Fifteen years ago, Prince Graham of Ardglass barely escaped from the ancestral castle with his young life. Rescued by a magical creature and spirited off to a faraway valley, he grew into a strong, capable man—never shirking his duties on the farm, but forever bitter over his father’s betrayal. But just when he has finally come to terms with being lost and staying lost, a visitor arrives in his … his valley and changes everything.
After a lifetime spent lost in his beloved books, Prince Emory awakens to find his villainous aunt working to usurp the throne of Fontaine. When she sends him on a dangerous quest, he’s certain the journey is a trap, but he’s not willing to accept defeat without a fight.
But a fight is something Rory is unprepared and untrained for, until he’s saved by a handsome, unassuming farmhand and his snooty, smug, and surprisingly talkative unicorn.
Yours, Forever After now includes a bonus novella, completing Gray and Rory’s magical quest for true love.

Yours, Forever After is a character-driven fantasy story with a lot of heart. Graham was forced to leave his home to escape the whims of a bloodthirsty sorceress. Rory found himself nearly victim to the same sorceress, but inexplicably rescued by the taciturn Graham. Add one pushy unicorn and some tough warrior women, and the result is an entertaining love story between a world-weary prince and his sheltered counterpart. I listened to the audiobook, and while it took awhile to get into, I found myself drawn in by the characters and their romance arc. If you like your fantasy with lots of character development and a bit lighter on the action, this is a great choice.
Disclaimer: I received an audiobook copy for free and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.
I sometimes have a hard time to get a paranormal book because whey often have hard names and alot of story around the story.
But this book I actually loved! It was a great story with love between 2 princes.
A beautiful, epic tale of love and magic!
Two princes, each lost in their own way, find their way to their future and love.
I loved how Rory, though naïve at times, finds the strength t fight for his rightful place on the throne. And the way Gray, finds his way back into the real world and away from the valley where he had hidden himself for years.
Together they fight evil magical creatures and even more evil relatives.
Fantasy is not a genre I typically read but I loved this fantastical fantasy adventure by Beth Bolden. Grey and Rory were such different people even though they had much the same upbringing for the first ten years of their lives. I loved hearing about the life that Grey had built for himself but it was sad to hear just how lonely he had been until Rory shows up. Rory was such a sweet soul who seemingly would not be able to survive their quest but truly was so strong. I had a love/hate relationship with Everard! I get why he was evasive with his help but sometimes I just wanted to yell at him to be more specific. The storyline was wonderful and I loved the intricate world created by Beth Bolden! Beth is one of my favorite authors and it was so fun to read her work in a totally different genre from the rest of her books. I loved this book and cannot wait for the sequel to be published! Highly recommended!
Yours, Forever After is a delightful fairytale romance complete with a talking unicorn, a lost prince, and a prince betrayed by his own blood relative. Yours, Forever After used a lot of common fairytale tropes: secret identity, bad parenting, lost parents, magical creatures, and of course, true love—which Beth Bolden weaves into a unique and sweet romance. There is a lot of action and suspense, as well as humor and some steamy intimate moments. The epilogue novella that was added to the book was fantastic. It felt like an extension of the story and I really enjoyed the wedding and all its drama.
The audiobook was narrated by Brennan Rossi, a new-to-me narrator who did a decent job with the book. There’s room for some audio production improvement, but the book was still really enjoyable to listen to and I liked how Brennan voiced the characters. I had no trouble following along with the story and could easily tell the characters apart based on Brennon’s performance. I will definitely listen to more audiobooks narrated by Brennan, and I’m looking forward to more stories from Beth Bolden.
I cannot explain with words how wonderful this book is. I always loved fairytales about hidden princes and princesses and how they find their HEA with the help or in spite of magical creatures intervening in the story. Loving M/M romances usually means a few books about this topic so, discovering Beth Bolden’s book was a treat. The plot is interesting keeping you in edge all the time, Emory and Graham (or if you prefer, Rory and Gray) are a sweet couple, with a strong love for each other, and at the end, together, they found the way to overcome the evil threatening their future and getting a deserved HEA. Of course all with the help of a snarky unicorn as every decent fairytale needs to have. Really wonderful!!!
