Henry Miller was nobody. Not any longer. He used to be an up and coming chef in New York City, training under one of the most famous celebrity chefs in the world. But that had been five years before. When he’d been itching to leave the small-town life of Darlington, Utah behind and become rich and powerful and famous. He’d been on his way too—had the fancy apartment, the great job, the gorgeous … great job, the gorgeous fiancé.
Isabella had been generous, sweet, and beautiful inside and out . . . or so he’d thought. Because the moment he’d taken leave from his job to come home and care for his father, the moment he’d slipped free of the outer edges of celebrity by returning to Utah to help his mother run the diner, Bella had dumped him.
Without a word and definitely without any explanation, Bella had disappeared from his life faster than a Michelin star from a restaurant that had lost his shine.
And he was fine with that. He’d moved on, rebuilt a life in Darlington and found, if not fulfillment, then at least peace in cooking at his father’s old diner.
Until Isabella showed up in town with a new fiancé in tow.
Until Bella wanted him to cook the food for her wedding at Roosevelt Ranch.
Until . . . he found out why she had left.
Suddenly, the peaceful but boring life Henry had built for himself was chaotic and frightening and it potentially, maybe . . . possibly might be punctuated with a happy ending.

This is the second book I’ve read of Roosevelt Ranch (sadly I still haven’t had time to catch up with the first two books, they are still sitting in my TBR pile) and I’m still loving the small, quaint town and people that Faber writes about. This time we visit the local diner, where aside from the actual Ranch, a lot of the action in Darlington, Utah transpires at. I love that we finally get a glimpse into the man who has had a hand in helping so many others, Henry Miller.
Henry is at times, gruff, but also a loveable teddy bear. We have always gotten a sense that he has been wounded, but we never knew by whom. We finally meet the woman that put a thorn in Henry’s paw, Isabella. She doesn’t show up in town alone though. Her fiancé appears, even though Bella claims to no longer be engaged. Sergio is slime personified. This creates a whole new emotional level of chaos in Henry’s life. Is he ready to jump back out of the pan into the fire again? With the town at his back, Henry is ready for anything, but the bigger question is, is Bella ready for Darlington?
If you haven’t read any of the Roosevelt Ranch books yet, the great thing is you can pick them up at any point and jump right in. They are a quick, easy read that will always leave you with a good feeling after you finish them.
Regret at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber is book 4 in the series. It is a 2nd chance at romance which the main characters are
Henry and Isabella.
This story goes into why Isabella left Henry so abruptly 5 years before. You feel so badly for her because you really see that she’s not the shallow, cold person Henry believes she was/became. Henry never stopped loving Isabella and this story features the rollercoaster romance ride that their 2nd chance at love was. It’s full of feels, steam, angst, twists, pain, anger, forgiveness, healing, chemistry, passion, romance and love. I enjoyed the main characters and secondary characters. I can’t wait for book 5. It looks to be extremely exciting!!
My Rating: 4.4 stars *******
I enjoyed this emotionally complex read. This is Henry and Isabella’s second chance at love and it will just make your heart melt. I felt so much for both these characters and what they had to go through to get their HEA. Emotional turmoil, drama, secrets, wounded hearts, small town charm and a love that endures throughout adversity will pull you into this engaging book and have you fully invested in this couple’s happiness. I really liked it and will make it a point to explore more books in this series.
I love second chance romances and this book is just that. Henry and Isabella have spent the last 5 years of their lives apart. Henry hating Isabella and Isabella dreaming of the life that she could have had with Henry if she didn’t make the choice that she did. Truths come out and love rebuilds itself. However there is one major obstacle that stands in there way and they don’t realize it until it’s almost to late. I felt so bad for Isabella at the beginning, not only because of her past/present but also because of the way the people in Darlington initially made her feel. Henry is one of Darlington’s love residences and if you hurt one of their own they don’t like you. But Henry’s heart still belongs to Isabella and not only does the town eventually figure that out, but so does Henry. Seeing these two build their HEA was heartwarming. They truly love one another. Seeing them have to go through what they did (even if it was only the VERY last portion of the book) was hard. I’m very glad they got their HEA. Then we have that epilogue! This author definitely has a way of keeping us in suspense. I so want to know who our mystery woman is! Another great book from a great series. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Wow! From the way the prior book ended, I had doubts on who Henry’s love interest would be. Would it be his lost love Isabella? Or someone new? Even at the beginning of this book, I was unsure. Obviously that became cleared up very quickly. I really loved how they were able to reconnect, even through such crazy circumstances. This book was romantic and sexy and it kept me turning this pages to find out what was going to happen next. The end has me REALLY looking forward to the next book.
Regret at Roosevelt Ranch is a fantastic second chance romance. I love the Roosevelt Ranch series and was so excited for Henry’s story. And let me tell you it did not disappoint. I love how sweet and caring Henry is. He is always there for everyone in town. And throughout this series, you get the impression that something was missing. All is answered when Isabella shows up out of the blue. Her life is a complete mystery until she finally opens up to Henry. You feel for Isabella and what her father puts her through. She is so strong and wants her life for herself. You can see why the whole town would fall in love with her when she shows up. You feel Henry’s walls fall the more he is around Isabella. Their love is so strong and it shows. You fell it. For Henry and Isabella second chances make a stronger bond. This book is one I couldn’t put down. You need to fall in love with Henry and Isabella as they fall back in love with each other. Go one-click this one.
Regret at Roosevelt Ranch is a tale of false starts, wrong turns and heartaches. Henry and Isabella are a storm that can not be tamed. What began with love, ended in sorrow. Will foolish pride keep their star-crossed love story from getting a second chance? Faber knows how to reach a heart. With beautiful words, willing hearts and determined souls anything is possible.
