** #1 New Release in Classic Humor Fiction **Abigail Apple is running late to meet her blind date when she’s pulled over for speeding. Unfortunately, the follow-the-rules cop doesn’t care that she’s late, let alone that she’s heartbroken because her favorite dog rescue is in danger of being closed. Now she has to meet her date with mud drying on her heels, dog hair covering her dress, and the … and the smell of a barn perfuming her hair. When she arrives, however, Abigail learns her handsome blind date is none other than the cop who pulled her over.
Abigail has no intention of staying until she learns Cooper Hill is heading a committee for the city that will award a six-figure donation to a charity of their choice. So, what’s a girl to do? Abigail decides a second date is the perfect way to convince Cooper to vote for the dog rescue. Soon, however, Abigail is less interested in Cooper’s vote than she is in his deep voice, kind heart, and tender touch.
Will this follow-the-rules cop and this follows-her-heart animal lover learn that despite poor first impressions, second chances can lead to love?

I loved this book! Million Dollar Date is the delightful first book of Susan Hatler’s Do-Over Date series which features Abbigail Apple, a passionate animal activist who gets pulled over for speeding in order to get home to prepare for a blind date, and Cooper Hill, a strait laced by the book police officer who will not excuse her ticket. When Abigail arrives for her blind date in shambles, she is surprised to find he is none other than Cooper. She only stays since he is chairing the city’s committee which will award big funds to a charity. She wants that charity to be her friend’s animal rescue shelter which is in desperate need of funds. This book is a MUST READ since it is truly hilarious and has loveable diametrically opposite characters who somehow come together to find love.

Great concept of a do over for a terrible first meeting than a terrible first date. Love how it all involves rescue of dogs and helping people. Many funny scenes with Abigail trying to find who she is, and fighting her attraction to Cooper. Nice ending where everyone wins including the furry kind.

Oh My! I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing at this book! I was having such a fun time reading it!! Susan Hatler can write some darn good comedy! I was hooked on Abigail and Cooper right from the start!
Abigail Apple is a heart-warming heroine! She wants to do so much for everybody! Her heart is that big! She is quirky and funny and just so endearing! I loved her! Her first meeting with Cooper was hands down the funniest I have read in a long time!
Cooper is one hot officer! He tries to be so tight and by the book, but Abigail allows him to open up page by page! Their romance is sweet and I love the whole thing centering around a dog shelter and various charities! They were a very unique couple that you could not help to root for them!
I loved this book and I look forward to more from Susan Hatler!!
I read a gifted copy of this book by from the publisher through NetGalley. The rating and review is my opinion.
This book was entertaining and fun. I love when books make me smile and this one definitely did that. Awesome dialogue, likeable characters, sweet romance and doggies! Save the doggies! I also love the cover with that bit of sparkle. I’m excited for more in this new series by Susan Hatler!
This was a cute read. Abigail did drive me crazy though but Cooper balances her out.
I loved this book. Susan Hatler has won me over with this book about listening to your heart even when it seems a little crazy. I felt so deeply connected to her main character that when she cried, I cried too. I will definetly be checking out her other books.

Abigail really is something! Yes, she was a nice girl but I had to force myself to like her after the ticket incident. I found her a bit entitled and manipulative. She seems a bit full of herself. Her dedication to the Rescue and the animals is admirable. Major props for her finding her personal truth and being honorable to herself as a woman and a professional. Cooper, I liked. Their “like” was instant. Their courtship was nice. Cooper’s backstory was heartbreaking. Abigail’s backstory was a bit light. I wish there was more depth to the characters. It was a nice story, but a bit light on substance. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Several years ago, I bought a few Susan Hatler ebooks; I didn’t care for them. They weren’t awful, I just kind of remember that I didn’t love the heroines. So when I saw there was an opportunity to get a couple of ARCs from Booksprout by her, I decided to try her again. I’m so glad I did! As always when I review an ARC, I don’t include any spelling/grammar/continuity errors because I expect them to be fixed prior to publication.
Million Dollar Date started a little shaky with the heroine, Abigail, having an internal dialogue that had some cute points, but overall kind of dragged. Then she gets pulled over by a cop and the story picks up the pace. Cooper, the cop and the hero, is definitely by the book while Abigail is definitely not; yet they balance each other nicely. There were some sweet moments, some serious moments and some very funny moments. At times Abigail was a little too over the top, but I ended up liking her and wanting her to have her happy ending. There were some interesting side characters that rounded out this short story nicely.
This is a safe read with no OW/OM drama and no cheating. It is a clean read with just a little kissing at the end. There aren’t any religious overtones. It is a very sweet, easy read which I enjoyed and definitely recommend.
I’m now going to have to reread my old Susan Hatler books to see if I misjudged them the first time and I will most certainly be buying more from this author.
I received an ARC of the book from Booksprout in exchange for my unbiased review.
From speeding ticket to love. This was a very short novel, I finished it in 3 hours. It is a rather soppy story with little to recommend it, as it is too short to allow adequate character and story development. Cooper an uptight police officer and Abigail an animal lover/rescuer are polar opposites, which in itself doesn’t preclude the existence of love between them. I found Abigail’s character really annoying and quite frankly patronizing from the author to portray women as such emotional scatter-brains as Abigail. Sorry this book, in-spite of the HEA wasn’t for me.

I have enjoyed reading everything she has ever written.
This was a fun read! The characters were real, the story was clean, and there were twists I didn’t expect. I like the fact that I didn’t feel cheated at the end of the story. I’m always looking for well written books. I would read this author again.
I received a complementary copy from the author, but my review is totally voluntary.

Million Dollar Date is filled with romance and laughter! Susan Hatler is the best at clean romcom and this one is at the top of my favorite list. A matter of chance has Abigail running late for a date, who happens to be the same man who gave her a speeding ticket. Cooper doesn’t fall for her tricks, but he plays along, which is even more entertaining. A clean romance, with humor and animals pulling at your heartstrings, this was the perfect combination.
