Charlotte never thought she’d be staring down the barrel of a gun when she walked into her thankless bank job. Especially one that is held by her childhood neighbor and the boy who broke her young heart, Tucker. And the last thing she expected was to become his hostage. What ensues is a story of heartbreak, recovery, passion, and prevailing through it all to save the love that still burns between … between them.
“Aarons takes a typical boy next door romance and turns it on its head. No flowers and sweet, swoon-worthy late night stolen kisses here. There is grit and suspense and a struggle to move forward; and Aarons does it flawlessly.” -The Read Report

We are still. So. Damn. Lost.
FOUND
We found each other where no else could.
Found a purpose. Found ourselves. Found love.
Again.
But then life got in the way.

The Captive Heart Duet is absolutely unique.
Carrie Aaron’s creates a unique story line with her new duet, The Complete Captive Heart. Based on the synopsis, you’d think this was a classic tale of Stockholm syndrome where the girl falls desperately in love with her captor. However, Aaron delivers a completely different and unique spin with Lost and Found.
In Lost, we start at the beginning of Char and Tucker. Two childhood acquaintances who come to find peace together escaping the horrible homes they both live in. While neither home is outright abusive physically, it’s the mental toll that brings these two unlikely friends together. Years later, they find themselves once again tossed together as Tucker robs Char’s employer and takes her hostage.
Lost was absolutely riveting. I loved the way Aaron’s took us back and forth through time really solidifying how these two got to where they were, the unique bond they shared and the reason why Char fell back in love with her captor.
In Found, we are left the the after effects of a relationship put through tumultuous times. As interesting as it was, it was an absolutely heavy read. You’ll find no fairytale and happily ever after story here. Aaron writes a passionate, but bitter truth of two souls finding themselves and staying together despite every obstacle. It’s a unique romance. Once my thoughts couldn’t part with at the end of the book. Char and Tucker have remained in my thoughts days after reading, which is how I know it’s a fabulous book well worth reading.
The Captive Heart Duet is absolutely unique. So different from most of what Aaron’s writes, however I truly think it’s probably one of her best set of books to date. Her thought provoking story line was captivating, well written and truly something that kept me engaged until the very end. I highly recommend you one click this duet.
Carrie Aarons delivers a completely different and exceptionally unique story-line in her new duet, The Complete Captive Heart. This duet was unlike anything we have ever read from this author before. It was thought provoking, captivating, well written and had me hooked from beginning to end.
In Lost, we meet Tucker, who isn’t the same beautiful poster boy that he once was. He is a dirty, homeless addict that has reached rock bottom and because of this, he is on the lam with Charlotte, who is a girl from his past that he now holds hostage. I thought their backstory was riveting seeing how they got to where they were, the bond that they shared and how they reconnected and slowly developed feelings. The buildup was fantastic and constantly had me on the edge.
In Found, it has been three years and everything has changed. Nothing comes easy to the two of them and adjusting to their new reality really is no different. All of the excitement has died down and now they are faced with the consequences of their actions. This one was a bit slower paced than what we were given in Lost, but it is needed to sort through all of the emotional pain and drama that seemed to follow them around. And once they put in the necessary work, they were finally able to reach their happily ever after.
Their story covered years, and the chemistry between them burned bright despite all of the tumultuous times. I loved their unconventional relationship and how it wasn’t all hearts and rainbows. I think that is what truly sold it for me. I thought it was more real. More believable. Overall, this is an exceptional duet that I would highly recommend that you read. It is well worth the time and the money spent.
