Kept you guessing
The author laid a very crooked trail that doubled back, circled around, and took to the sky a couple of times. What a devious and unusual tale he wove! I changed my mind on the murderer more than twice. Loved most of the characters; in some cases I wished he had taken a bit more time and fleshed them out more. But I loved the creativity of this, and will definitely seek out more from this writer!
Very good read. On the edge of my seat until the very end
Actually had me guessing wrong most of the book. Different than the normal who done it fare. Truly enjoyed reading this book
Who would give this book a poor review? I was stuck needing to read until the end. An action packed page turner.
At first glance, I was taken aback by some editing lack, but as I plodded on, I was glad I made the effort. This is a whodunit with likable and well–rounded characters; Remington Kane even throws in some intentionally confusing tricks: for example two brothers, named Joey and John Revene (note how close this is to “Revenge”), are both suspected of murder, but not at the same time and appear in the novel in complex ways; to complicate things, Joey is an author who uses the name of Jude Rowland, who writes thrillers; Kane uses both names with skill: in his hometown, he is known as Joey…
Even better, Joey is a good-hearted guy who has used his millions to build houses for old friends; when the cops are stationed in front of his country property, he puts up a Porta-Potty for them. We even see him kissing an old girlfriend, who is now a cop. And there a plenty of other bad guys to go around who want to frame him, too, so the reader is led down many a suspect’s path.
Overall, I enjoyed the brain tease to the very end. I think you will too.
