After a devastating accident crushed my dreams, I ended up back in my hometown teaching kindergarten. I was trying to make the best of it. That is, until the world I had to leave behind, showed up in my classroom in the form of a five-year-old little girl. Her father living the exact life I almost had.Adam Jacobson is known as the bad boy of rock. While he and his band tour the world, they leave … they leave a trail of mayhem. What no one knows is behind the music is a caring, straightedge man with a secret — a daughter who the world is about to discover.
When they move to my small town, their secret is blown. He needs my help to keep her out of the media, and with each exchange we grow closer. Only problem is I need to stay away from the memories he ignites, and the temptations he brings my way.
Secrets I’ve kept and thoughts of that fatal night come crashing back into my life. I have to wonder if it was more than fate that brought his little girl into my classroom.

Lauren Runow never ceases to amazes me how she creates a story and characters that draw you into their life that you grow so many feelings for them. You know that feeling when your stomach just drops and has butterflies in them? Well you get that in this book so many times! You get ALL the feelings here. I rarely cry tears when reading a book but I did several times with this book with Adam and Sarah’s backgrounds and Sarah’s relationship with her father and Adams relationship with his daughter. I loved seeing their relationship grow after their past struggles, and it was heartbreaking so much that you were there experiencing it with them. I freaking loved seeing them grow as individuals and together as a family. Thank you Lauren Runow for all the feelings you put me through with this book! I didn’t want it to end!
This is definitely a 2019 Must Read!

3.5/4 stars
I don’t know how Lauren was able to make this book both wholesome and HOT at the same time!
Talk about dichotomy of the “good girl” who goes to church, sings in the choir and believes in God; and the “bad boy” who grew up rough, likes his music hard, and looks like every dad’s worst tattooed nightmare. These two couldn’t come from more different backgrounds, but are perfectly matched with each other.
It was such a surprise to read the story of Adam and Sarah. This was not a second chance romance, but a second chance at catching your dreams, and in the process, falling in love. I hope there is more to come. I would love to see what comes of the rest of the band.
I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars!! From the very first page I was locked into these characters and could not put the book down. It was completely filled with emotionally charged secrets and an accident that destroyed a future. Adam Jacobson and his adorable daughter Cailin not only show the reader that you cannot judge a book by it’s cover but that everyone has crosses to bear. Throw in Sarah Russo and the plot just got better. Devastatingly beautiful is the only way I can describe it. Not only is this a must read but it will be one you will want to read again and again.

Single dad?
Pastor’s daughter?
Single dad is a rock star?
Adam and Sarah’s story is a slow burn of a story. After her dreams were shattered, she’s been living, but not living life to the fullest.
Until Adam walks into her life.
I completely and utterly adore Adam. He is not what is expected of the rock star, and his daughter is the absolute bees knees. Shes a 30 year old in a 5 year old’s body, but you cannot help but smile whenever she is on the page.
This whole story has the feel of Footloose, except with rock music instead of dancing being the worst thing in the world.
One thing though (this is my thing and won’t bother anyone else) – I am an athiest and all the God and church stuff was just ugh. Sarah’s dad being a Pastor and being such a judgemental ar$e frustrated me. Again, this is my issue, nothing to do with the story or anything.
I enjoyed falling in love along with our lovelies, and I am looking forward to what Ms Runow brings us in the future.
Sarah Russo was living her dream singing with her band in NYC when tragedy struck. She returned home to her parent’s narrow-minded strict religious town and became a teacher. The spark went out of her eyes and her life.
When rock star singer Adam Jacobson moves to her town and his adorable daughter Cailin enrolls in her kindergarten class, Sarah gets a wake up call. He has been her crush and inspiration for years. There is an immediate attraction between them but now Sarah is just the preacher’s daughter and only sings in church. Her other life is buried along with her band members.
Adam, however, is persistent and is very attracted to Cailin’s teacher.
The more Sarah gets to know him and sees his unwavering love and loyalty to his daughter, she realizes the man behind the guitar and tattoos is amazing. Adam sees there is a lot more to his daughter’s church singing teacher, too. Watching them try to keep the sexual tension under control as they want to take it slow and do it right is like trying to control a wildfire.
With her father’s hatred of rock music and the town’s narrow-minded mentality, the backlash at Adam and Sarah is tough. Can Sarah deal with that lifestyle again, considering the scars she bears, both inside and out? This book was more than just a romance, it’s about how prejudice and misconceptions can hurt. People need to be more open and give each other a chance by getting to know them. Don’t judge others. I loved the faith and hope expressed in this book and I adored all the characters. Linda was such a special woman and Adam’s band members were like family. The epilogue was amazing and I give this book FIVE ROCKING STARS!!
Can you hear me now?
Lauren Runrow has absolutely nailed the swoon rockstar romance.
I swooned and sighed my way through this entire book.
Meet Adam Jacobson. Single father. Sexy rockstar. Voice and body of a god. Troubled past.
Meet Sarah Russo. Kindergarten teacher. Lost soul. Musical junkie. Tragically changed destiny.
Adam and Sarah’s story is so sweet. Based on the song Hear Me Now by Bad Wolves featuring Diamante, Lauren perfectly captures the meaning of the song and brings it to life.
Her ability to create scenes is breathtaking. Literally, my heart raced with the excitement of the concerts. My soul wept with Sarah’s pain. My heart ached with the emotional entrapment of Adam’s singing.
This is easily going to be one of my top rockstar romances of all time.
All. The. Stars.
Highly recommend for anyone. There are so many tropes in this one, it’s hard to nail down just one for you.
And as always from my reviews, my top quotes from the book:
“Music might have been the cause of my pain, but it was still my doctor, my therapy, and my lifeline.”
““Sarah.” It rolls off his tongue in a raspy baritone that makes it sound more like a song lyric than just five letters, and I swear, my heart skips a beat.”
“I love this man. I love the person he is, the dad he is, and I love the way he lights my soul on fire. He’s everything I thought I’d never have.”
This was such a beautiful story. Full of so many feels. This was another one that I just had to hug my kindle when I was done. I love when authors make you fall so hard for a story. Ms. Runow has such a way with words. This is an absolute must read!
Honestly this book has been on my Kindle for a while and now I am kicking myself because I absolutely loved this story. Don’t we all daydream of meeting our crush and falling in love, even better if he is a rockstar?. Sarah was hiding her true self from everyone until Adam awakened her heart and gave her the strength and backing to chase her dreams. It didn’t hurt that Caitlin was absolutely adorable and enjoyed her role as cupid. Adam proves that people shouldn’t judge covers and Sarah’s transformation left me with a smile on my face.
My heart broke when Sarah went through what she did as she was trying to break into the music business. And it was tough to watch her fight her way back to any kind of stability when she had a father who was tearing her down at every turn. Giving up her dreams to teach kindergarten in her home town was not what she had originally planned, but she’s making the best of it when a little girl changes the way she sees her world… and is the bridge to a better dream than she could have ever asked for.
I love when characters have to work to become who they wish to be, and both Sarah and Adam were those kinds of people in this story. It makes their “happily ever after” that much sweeter. This book had me going back to reread another book I’d read by this author a couple of years ago for which I never got around to leaving a review. I definitely will this time.

