Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife. Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious … stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.
But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.
So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?

The Locker Room is not just a sports romance book, it is a sweet story about young love, with well written with characters that come across as real and genuine. This entire book is a beautiful slow burn about a growing love between the beautiful and sassy Emory and smart, swoon worthy Knox. They meet in college and start out as friends but through comfortable conversations they slowly grow to become so much more than friends. The turning point in their relationship is where the true fun part of this story begins, with a bet about who will give into their desires for the other first. This becomes a sexy game of foreplay between Emory and Knox that will surely set fire to the pages.
In true Meghan Quinn style this book is the perfect mix of witty banter, memorable characters and a fun storyline!
I loved this story and I know you will too!
5 And There’s A Wager Stars!!!
Where to begin with my feelings about Knox and Emory…I’m not sure I can convey appropriately how much I LOVED this story. I’m a huge fan of Ms. Quinn, her books and stories and this one is no different. But I felt an immediate connection not only with our heroine Emory but with Knox as well. He’s a know-it-all confident kind of guy that will stop at nothing to get what and who he wants and after their first meeting, which had me rolling, he’s determined that Emory is the girl for him.
But it’s a battle to get this girl because she is okay with her quiet life rooming with her two besties and having come off a rather painful breakup that literally had me wanting to junk-punch her Ex. But how can she resist the sexy, funny, confident top player on the baseball team? I mean he goes to some great lengths to wiggle his way into her heart and he totally had me swooning!!
Emory doesn’t make it easy for him, they have rules if they’re going to explore some kind of romantic relationship. But he has rules too which I absolutely loved!!! These two are so funny together she calls him out when it’s necessary and Knox hasn’t ever had that before. Their text exchanges had me snort laughing too!!
Ms. Quinn definitely knows how to write a slow burn because that’s exactly what we get in this book…don’t get me wrong, there’s some definite fooling around, and holy wowza, there’s a dry hump scene that was H.O.T.!!! And what predicates this dry-hump scene is probably one of the best wagers EVER!!!
This whole book is pure perfection…until a certain point and I just wanted to throw my kindle with a decision that was made…it did NOT make me happy!!! But leave it to Ms. Quinn to make it up to us and basically redeems the story…but it was a painful process that’s for sure… regardless, this is a MUST READ book. The story, our H/h, the secondary characters are AH-MAZAING!! Knox’s Mom is a freaking hoot and then there’s Carson and Holt, Knox’s BFF’s and Dottie and Lindsay, Em’s BFF’s they just add that extra layer of hilarity, sassiness and most importantly deep abiding friendship rounding off this book that’s absolutely in my top reads for 2019!!!

Holy forking shark.
I can’t even.
This book.
I’m blown away, utterly blown away.
It’s no secret that I’m fully and undeniably in love with Meghan Quinn books, this lady’s books do things to me. The writing, the characters, the bloody everything.
Knox and Emory was bloody amazing. Absolutely amazing.
They was perfect, yes they had their ups and downs but everyone has their flaws.
I’ll start with Emory first, she was amazing. She was funny, witty and cute. She had her moments when i wanted to shake her but i saw her reasons.
Knox *sigh* Knox F’in Gentry.
He stole my heart good and proper. He took it and run away and I’m pretty sure I’m not getting it back. I don’t want it back. He can have it. He was HAWT. I honestly can not get enough of him. The banter and laughs he has with his roommates and Emory had me in stitches, the things he came out with had me shaking my head laughing. Seriously this guy was perfect for Emory. I’ll unhappily be his side chick 😉
So incase you didn’t guess already.. absolutely hated the book. Don’t read it and fall in love with Knox Gentry.
HE’S MINE.
The end.
Meghan Quinn captured way too many brilliant and outstanding qualities in The Locker Room that my dazed and oh-so-full heart almost couldn’t process. If it was possible to die from overdose of swoon, laughter and angsty tears, I would be so dead by now. And it won’t be a bad thing at all.
