I’m a Peggy Jaeger fan and this may be her best book yet. Today, Tomorrow & Always is a heart melting story of a couple, Cathy & Mac, both with complicated pasts, who meet in Cathy’s hometown of Heaven, NH. Can I first say that I want to live inside this book? I want to stay at the Inn Heaven, maybe have my wedding vows renewed there and eat some of Maureen O’Dowd’s fabulous food? But I digress. I digress because the story isn’t a story, it’s real as the warm blanket in front of the fire on a cold night. It’s Cathy, a town lawyer & Mac , who has a well founded hatred of the legal community, finding their way through hilarious and heart wrenching struggles. The characters are people and as genuine as any you’ve ever read. And oh my, the delicious banter! Nanny Fee is her own inimitable self and George the dog—well I won’t give anything away! Snuggle up and read this glorious romance with a capital R. You won’t regret it.
Okay, here’s the deal. I’ve been waiting for this book since I read book one in this series, and loved it to the moon and back. Let me start by saying you can’t compare the two books. They are totally different and each can be read as a standalone.
With that being said, I also want to point out that the synopsis for this book does not do it justice. It’s interesting to me how sometimes I can read a synopsis and after reading the book realize that there wasn’t anything more because it laid out the entire plot with no surprises. Talk about disappointing! But with Today, Tomorrow, Always, its blurb caught my attention but while reading quickly figured out that there was so much more to the story. Holy moly, that synopsis did not prepare me for the emotional roller coaster the story took me on.
When reading a series, I find it hard not to compare between the books. This series isn’t any different. The first book made me laugh and the second one made me cry. We’re talking ugly cry. “I don’t even want to talk about it” kind of cry. I’m all for a heartwarming romance stories but this one crossed into the Disney break-your-heart arena. Some people love that kind of gut wrenching, tear your heart out, happily ever after drama. Traditionally I avoid that deep thought-provoking emotional turmoil. I stopped reading Nora Robert’s books and I’ve never read a Nicholas Sparks book, nor do I intend to. However, Peggy Jaeger’s writing style eloquently and solidly carried me through to reach my well-deserved happily ever after ending.
I anticipate there will be a third book in the series about the remaining single sister, Maureen. Based on what I already know, I’m suspecting who her match is going to be and I’m intrigued how that’s going to play out. It’s especially worth considering because of what was revealed about what he may or may not know since he was the best friend. Without spoiling anything, I’m assuming he didn’t know and can’t wait to find out in the third book if I’m correct.
The heroine in this book was Cathleen O’Dowd. It was fun to read the story from her perspective after reading the first book from her sister, Colleen’s perspective. I love the entire O’Dowd’s family, especially their grandmother, Nanny Fee. Nanny is still a spitfire at her ripe old age of ninety-three. I’d consider Nanny to be the glue in the “A Match Made in Heaven” series. I felt her presence more in the first book and I look forward to hearing from her in book three. However, if she dies in book three then I’ll never read another Peggy Jaeger book again. I read to escape and feel happy not depressed.
The hero, Mac Frayne was not a typical hero which was refreshing. I felt he was more reserved in an Autistic Spectrum kind of way. Something about him was more introverted. It went beyond being hurt, angry and sullen. Yet, I found he was relatable and I felt he was a perfect match for Cathleen. They definitely had chemistry as they worked through their separate issues.
This novel was an entertaining read. I enjoyed the interaction between the cast of characters that live in the small town of Heaven, New Hampshire. There is that small town feeling where everyone knows everyone. It gives the reader a sense of familiarity which makes it easy to feel connected and part of the story.
Summed up, this is a quality written book that took me on a journey and created a blender of emotions with in me. I highly encourage this book to go on everyone “to read” list.
