The Blue Butterfly was a club for extreme pleasure. But I wasn’t there for pleasure…I’d come to sell my virginity. To the Highest Bidder.FreyaSince Dad died and left us high and dry things have just got worse and worse for Mom and me. Unless we find enough money to pay my fees I’m going to be kicked out of college, and even worse my mom is about to become homeless.I didn’t know what to do, how I … become homeless.
I didn’t know what to do, how I could help. I felt completely out of options, until my friend told me I could auction my virginity for thousands of dollars to the highest bidder at a secretive club frequented by billionaires called the Blue Butterfly.
I’ve been saving myself for that elusive once-in-a-lifetime great romance, and that ‘special man’, but I realize now that is just a childish dream. Truth is I’m probably going to lose my virginity to some jerk who will not appreciate it, anyway.
I’d much rather save my mother from more humiliation.
So I applied to the Blue Butterfly, and to my surprise they accepted me.
I thought I knew what to expect. A billionaire who looked like Warren Buffet, or George Soros.
But NOTHING could have prepared me for…my highest bidder.

This story is absolutely amazing. Brent and Freya are wonderful couple. I will say I enjoyed Freya’s friends. Their journey together is done well. The writing and flow of this book is on point. I absolutely recommend this book.
Another amazing read by this author. Dark, dirty with the right amount of suspense to keep you guessing from one thing to the next. I loved brent’s character, he was many things and you didn’t quite know how he would turn out until the end. Freya was stronger than she seemed, taking the wait if the world on her small shoulders, not knowing who to trust.
Bidding on the prize
When I got this book I figured it was going to like it, but maybe not love it. I was wrong! This book totally blew me away. There was so much emotion throughout the book, both from the main characters and their family and friends. What you think is going to be a brief business transaction ends up being a grand love affair that saves one soul and brings so many others safely through the rapids of disaster into the sun. I think this is my new favorite book by this author! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

The Highest Bidder by Georgia Le Carre
Welcome to the Blue Butterfly, a gentleman’s club for the rich and elite. What happens there, stays there. This book is not for the faint of heart. The sex scenes are HOT! It is a good story with some explosive sex scenes. Overall, a good read.
This author is new to me and what an amazing introduction to her work this book was. It left me wanting to check out what else she’s written and I’m expecting good things! My only complaint was that some parts could become confusing and I had to go back to re-read a few pages from before hand. However, I’d certainly recommend this book to anyone who has yet to read it.
5 Stars
Highest Bidder by Georgia Le Carre is an incredibly good read. It is my first book by Ms. Le Carre- and I know I am awfully late to the party… I have so many of her books on my TBR and kindle, but am only now getting around to reading them. I am kicking myself that it took me this long as I loved everything about it and wish I had known how captivating her stories are, because if I had, I would have devoured every book of hers well before now.
This story has tragedy, heartache, grief, hardship, worry, stress, bargains, chemistry, connection, tension, secrets, lies, manipulative characters, schemes, revenge, jealousy, pain, passion, friendship, suspense, intensity, and more. I was so wrapped up in the story that I lost track of time- and ended up reading the book in one sitting. I couldn’t have put it down, as I really need to know how it all played out in the end.
Freya and Brent were brilliant characters- and really set the book on fire. The secondary characters were all really well developed too- and added to the whole storyline. I won’t go into the story here as I really don’t want to spoil it for you- and the blurb really does a great job of letting you know what to expect, to a point- as there were a few surprises that I didn’t expect.
I highly recommend this addictive read and am looking forward to a serious Georgia Le Carre binge ASAP!
Thank you, Ms. Le Carre!
First, is just like to say that this book was a tad bit strange. I liked it, but I think it just had too many things going on. And you never really got to know the love interest very well. And they had gone 10 years in between seeing each other but all of the unfinished business from the past wasn’t resolved in those 10 years. It was just weird. And Brent has a sex club but they never go there? I don’t know. Weird.
Freya’s mother hasn’t been completely honest with her since they lost her father. Her mother mortgaged their apartment (all they had left of the wealth they lost with her father’s death) and were about to lose it. Frey’s takes drastic measures to ensure they don’t lose the little they have left. Brent is the only man Freya has ever been attracted to. Unbeknownst to her, he is the owner of the exclusive billionaire sex club where she decides to sell her virginity.
I love Ms LeCarre’s novels. Her characters are well rounded and fully three dimensional. While reading this novel, I felt as though I was getting a peek into the real lives of real people. Brent and Freya’s chemistry was off the charts. They were so into each other but kept their feelings close in fear of getting hurt.
Aside from The Brent and Freya fireworks, were Freya’s awesome best friends. I loved the relationship between Freya, Maddie and Ellie and hope that they will be getting their own stories. I wish I had a Maddie in my corner!
This is a HEA story with no cliffhanger and some drama but nothing too cringeworthy.
3.5 stars for Highest Bidder by Georgia Le Carre. Freya has no idea how to help her mom get out of debt. After the loss of her father their money is pretty much gone , yet her mother doesn’t understand how to live that way. So instead of losing everything Freya decides to sell the one thing she has left , her virginity. She sets everything up to sell it at an auction at the Blue Butterfly Club. A club known for extreme pleasure.
“My dignity is in my ability to care for my mother.”
She had no idea what to expect but it for sure was not to see someone from her past as her buyer.
This book is filled with ups and downs. It started off a little slow for me but made up for it in the end. I wanted to help Freya, her story was interesting. I liked this story and enjoyed the ending.
After I got through the first five chapters, I enjoyed the book. I liked the main characters but didn’t care too much for Freya’s mother. Brent was an interesting hero.
Great book and I couldn’t put it down until the end.
Loved this virgin auction romance with a twist!! Freya and her mother have been struggling since her father’s passing because her mother won’t live within their means. She thinks the only way out of their mess is to attend the auction, but is floored when she finds out who her million dollar bidder is…the man she has lusted after for years! This is packed with drama, intrigue, secrets, twits and turns and passion that is off the charts!
I loved the mystery and the shock of this story Brent showing up all demanding and keeping his secrets but also fighting with himself to stay away from Freya who I thought was very well written and super strong character, these two were made for each other the attraction is hot and steamy with a lot of bumps in the road from the past and very well written that it does grab your attention to find out all the secrets and intensity of the past and now the present, who could resist these two.
I quite enjoyed reading this rather unusual billionaire/virgin auction romance & found the plot quite intriguing & unpredictable at times. The characters are fairly well-developed, strong-willed & likable.
There is: a young woman out of options & desperate to obtain monetary funds decides to auction her virginity (Freya Anderson), an angry & bitter man who purchases her (Brent Lucan), his brother whom he tried to kill years ago (Liam Lucas), his apparent girlfriend (Judi Mirren), twists & turns, intrigue, drama, some suspense, drama, secrets, mystery, family issues, manipulations, confusion, jealousy, accusations, deceit, blackmail, warnings, bribery, verbal conflict, violence, paranoia, confrontations, revengeful feelings, compromises, declarations, happiness, love, contentment, steamy scenes & a HEA.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