In true Meghan Quinn style, The Locker Room packed impossible punches of witty banter. Think about a classic love story between a star college baseball player and a nerd girl. And then try to think about all the kind of twists and new takes on this age old love story. And I bet even then you won’t possibly this story line coming. Knox is more than perfect. He can be cocky, arrogant and charming. And he can be a genuine friend and pillar of strength for Emory. Emory can be a shy, vulnerable and insecure girl recovering from a brutal betrayal. But she can at the same time be the sassy spitfire with unconditional love in blink of an eyelid. I was fascinated, I was mesmerized and I was freaking floored by these two beyond amazing characters!
The story has a considerable amount of heartbreak and tears. Seriously I was wiping my eyes and clutching my heart and thinking that it is too much and I cannot go on. Such was the pull and effect of Meghan’s words. Their chemistry was flirty and funny and swoonworthy most of the time. But for me the shredding-my-heart-and-breaking-into-tiny-pieces parts were the winner. I am a sucker for love stories which can balance heat, heart, sweet and angst perfectly.
The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn made me irrevocably, hopelessly and mindlessly fall in love with Knox and Emory. I loved the smiles, the tears, the passion, the emotions and just everything about this story. I went deep from the first chapter and did not come back to reality till I finished it. I didn’t want it to end. Too good, too perfect and too great.
Received ARC for Honest Review by PP’S BOOKSHELF
ACK!!! AWESOME!! This book, OMG wonderful story, funny, sexy, and everything in between. I love how Meghan Quinn writes books about anything and makes them great! This one is no exception, getting the major brush off from the girl that makes you want more is just the thing to get this book going, and it never stops. Throw in some serious family issues, and a crazy Thanksgiving trip and you have the perfect book!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review
I need to preface this review by saying that I adore Meghan Quinn and think she is a very talented writer. I also want to say that I think a lot of people will love this book, but I couldn’t get into it.
Meghan has a quirky and fun writing style, and I always laugh when reading her books, so I am not even sure where the disconnect was. I didn’t seem to latch on to Knox and Emory characters, and then it was hard for me to get behind the story. I also am finding that New Adult maybe isn’t my genre.
Again, the writing is lovely, Meghan Quinn never disappoints with her wit and charm, so I have to recommend everyone give her try.
5+ Stars
This is a great, fun read but I must warn you, you might have a tear or two. I could not put this book down. I laughed so hard at times.
I am in love with these characters but mostly I’m in love with Knox! OMG, that man is so freaking swoon-worthy, witty, sexy as sin, sweet, patient and just downright dreamy. He had me from the first boob cuddle. And Em… she is everything I want to be one day; she is strong-willed (Knox would say stubborn), sassy, independent and just an awesome character.
The banter between Emory and Knox was hilarious and refreshing. I loved how Knox squeezed his way into her life, into her heart even though she tried to resist every step of the way. This story was more than a romance story, it was about lasting friendships, trust and being unselfish even when it breaks your own heart. There were times I wanted to reach in and shake a character but in the end, I understood why they did what they did.
These characters will stay with me for a long, long time. I hope there’s a book for some of the side characters because they were fan-freaking-tastic!
Meghan Quinn, you are an amazing writer and I can’t wait to read more. Yes, I say this with every book but seriously, I don’t know how she does it. Meghan can bring the characters to life and more so, you make them so realistic. Job well done!
Meghan Quinn reminds readers why she is a well written powerhouse of epic emotions with her slow burn, angst driven release The Locker Room. The Locker Room is a loosely based sports romance, however the real focus is between college baseball star, Knox Gentry and college librarian intern, Emory Ealson.
Witty banter, hilarious fails, wonderful characters are just a few things you’ll find between the pages of this new release. Quinn continues to engage us with her comedic antics and fun loving characters, however she brings the emotion full throttle giving us something slightly different from her average rom-com. Emory and Knox have this undeniable pull and tug love affair that is irresistible. Knox’s constant pursuit, sweet gestures and full on love of Oreos will have you begging for more long after he has won our librarian’s heart.
