past scenes and angry like really really angry and depressed during the present scenes. So get ready.
Also this is my first ARC book. So thank you so much BARBARA!!