As always, another fantastic novel. I’ve read other books that are kind of like this one where the heroine auctions off her virginity for money but this one was a tad different. The hero is an old acquaintance, and not in a good way. Bad history is coming to the forefront quickly but the love they share will overpower that bad history. Secrets, lies and drama quickly take over. Add in some major sexiness and you have the recipe for a superb novel.
Freya is the one who seems to always take care of the ones she loves. She loyal and loveable and always finds the best in most people, especially her mother. Brent is somewhat scary but downright sexy. Phsyco-ish and handles everything thrown to him no matter the consequences. He is moody for the most part and if he has to kill he will. When you put Freya and Brent together they are unique. The world is against them together and will try every trick in the book to separate them. There connection is extremly strong but will it be enough?
I really enjoyed this book and hope that we get books on Maddie and/or Ella. Freya’s friends are interesting and I would definitely read about them.
Georgia LeCarre never disappoints and she delivers Highest Bidder with eloquent emotion. Freya Anderson’s father died and left her and her mother destitute with no hopes of keeping their way of life, let alone their home. Desperate to make money, Freya decides to auction off her virginity at the extreme pleasure club, the Blue Butterfly. When the gavel comes down, it’s for an amount that is impossibly high and a buyer that Freya could never have guessed. Brent Lucan is the man who bought her virginity and he is anything but a stranger. Not only is he the next Duke of Leighton, but Freya’s been lusting over him for years. As young kids, she walked in on him starting to hit his half-brother, Liam, over the head and never knew what prompted it. Years later, she has to decide if she believes Brent’s or Liam’s side of the story. There is a mystery surrounding the entire Lucan family and secrets that have to be kept. So, too, are there secrets and conflicting stories involving the death of Freya’s father. After spending the night with the man who bought her virginity, Freya not only is happy and excited with everything that happened with Brent, but she wants and hopes to see him again. Brent is an entirely conflicted man and it’s impossible to read his moods, messages or feelings. Both of them need to have a little, no, a lot more honesty if they are ever going to be able to have a satisfying relationship. Their journey toward their HEA is a long one that is governed by Freya’s inability to trust that Brent could want her for herself, Brent’s underlying fears and anger, as well as the most vindictive and desperate “girlfriend” ever! Once again, Georgia has produced a treasure of a book that creates and holds its mood, pace and form from the first page to the last. Fabulous!
This is one of those hummmmm books, some good, some not so good, some left you scratching your head. Freya needs to earn money fast, so decides to sell her virginity, OK, heard that before. Brent ends up buying it, even though he “destroyed” her father. OK!?! Once Freya lost her virginity, she becomes a crazy nymphomaniac, desperately seeking out Brent and having sex anywhere. Seriously!?! Her mother is losing her business and her home, but spends money on caviar. What?!? There are a lot of these moments. The book tended to drag in parts, not my favorite characters. Not my favorite Georgia LeCarre read. Just 2 1/2 Stars from me
***I received an ARC and this is my honest review.***