This for me is Meghan Quinn at her best, a story with all the feels as well as perfect witty banter that flows so naturally between her characters. I’m in love with Knox and Emory and I’m sure if you give this book a chance you will be as well.
You might be mistaken in thinking another sports romance well The Locker Room is so much more than just a sports romance, it’s a romance where the past needs to be set free in order for the future to succeed, it’s about friendship and love as well as second changes but it also has this author’s trade mark humour which makes this book the total package. The characters have chemistry and this book certainly had my emotions all over the place, I laughed, I sighed and my heart was broken and then put back together again as I got to know Knox and Emory. The Locker Room is a beautifully written captivating story that will certainly be on my best reads of 2019.
WOW!! I loved this book. Meghan Quinn is known for her romantic comedies. She’s perfected them. Quirky and undeniably charming, The Locker Room is a must read. Knox is beyond adorable. His self confidence is off the charts but so is his big heart. Emory is a little jaded but together they are magical. The chemistry was off the charts as well as their constant banter. I’m sure this will be a book that I’ll re-read often. Five Stars!!!
4.5 Cranky Stars
Legend says that any upperclassman baseball player who brings his girl to the locker room they’ll have a ring on their finger and married in five years. Past couplings and marriages have proven this was true but Knox Gentry thinks it’s just coincidence and doesn’t play into the hype. Emory is a transplant to Brentwood U and has heard the tale and seen the girls try hard to get into that locker room. She thinks it’s all ridiculous and desperate. She refuses to be that girl.
Emory has left sunny Cali behind with her heart and her mind holding together by very cheap tape. Her high school boyfriend of 6 years was caught in a compromising position and that sent her running. She lands at Brentwood University with her two bet friends to get a library sciences degree. When her campus map smacks a tall handsome guy in the face she’s beyond embarrassed but he also looks oddly familiar. It isn’t until they strike up a conversation does it come to light who he is. She knows she is still broken and goes into this relationship very tentatively but little does she know he will change her life.
Knox Gentry is a baseball god. He is that good but he’s also very modest about his skills and really isn’t this big womanizer people like to think he is. Baseball is his first and only love maybe Oreos coming in a close second. He isn’t looking to find the love of his life but he doesn’t dodge the idea either. When he meets Emory he knows he has found the one. He moves at her pace and shows her what a good guy he is. Slow and steady will win this race but will it end with a broken heart?
I loved Knox. A lot of times sports romances have the guy with this big ego and plays the field (not literally playing sportsball on a field) and Knox wasn’t that guy. He was just a genuine guy who was pretty funny at times with a big heart. Emory was a good mix. She was broken and in a lot of ways innocent but was a spitfire. She might look like a sexy meek librarian but she was far from it. She gave him a run for his money. I loved Mama G too. She made me laugh. I kind of want to know whats going on with Holt? Who’s the girl?? I would love to see everyone get their happily ever after in this book. If you love college sports romances that will span some years that are steamy and swoony this is for you.
The Locker Room Review:
This book had me hooked by the prologue. I was snort laughing by the first page.
Knox was all the things. I LOVED him. I loved how determined he was to get Emory to see him as more…. more than a Jock, more than another dude that was gonna break her heart.
Emory pulled off fake bravado pretty darn well and kept Knox on his toes, and she definitely embodied the whole fake it till you make it, because her relationship with Knox is what helps her find herself again.
This book has it all. All the humor and all the feels.
This book was fun, it was sweet, it was laugh out loud funny, and truly addicting from start to finish.
I wasn’t expecting to feel so much emotion while reading this, but it was hard not to. It was hard not to completely fall for Knox and Emory’s story.
