Mimi Knotley and her friend, Sara Domico, are getting ready for the Wine and Art class at the shop in Wickrock Bay when Bank President Samantha Hamilton pushes her way in, 2 hours before the event, to get a look at the pictures before all the other guests. She is angry when Mimi and Sara refuse to give her the advantage she is demanding. But surprisingly when the event starts, Samantha is not among the guests! Her body is found later outside in the gutter near Mimi’s apartment.
Chief Rod Thompson is dispatched to begin a murder investigation, questioning the attendees at Mimi’s event. Mimi, of course, decides to assist, even though her help is not wanted by the Chief who doesn’t want her to get hurt meddling in police business. He would have lots of suspects, however, since Samantha Hamilton was not a popular person – even Baxter growls when he hears her name! Because of her pushy ways, she didn’t have many true friends, but murder was an extreme way to respond!
Mimi also has a mystery regarding the man who was shadowing her movements, from an organization that monitors Internet searches for unusual powers. Who is he and what does he want? Is he a danger to her?
This was a good book with a mystery for Mimi to dig into, even though she probably shouldn’t get involved. The story line is good, and the characters are likable. I hope that Mimi gets some more of her powers to explore! Grab your copy and enjoy solving the murder with Mimi and the Chief!

The first book was slow, but I thought, well she doesn’t know her powers yet so I will stick with it and see how the series continues. I was disappointed in this one, it just moves too slow for me, and Mimi still doesn’t know much about her powers. I am intrigued about the man who keeps showing up, that terrifies Mimi. Will I read the next book? I not sure, I guess time will tell.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mimi needs to share her secret with one person. What does that bring? During her monthly Wine and Art get together, every one is happy because one person has not shown yet. Guess What; they find her body. You know what happens now – have to solve the mystery.
Great fun , fast, easy to read book. Can do it in a few hours . I really love that they are quick and fast. Helps me feel like I have accomplished something, lol.
I have to admit that I had thought that I had not read the first book and would need to go back for more info on the mysterious hooded figure. I realized I had read it when I came to write this review. I will still go back and reread it since this a wonderful easy to read and fast – in a few hours series.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

Another great story by Wendy Meadows. Love this series, the small town feeling and the citizens of Wickrock Bay. Mimi still does not know what her new powers entail and the strange man who is trying to talk to her just scares her. Another murder adds suspense and the list of possible suspects just keeps getting bigger. Will Mimi embrace her new powers or will she continue to ignore them? Highly recommend to all cozy mystery lovers.

Mimi seems to be developing telekinetic powers. So far, it has helped her clean out dusty and hard to reach furniture, and to relocate other furniture and knick knacks- and that is about it.
Good friend Sara accidentally caught her in the act. Otherwise only a mysterious tall stranger seems to be the only link.
Mimi really enjoys running her little antique shop, and especially likes sourcing for the shop while traveling. She also likes the monthly Wine and Art nights held at her shop once per month.
What Mimi and fellow shop owner Sara do not enjoy is the bossy, wealthy Samantha Hamilton. She throws her weight around at events and locales all around. Mrs. Hamilton has the temerity to show up two hours early for the latest Wine and Art event – and Mimi sends her on her way- firmly.
Such an unpopular woman has a host of potential suspects.
Much ado in this small town- and in the exciting KU read!
I received an advance copy from Booksprout. I read the book on Kindle. I have read most of the books in this series and several others from this author on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