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
This was a lovely fantasy romance about Gray, a hidden or “lost” prince, who found a future he never planned on with Rory, a prince from another kingdom. There were moments I wanted to shake Gray, though I understood his cynicism and knew the reasons he fought against letting his guard down with the other prince, who he originally saw as sheltered and weak. Watching both men grow and become more confident in themselves and each other, as they prepared to fight the evil woman who had wronged them both, was wonderful. The addition of Evrard, the sometimes helpful, always conceited unicorn, just made this book more fun and magical. I loved this and hope to read more stories like it from this author, who is already a favorite. Well done!
This was such a fun read. With a couple of scenes toned down I would say this would be a perfect YA fantasy. It’s cute and funny with a sarcastic, pompous unicorn, a studious prince and a lost boy/man unaware that he’s looking to be found. The villain is suitably villainous in a boo hiss pantomime/Disney witch way. It’s a grand adventure with magical items, a treacherous journey to solve an ancient riddle, and a lovely slow burn relationship.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.

True magic and a wonderful feel-good, adventurous fairytale!!
I enjoy the world Beth created and the mystery throughout was great. I loved the world where bi was a given and attraction had no shame. I loved Gray and Rory! Opposites in so many ways but matched so well.
I love the approach to the villain and how she was connected to both Gray and Rory. Her villainous knew no bounds but I did feel her demise was a little anticlimactic for such a pivotal role in the story. I’m very glad we didn’t have to experience any near loss like with many fairy tales.
I must say, while I love the “old English/fairytale style” of writing, I did find the whole story (but mainly the first few chapters) rather difficult to read with my dyslexia. With the “old-your” style, the sentence flow was more difficult to follow but I am so glad I persevered as I fell in love with Gray along the way.
A great adventure, with slow-burn, angst, romance, humor, and good old fairytale hope and magic! I’m so glad we’ll get more of Gray, Rory, and Evrard soon!!!

I absolutely adored this book. The characters come alive off the page, the world building is creative, and the writing style is smooth and flows nicely.
* VERY slight spoilers ahead *
Prince Graham of Ardglass was forced to flee his home when he was a young boy. His father had become a puppet of an evil sorceress, and betrayed his only son and heir to her whims. With the help of his beloved tutor, Rhys, and then the imperious Evrard, king of the unicorns, Graham is lead to safety in the Valley of the Lost Things. There he becomes Gray, a farmer, and a taciturn but strong and honorable man.
Prince Emory, or Rory, of Fontain, has lived a very sheltered life. He has spent his entire life reading and learning history and languages, much to his aunt’s devising. When his parents were killed while he was a young boy, his aunt came to be regent, and he trusted her to do right by him and his kingdom. However, she has been maneuvering him and his people so that she can gain full control as queen of Fontain.
When Rory’s aunt suddenly decides to send him on a fairly dangerous mission, Rory begins to put the pieces together. He insists on bringing his own personal guard, all female soldiers, which I greatly appreciated. Their goal is a valley, not on any map, to find a group of bandits. What they find is a peaceful farm, and a man Rory cannot resist, both due to his physique and his intriguing ways.
When assassins come, Rory fears betrayal, but rescue comes from the last place he expects. This begins a hard won journey of discovery and the development of trust and a true partnership between the two men. Evrard manipulates circumstances to fit his needs, but also to ready the new lovers for the battles ahead.
Gray must be found and return to Ardglass with Rory by his side. He must face the demons awaiting him there in order to help Rory regain his throne, and rid the world of their mutual enemy. Although he is deeply wounded, and not prepared for his homecoming, he chooses to face his fears for the man he loves.
When the plan takes form, the force marches on Beauliue, the capital of Fontain. Although they are met with resistance from Rory’s aunt, they know what has to be done. When a surprise reaction from the ancestral sword of the royal house of Fontain, wielded by Gray takes place, not only is the course of the battle changed, but also the acceptance of Prince Graham into the royal family. There are several plot twists, hard choices, and sorrows along the way, but Rory’s determination and optimistic outlook always find a way to break down Gray’s brooding and defensive walls. All of this, of course, leads to a happy ending. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did. I thought it was a fun and unique fantasy royal romance.
Happy reading!
* I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *
Yours,Forever After is the epic, magical adventure of Rory and Gray.
Well, maybe their first encounter isn’t all that magical. Gray is not that happy about the the colorful peacock of a prince that dares to disrupt the peace of his valley. And Rory is definitely not charmed by the filthy, grouchy farmer, despite how big, manly and attractive he is.
They soon have to get over the not so stellar first impressions and find a way to work together, because they have a dangerous common enemy to take down.
