Myths. Magic. And a prophecy realized.Lisa Winters is supposed to save the small town of Opal from destruction with magic she does not possess. The white tiger has awoken, and he wants revenge on the people who betrayed him, as well as the sorceress who bound him in frost. Lisa was not that witch. And yet, everyone believes she is the fated one. The one who will finally end the white tiger’s … white tiger’s reign of terror.
Even her mentor, Herk, thinks so.
Lisa doesn’t want to let anyone down, but she can barely start a fire with a match and lighter fluid, let alone do anything magical.
That is, until the moment she meets the white tiger.
His majestic beauty stirs deep within her soul. Her magic, dormant for so long, sparks to life like a shooting star streaking across the universe.
But as the burst fades, so does her strength, leaving her vulnerable to the tiger’s wrath.

Winter’s Heart by J.E. Taylor when I opened this book up to read I was not sure what to expect. As I started reading, it got to the point I could not put this story down till I finished the whole book and it was amazing. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about witches.

WINTER’S HEART is a standalone novella about a prophecy, a girl, and a tiger. Who doesn’t love a story like that?
Whilst there are romantic elements to this story, it isn’t the only part. Lisa has been foretold for years as the saviour of the village, even though she has no magic to show for it. When killings start happening, it appears the white tiger is back and Lisa must kill it. Of course, it’s not that simple.
I read this book in one sitting and enjoyed most of it. There didn’t seem to be any punishment (or explanation) for Herk’s behaviour towards Lisa and it was just glossed over after she had a ‘word’ with him.
The rest of it was better. I loved the descriptions of the village and the forests, especially that of the tiger. I would love to see a follow on from this story, seeing how Lisa and Elijah get on and how their budding romance develops.
A quick coffee break book that I definitely recommend.

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
What a great story. I really enjoyed it. There was drama, suspense, blossoming love and action. The twist that was thrown in there was pretty good too. I definitely didn’t see that one coming. I would love to see this story turn into a series or even see a short story be made so we could be introduced more to Lisa and Elijah’s love story. Overall great book. Definitely a must read.
J.E. Taylor wrote a short but satisfying fantasy. Lisa Winters has been told from a young age that she is the answer to the prophecy- the hope for their village against the great white tiger. Now that she is coming of age everything is starting to change and the answers she once thought were so sure are no longer right in front of her. When she meets the great white tiger, will she kill him or find there is more than the story told?
This story had some great characters and beautiful world building. I was rooting for Lisa as she found her own drive and discovered her independence despite everything going against her. The town believes in her based on a few sparks as a child but she doesn’t believe in herself until she takes the chance to go out on her own and discover the secrets of her past. Herk who could otherwise be called Herk the jerk has his moments of redemption despite his actions at the beginning. The setting of the story is a beautiful vision with crisp mountains and pristine snow. When looking for a short magical story with adventure, transformation, and vampires this one will do the trick.
This is a great short story. It had a little bit of everything in thebstory, emotional wise. How can anyone not like a snow (white) tiger?? I absolutely love those tigers and this story is great with a tiger shifter and it has these beautiful blue eyes. I have a big thing for blue eyes. This story has a beautiful budding romance and wish it would not end. I want to know more about the tiger (Elijah) and Lisa. If you like handsome tiger shifters and magic along with a little romance, then this story is a.must read.

Entertaining, quick story with cool magical elements and a tiger shifter. Lisa has been trying to find this magic that she’s supposed to have so she can defeat the murderous white tiger. She doesn’t believe she’s the Fated One, but the whole town does and continues to pressure her to rid the town of evil. Lisa ends up finding out things aren’t exactly as she thought when she comes into contact with the white tiger; she’s going to need to open her mind to different possibilities. I found the whole story interesting and the writing was good. I didn’t like that there were things that were very obviously wrong, but Lisa didn’t have an inkling; it’s been years and she thinks nothing is off. Also, there’s an incident with sexual assault that is just glossed over; it wasn’t some accidental thing, but the offender isn’t punished at all. Very disappointing. With those couple of negative things and me wanting more to the ending, I went with a 4 rating because the overall story was awesome. Lots of fun elements that kept me turning the pages.
Forced by an ancient prophecy and with the people pointing it out, Lisa was going to fulfill what was considered her destiny. The evil had been weaving a web of lies but the magic was there, and Lisa had found hers and her purpose. But could she control herself? Action, deceit, magic, mystery, suspense, Paranormal characters, dangerous scenes, violence and a little romance. Kept me interested until the end with an intriguing twist.
