A very dark but delectable read. The Girl in The Basket is such a stunningly dark and twisted book. It takes you to places that you never in your wildest dreams would expect to enjoy let alone want more of. A unique and spellbinding story that pushed all of my boundaries and threw me into an intriguing world of alternative kink. I highly recommend you read this book.
Although I always have something to say, I am sort of struck dumb after reading this book. Who was the girl in the basket? Throughout my reading, I thought it was Mary Mole, quiet but so wanting to explode watching through the wicker basket, as her two teachers, Miss Jackson, and Mr. Hardy have hot and steamy sex. But she gets caught. By Mr. Hardy who admits that he has been lusting after her, watching her, as she plays with herself in that wicker basket. But he has a plan and he convinces Mary to join him. But what she doesn’t know, is that Miss Jackson is also in on the plan, a plan so filthy, so disturbing, so utterly ridiculous, that it works. Until Pops enters and shatters this whole dream-like sequence and we learn about the real girl in the basket.
This is the last book on my list of James Crow novels, and the one that caused me the most anxiety. Why did Mary allow herself to be used in such a way because the things that were done to her could only come from a book? They certainly cannot be real, could they? Yes, they could, and so much more done in the name of kinky, unprincipled, and perverted sex. We read as Mary’s fantasies multiply and finally erupt as she goes deeper into this world of entanglement and obsession.
You never know what you get with James Crow. But you always get the number six, and the colours yellow and blue. And you always get screwed-up and bold characters that keep pushing the limits with deviant and lewd sex. But this book left me with a lot of sadness thinking about all the girls who have their own baskets that never open up to allow them to live out their dreams.
Massive 5 Stars from me.
The Girl in the Basket is another well written read by James Crow, it contains all the hot, kinky fuckery we love about his books but this one is steeped in mystery and has a much darker edge than any of his previous books.
No spoilers from me, one click for a read that will take you far away, have you hot from lust & fear!!!
ENJOY THE THRILL!!!
Such a gripping story. This has James Crow hallmark, stamped all over it but yet it’s a story that is unique in its own right. The kink and the twists just kept building. The visuals, radiated off the pages. The flow of the words, circulated around my mind and held it hostage.
An astonishing tale that had many layers -a story you can really get your teeth into. There are characters that won’t ever be forgotten, scenes that were kinky hot, and acts that were exquisitely eye-popping dark.
Enjoy the fascinating, crazy ride!
In true James Crow fashion, he continues to amaze us with his wicked twisted tales.
Mary Mole is quite the character.
This story is filled with all sorts of kinky twisted fuckery.
Well done Sir.
You have once again impressed us with your evil genius.