Their endeavor is full of past and present trials, with the unlikely help of an uppity, huffy unicorn. To me it was absolutely a wondrous, sweet experience to read through, as Rory and Gray become each page more trusting in their own capabilities and in each other’s. To witness as very moment spent together they are more in love, more convinced of what their future should entail and ready to do anything in order to achieve it.
Beth Bolden has written an amazing fairytale and I can’t recommend Yours,Forever After enough.
A cute take on a fairytale with a quirky unicorn, likable characters and a plot that pulls the reader in from the get go.
I like how the book is totally different from the other titles, yet the author still managed to retain the best characteristics of her writing.
I admire authors who push themselves out of their comfort zone to try something new and do it extraordinarily well. Such is the case with Beth Bolden, an author whose work I’ve read and enjoyed in the past. When I heard that her next release would be a gay fairy tale, I was both curious and anxious to see what story she was going to share with fans and readers. I’ve read a number of gay fairy tales over the past couple or so years, and Bolden’s Yours, Forever After is one of, if not THE best, that I have ever had the absolute pleasure to fully immerse myself. From the world-building to the characters to the development of the story and writing, this novel took me on an unforgettable adventure alongside the Lost Prince, the Autumn Prince, and a haughty unicorn slash matchmaker.
Yours, Forever After is the story of two princes who are lost and find, not just each other, but purpose and enlightenment after their paths cross and they are forced in one another’s company. When twenty-year-old Prince Emory of Fontaine is sent on a quest to a valley by his aunt, it becomes clear that it’s a journey that he’s not meant to come back from. When he reaches his destination, it isn’t rebels he finds there; instead, it’s a farmhand named Gray who isn’t all that welcoming. But soon enough, Rory is about to learn that not all is what it seems, especially since the twenty-six-year-old man before him is actually the lost Prince of Ardglass, Prince Graham and that they share a common enemy. While Gray simply wants to be left alone in his valley, the opportunity to exact vengeance is too great a pull, but maybe not as great as the tugging of his heart towards Rory, who sparks both hope and love.
One is never too old to appreciate fairy tales, and that’s certainly true when it comes to me, although I should add a caveat insisting they be wonderfully weaved tales that inspire and entertain. Beth Bolden outdid herself with this book, creating a wholly original story that took hold of my imagination. There was wit and humor as well as heart-tugging moments. Oh, and of course there was romance and heat! Nothing was lacking nor excessive, and I was swept away to a land far, far away by a story with themes close to my heart and a cast of characters that fought their way to a happily-ever-after. Five-plus stars for Yours, Forever After, which is also one of my top reads for 2019.
I absolutely loved this book! Two princes meet and fall in love. Their journey together has many ups and downs, plus an evil villain not to love? Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop! Highly recommend.
This was quite an enjoyable story with a young, sheltered princeling who is braver than he thought and a jaded farmer/warrior who has been lost half his life.
This modern fairy tale has all the elements of the well-known ones: an almost impossible mission that leads them on dangerous endeavors with near-death situations, a villainess who will do everything in her magical powers to stop them, and unexpected traits that play a pivotal role in their quest to retrieve what has been rightfully theirs.
It doesn’t have a sweet and gentle fairy godmother. Instead it features an arrogant, opinionated, snobbish unicorn, Evrard, who knows more than he’s willing to tell. And yes, he can speak but only when he’s inclined to do so.
But he has a soft heart, although he would be the last to admit that, and he has mad matchmaking skills that become apparent in the slow-burn romance that grows between Rory and Gray.
Young prince Graham is forced to flee his home in order to save his life. A magical talking unicorn named Evrard steps in to save him. Evrard ensures that Graham is aware that unicorns are truly majestic. After years of living with Evrard, Graham now known as Gray, is fustrated with the unicorn’s cryptic answers. His life as a farmer is interrupted with the visit of Prince Rory. Both must join forces to conquer the evil that is living in Rory’s home. The same evil that forced Gray out if his home as a young boy. Their adventure is full of danger, love and a unicorn who keeps sneaking up on them when trying to have their sexy time. A must read fairy tale
Yours, Forever After is a Gay Fairytale Romance by Beth Bolden. This is a sweet romance between a naive young Prince and a bitter and betrayed man who had to run from his royal birthright in order to survive. Don’t forget the sarcastic unicorn though, you would miss a lot of fun. This tale offers the reader a wonderful adventure of villains and heroes, betrayals and manipulation, and a sweet and slow burn romance… definitely caught and kept my attention and interest. I hope to get more books similar to this or even related to this world created here and the amazing characters we met.
