Ain’t She Sweet? Not exactly . . .The girl everybody loves to hate has returned to the town she’d sworn to leave behind forever. As the rich, spoiled princess of Parrish, Mississippi, Sugar Beth Carey had broken hearts, ruined friendships, and destroyed reputations. But fifteen years have passed, and life has taught Sugar Beth its toughest lessons. Now she’s come home—broke, desperate, and too … and too proud to show it.
The people of Parrish don’t believe in forgive and forget. When the Seawillows, Sugar Beth’s former girlfriends, get the chance to turn the tables on her, they don’t hesitate. And Winnie Davis, Sugar Beth’s most bitter enemy, intends to humiliate her in the worst possible way.
Then there’s Colin Byrne. . . . Fifteen years earlier, Sugar Beth had tried to ruin his career. Now he’s rich, powerful, and the owner of her old home. Even worse, this modern-day dark prince is planning exactly the sort of revenge best designed to bring a beautiful princess to her knees.
But none of them have reckoned on the unexpected strength of a woman who’s learned survival the hard way.
While Sugar Beth’s battered heart struggles to overcome old mistakes, Colin must choose between payback and love. Does the baddest girl in town deserve a second chance, or are some things beyond forgiving?
Ain’t She Sweet? is a story of courage and redemption. . . of friendship and laughter. . . of love and the possibility of happily-ever-after.

Still to this day one of my favorite authors. The twists and unexpected turns in this book not only make these characters memorable but lovable no matter what your feelings started off as.
I loved this book! Characters were so real.
Enjoyed this book so much I bought it as gifts for my sister and daughter-in-law.
Absolutely delightful! I laughed and giggled. Finally, it ended with a smile and a happy sigh!!
Loved it…I have all of her books ,a wonderful writer..can’t wait for a new book!
This isn’t exactly a recent book, but it so perfect, I had to include it in my reviews and recommendations. Susan Elizabeth Phillips has one of the best author voices in the business, and who doesn’t love the story of a mean girl redeemed?
Susan Elizabeth Phillips is one of my all time favorite authors. I have read and reread everyone of her books. Even tough I know the ending, I still cry and laugh and enjoy every page!
This is on my top 5 favorite Romance list. I love the characters, and the plot. It was a moving, and believable story. It is one of my best book friends that I go back and reread. I cannot recommend it enough.
My favorite SEP.
Sugar Beth Carey is determined to turn over a new leaf in a town that only know her for the bratty, spoiled beauty she once was. She’s a little hard to take on first meeting, but she won me over with her dedication to righting the wrongs she did as a teenager.
“So far in my major book reading lately I have found that no one else but Susan Elizabeth Phillips can write a great romance novel where every single one (thus far that I’ve read) deals with opposites attracting to each other (or at least that’s what the characters believe in the beginning). My favorite of her novels is still “Match Me If You Can” …
This is a book I reread! It’s soooo good!
Good, quick read and well written
Can’t read scary who done its all the time, need to take a break on occasion and this is light and entertaining.
I liked it UNTIL the end. Spoiler alert, you might want to stop reading now. In the beginning of the book, main character says can’t get pregnant. Then at the end of the book, she is pregnant. No explanation by author. Did she forget what she wrote?
I enjoy her books but prefer the older stories to the newer
I love it when seemingly villainous characters are redeemed (and did that myself in Kismet’s Kiss). Susan Elizabeth Phillips does an *incredible* job with it in AIN’T SHE SWEET. These characters are unique, engrossing and utterly wonderful. One of my all-time favorite books.
