~STANDALONE NOVEL~Wild, reckless, and fast. That’s how I raced until a fatal accident on the track ruined my riding career. I had no choice but to leave that life behind; at least, until now. My name is Logan Chandler, one of the best FBI agents in the country. When an old friend calls for help and winds up dead, I take matters into my own hands. In order to do that, I have to go back to my past, … go back to my past, back to the racetrack and to the one girl I never thought I’d see again . . . Kassidy Bennett.
She’s the key to solving it all, but bringing her in could put her in grave danger. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize she was already there. To save her, I have to put everything on the line. It’s a race against time, a race to the death, and only one will make it to the end.

I’ve read this book multiple times as well Armed & Dangerous Series as a whole but I’ve never actually gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed this second chance romance between Logan Chandler and Kassidy Bennett. This book starts 8 years prior and Logan is in the hospital after a motorbike accident. He thinks he’ll never be able to walk again he wants his girlfriend Kassidy to live her life and go off to College instead of becoming his nurse so he breaks up with her then left town and supposedly never locked back. Kassidy has had no idea where Logan is and why he left and that over the last 8 years he’s still kept in touch with her dad Richard and their friend Levi and even came back a few times for pivotal moments of her life like watching her walk for College Graduation and when her mother passed away but because he saw her with some other guys he finally thought that she was happy and that he’d left it too late to tell her the truth about why he left and maybe to earn her forgiveness.
The rest of the book is set 8 years after he left, Logan learnt to walk again and realised his dream of and became an FBI Agent. Some weird sh*t is happening at Bennett Racing, the last being that some stolen stuff was found at their mechanic Ethan’s house which doesn’t make any sense considering how long Ethan has worked for Bennett and why would he steal stuff and leave them in his garage for someone to find and as he was leaving after being fired by Richard he told Kassidy that he didn’t steal anything and that something has been happening for years and possibly that Logan’s accident wasn’t an accident but her dad is too angry to listen to Ethan but Levi decides to see if Logan can come home and investigate since that’s what he does and no one knows that he’s an FBI Agent but when Levi calls him about the situation at home he refuses to come back but said he’ll do his own investigation. He tries to ring Levi back a few times since then but never got an answer so thinks Levi’s still angry at him and it isn’t until Richard rings him and tells him that Levi’s dead so Logan agrees to come back home and go undercover with Bennett Racing to try and find out who has been targeting them and why.
I think Kassidy forgave Logan way too quickly even if he had a legitimate reason for leaving and why he’s come back now but after 8 years of built up anger she got over it in like a hot minute, even if she’s always loved him you think she’d still hold on to her anger a bit longer. Considering she’s taking over Bennett Racing with her friend, ex-boyfriend and step-brother Sean she does like to punch people who make her angry and I really think she’d have a lot more control of her emotions than she seems to have. I hope Kassidy’s sister Madison and Logan’s FBI partner Micah reconcile and eventually get their own book after it was revealed that Micah wasn’t a bad guy, he never knew who she was when they met and he’s actually with the FBI undercover to help Logan find out who’s messing with Bennett Racing Team and why but then she’s also angry that no one trusted her enough to tell her the truth and it doesn’t help that Logan told Kassidy that he’s working undercover. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series when it’s finally released which is hopefully soon as it’s been years. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Look at that cover!!!!
I really enjoyed this book, love the action, suspense, and the thrill.
…but some parts kept me from loving it, for being a second chance romance.
Him being away 8 years and the way he broke it off, she forgave him too easy..
Him keeping tabs, and to sleep around, didn’t sit well with me.
You know how when you read a particularly sweet things it leaves you with a giddy, stupid smile…possibly squealing…High-Sided did that.
L.P. is famous for her second chances. Add in some danger, and hot dudes on motorcycles and you have High-Sided. Kassie was in love with the front runner for her dad’s racing team. She was following him to college…it was all planned.
But life happens and plans fall apart. Eight years later, he walks back into her life. Only Kassie isn’t interested in what he has to say because she’s still reeling. Well, she doesn’t want to be interested.
With shady things and accidents happening, help of an unusual kind is called in. But is 8 years too little or too late? Will the truth set them free?
I enjoyed it and actually just plowed through it in a few hours. It was fun, entertaining, and had a bit of mystery. I knew part of the ending because I guessed but I hadn’t seen the other part coming. See who’s responsible for causing all the trouble…
