Loved this story!
Wrapped Up in You is a sweet and sexy holiday story about two sweet guys, Matteo and Kerr, who hook up while meeting at a club in Boston. The only problem is—not only do they come from the same quirky, charming little town, but their families still have an on-going, generations-long feud with one another.
Matteo DeLuca’s family owns the local pizzeria. His father, Giuseppe, is a rough and stubborn old-school Italian, which means: a) don’t twist his horns, and b) he holds a grudge for like … forever.
Kerr Landon owns the bakery across the street from them. He’d taken it over after his parents had passed away. He obviously knows about the feud from stories handed down, but because he’s basically scared as hell of Giuseppe, he minds his own business and stays clear of him.
As a matter of fact, both Matteo and Kerr really don’t know what could have possibly happened to create so much animosity between the two families.
This story resembles something along the lines of Romeo and Juliet meets the Hatfields and McCoys when the two realize they want to continue whatever it is they started in Boston.
Matteo and Kerr are absolutely adorable. The more they try to hide their canoodling from the townsfolk and family members, the more they find themselves in all sorts of odd predicaments. Some of them are hysterical!
I don’t want to give away any more of the storyline because it’s just such an enjoyable read. The side characters are fabulous, especially Kerr’s friend, Felix, and Kerr’s sister, Kennedie. Claire Castle’s imagination and attention to detail made the words jump off the pages, each chapter flowing effortlessly into the next.
The epilogue left me with a big smile on my face just knowing that Matteo and Kerr had gotten their HEA!! Five pepperoni and gingerbread stars for me!!!!!!!!
Wrapped up in you was a Phenomenal Book. The storyline was just so Romantic and Outstanding. The relationship between Matteo and Kerr was so sweet, loving and wonderful. I loved everything about this book. Matteo’s father plays a big part in the relationship and makes it interesting. You will get so wrapped up in the story you will want more.
I’ve read this author before. This was a mm contemporary story set in the USA around Christmas time. Main characters are are Kerr a small town bakery owner and Matteo who’s family own the local pizzeria. A century’s old family feud keeps the two apart, but true love wins in the end. A great light read. I’ll read more from this author.
It’s a modern day Romeo and Juliet (if Juliet was a man) complete with a family feud that’s into the 4th generation, and an Italian patriarch who’s very Old World and bent on continuing his grandfathers feud. All in a charming, small town USA setting, during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Overall it’s a good, heart warming story of two young men finding love, despite the lengths they have to go to keep their meetings secret. This gives birth to many humorous moments in the book. There is also, however, quite a bit of angst, due to Matteo’s struggle with his fathers Old World views.
The thing I didn’t like about the book was how it ended. No, it’s not the tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet, but it’s not exactly a HEA. It’s more of a “Now they can date openly, while trying to maintain a long distance relationship.” ending, instead of them finding a way to stay together. This may, in part, have been due to the authors need to keep to a set word count, but I’m only guessing there. It just seemed like there were a lot of loose ends left. And it’s for this reason that I have only awarded it 3 stars.
I really liked this story! Despite the shorter form, the story was very entertaining and the characters were really amusing. Loved the family feud and secret lovers twist to it all and Kerr’s antics.