OMG!! There is nothing about this that I don’t love!! Our Song is in-freaking-credible! Lauren Runow hits you with the feels from the first page and keeps the emotions on simmer for the whole book. My heart is all kinds of hungover right now.
This book was emotionally fulfilling all at the same time.
Lauren how I love your words!! <3 No matter what this author writes, I’m amazed by her talent. I really liked the romance and characters this author created here. Lauren is exquisite in her storytelling. Her words cascade off the page and into your soul.
Adam Jacobson is such an incredible man that you just fall in love with him.
The writing was engaging and emotive while the storyline was entertaining, active, and well-paced. These two characters are completely intertwined in my heart for life.
This story is packed with so much passion I was gasping, a Rockstar romance that will win your heart in so many ways.
sweet but steamy story. Loved the characters
Ok same old predictable ending. A little boring.
Our Song is such a good love story. Our main character has tried to live her dream and had it all go terribly wrong. So she moves back to her hometown and her controlling father. She is living a decent life as a kindergarten teacher, just not her dream.
Until one year a special little girl becomes her student. She doesn’t find out right away but her student’s father is famous. Not everyone is happy about this rock star being in their community but She makes a point to try to see him as a human and dad not the rocker. The rest of the story will have you flying through the pages. I don’t want to give to much away. But I loved the way it turned out.
Our Song was a nice, romantic read. There were threads of depth woven through that expressed pain and heartache but mostly it was a feel good romance with two characters who are immediately taken with each other. The story progresses as their relationship does in a slow burn fashion. Very low angst and a great supporting cast.
I really enjoyed this book. Sarah had been an aspiring musician when a tragedy changed her career path. Adam is a rock star, and a single father. While the rest of the town judges him based on his looks and music, Sarah actually understands him. I loved them together, and Adam was an amazing father. The interactions with his daughter are priceless.
I did think the situation with Sarah’s father was resolved a bit quickly, and I had a hard time buying he would come around so quickly after just one talk with Adam, while Sarah had been trying to get him to support her dreams for years with no luck. Still, I was happy it was resolved.
I hope the other band members get their own books, because they seem like an interesting bunch!

Our Song by Lauren Runow – 3 stars
Lauren Runow continues to bring us stories that take strong hold of your heart and keeps you on the edge through the whole journey.
This whole book has author’s foot marks all over it and it’s easy to see what her passion is.
Music is the center of this story and the main characters Adam and Sarah play their roles excellently.
One horrible event in Sarah’s life took away all her hopes to pursue her biggest dream.
She was alive but she wasn’t living, her life moved on while she got stuck in the moment when her life was all the could dream of.
Everyday was the same until one little girl started in her class and they got really found of one another. And to make the matters even better the little girl’s father was none other than the great Adam, rockstar of the famous band Devil’s Breed.
This was one sweet love story with a happy ending.
There was some tension but not as much as I expected and hoped for to be honest.
But it was entraining and I did enjoy it.