Emory is starting at a new school with her BFF’s after ending a six-year relationship with her jerk of an ex. She was hurt and she isn’t going to trust any man easily. Knox is a baseball star, he is on track to join the major leagues, he has never had a serious relationship but when he meets Emory there is something about her that he can’t turn way. Their first “meeting” at a party was funny, but the first official run in, and I mean literal run in, is super adorable.
I loved their instant friendship and that no matter what happened they would always keep that friendship. I loved that Knox was insanely sweet and his patience to take things slow. I think he stole my heart and instantly become my number one book boyfriend.
Emory decides they need rules, she still has her walls up and isn’t completely ready to jump into another relationship, she isn’t ready to fully trust another man, but she can’t deny her connection to Knox.
Rule 1: “Friends forever and always”
Rule 2: ” lots and lots of oral. Pants-loan, no boatloads of oral. more oral than anyone can ever imagine.”
Rule 3: “keep things casual.”
Rule 4: “no matter how casual we are, we are always exclusive. That means my penis is the only penis you’re fondling.”
Meghan Quinn wrote a beautiful sports romance that is full of love, second chances, tears, laughs, steaminess. It is so easy to get lost in the story, fall in love with Knox and Emory and their friends.
Oh Ms. Meghan!! You have done it again! You made me fall in love with the world you created, you made me fall in love with Emory and Knox!
The Locker Room is everything you love about Meghan Quinn and more! She is the queen of romantic comedy! I was laughing out loud!
She is also the queen of giving you all the feels!! I was crying and screaming “NO” in my head numerous times! A true testament to her weaving magic with her words!
Emory is a fantastic heroine! I empathized with her, I loved her stubbornness. I fell in love with her for her bravery in her actions when it came to Knox. I understood her reasoning but I also wanted to shake her and say “What the Hell!!”
Knox, oh for the love of all swooniness. This boy/man is everything you could ask for in a hero! He too is stubborn and I applauded his determination and dedication to all things Emory. He is what every girl wants in a boyfriend!
Readers, you are gonna FLOVE this story hard! I promise! Get your hands on this story, dive in and become submersed in the world of Brentwood College, Chicago and baseball!! What a winning combination!
Shes new in town yet sashaying her hips in a drunken manner at the loft wondering what the golden ticket to the locker room is all about.
Normally he prides himself on his bedroom etiquette, but waking with his hand around a boob, makes him realise he failed to seal the deal that drunken night.
She cant believe how embarrassing it all was, and now hes here infront of her. Cocky and confident, fine and delicious with nowhere for her to hide!
Maybe fate will be kind, he wont remember.. pffft nope!
What a fantastic face aching, smile worthy read!
Splashes of comedy, some which had me cackling like a five year old, and lots of swoon worthy good old fashioned wooing all entwined together to melt your heart.
Angst, and drama, tears and goodness this book literally has all the perfect ingredients to make a bestseller!
Emory is beautiful, I loved everything about her selfless character. From her pain inflicting red haze anger to her cheeky sassyness.
Knox starts out as your typical jock/althete kind of character. Oozing confidence and arrogance, but soon you see underneath the facade he presents to the world and hes just a boy who loves to play and wants the girl by his side.
I was so excited to read this from the moment I first heard about it and had high expectations. I’m so happy to say that this exceeded all that and was so much more!
Im walking away with a full heart, and a silly smile on my face. Love it!
Note to self…never miss a book by Meghan Quinn, because you will regret it!! The Locker Room is going to be on my list of favourite books forever. Knox and Emory have to be one of the most delightful couples I have ever read about..and I love Elizabeth and Darcy!! Just saying…
Meghan always writes books that have a ton of charm, wit, humour, gorgeous characters and delicious love. In The Locker Room she has made me laugh so much at the banter between these two, and even brought tears to my eyes. Oh for an even longer epilogue…yes, I am that greedy! Written with confidence and style, this book is a 5 star plus piece of fabulousness and I love it! I even looked up information about baseball!!!