This is a heartbreaking story about two very lonely souls. So prepare the tissues because I needed them. Like always Peggy Jeager writes great stories with great likable characters and is all wrapped in an enjoyable book.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
This book is the second installment in A Match Made in Heaven and features Cathleen, a widowed attorney living in Heaven (New Hampshire) who must maintain a spotless professional reputation, and Mac, an author with a horrific tragedy in his past who comes to Heaven to write a book on its founder. These two lost souls when it comes to love are immediately attracted to each other and go from friendship to an affair with an end date. I highly recommend this heartwarming book with believable and well developed characters and a plot which includes strong emotions, drama, a touch of humor, passion, and steamy romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this sweet, heartwarming story about two lost souls who find each other. Mac and Cathy experienced heartbreak when they unexpectedly lost their spouses. They are just existing and have very little joy in their lives. When Mac and Cathy unexpectedly find each other, they are surprised by the spark between them, because neither one of them have dated and never expected to find love and happiness. They are both unassuming, down to earth and honest and they fill each other needs. They have baggage from the past and are having a difficult time moving forward.
Cathy is an attorney who has lived her entire life in her small town of Heaven. Mac, a writer is in town to write a book about the town’s founder. In some areas of their lives Mac and Cathy are confident, but when it comes to intimate relationships, they are lost. They have both given up on love or finding someone. Mac is charmingly unaware of his attractiveness and Cathy has dedicated her life to helping others. They both deserve to find happiness.
Peggy Jaeger writes a beautifully descriptive, well written story with unforgettable and realistic characters. This is the second book in the series A Match Made in Heaven and I can’t wait to read more.
A small town wedding romance? Perfect for holiday reading.
Today, Tomorrow, Always is the second book in the A Match Made in Heaven series by Peggy Jaeger. As always this author delivers a well written, interesting book filled with characters who love with all their hearts. The women are strong, like Cathy, who has pain in her past yet still manages to be the one her family looks to and counts on. I can’t wait to see what happens with the third sister. This is definitely a feel good book that will have you turning the page as fast as you can!
Today, Tomorrow, Always, is an emotional romance with two extremely wondrous main characters. This story takes place in Heaven, New Hampshire, where the winter is frightfully cold and the O’Dowd women are remarkably valiant. This is the second book from the A Match Made in Heaven series, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone. However, book one, Dearly Beloved, is really good as well.
Cathleen O’Dowd truly loves being a lawyer in the small town she grew up in. She is surrounded by her thoughtful sisters and her spry, 93-year-old grandmother. Cathy’s love life is non-existent, thanks to a tragic romantic past and a very busy schedule. When author Mac Frayne comes into her life, she is able to find love once again.
Mac has come to Heaven to write a biography about its founder, Josiah Heaven. Cathy is overjoyed to meet him, since he authored one of her favorite books. Mac’s research requires access to the historical society’s archives, and it so happens that Cathy is temporarily in charge of the precious documents. Due to a horrific tragedy, Mac has been alone for a while. So spending time with Cathy brings about a new friendship, which evolves into a raging passion.
I truly liked this meaningful romance. Cathy and Mac are a hot couple, and their sexy times are steamy. The author, Peggy Jaeger, has created a unique balance of plot, passion, and personality. Overall, this is a romantic read with exciting and interesting characters. Although the ending was terrific, the omitted epilogue was a disappointment.

Cathleen is a lawyer, a young widow. Mac hates lawyers. They meet in her hometown; he’s there to write a book, and plans to leave as soon as possible. He’s methodical in his research, and she argues like a… well, like a lawyer. This is a nice story, with very believable and likable characters. They are so perfect for each other, even while they’re trying to not become involved.

The second book in A Match Made in Heaven series a well written story. Lawyer Cathleen O’Dowd and writer Mac Frayne’s story that I enjoyed reading . I hope there is more to come in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cathy and Mac were an older couple, she almost 40 and he in his 40s and they weren’t looking for a serious relationship when they acted on their attraction to each other. They both had cheating lying spouses who were killed. He is bitter about lawyers after the teen who killed his wife and daughter texting while driving got off free and she is lawyer. I felt for her when her elderly dog died because I’m dealing with the end of life with mine right now too and trying to decide what’s best. This was a sexy romance with several sad and funny moments. Cathy’s matchmaking grandmother is a riot and I can’t wait to see what she does with her last single granddaughter Maureen.
A wonderful story that pulls the reader in and keeps them turning every page til the end. A story so descriptive of the locations and the characters, you’ll want to go there in person. The characters you’ll fall in love with, the story line you won’t it to end and you’ll be left with all the feel good feels of a great romance.
